It gives me(Jon, aka Cheshire Cheese) great pleasure to hand over to Fertility Friends two cheques totalling £192.00p raised by work colleagues for FertilityFriends.co.uk.
My wife Debbie has suffered for 4 years with a condition called Endometriosis which sadly ended our chances of having children in April 2007.
Since Debbie has been poorly i started raising money for our local Hospital with various events, my friends Paul, Nikki and John decided that we wold start raising some funds for Fertility Friends, after i explained how much this site has helped both myself and my wife through the whole fertility road and beyond.
Paul and Nikki after many months of training in the Gym (whilst i sweated in the pool) and decided they would do the Great Manchester 10k Run all in aid of Fertility Friends and another Charity of my choice which had to be related to Endometriosis.
I am pleased to say that Paul and Nikki both pictured before the start of the run, ran the 10k run in a very respectable time of 1hr and 12 minutes of which i can say i was very proud of them both for doing this for this site.
I know how hard they both worked to get through this race and how much preparation they also did!!
I am sure that everybody on Fertility Friends are very grateful for what these people have achieved for this site and we would like to wish them all a happy and healthy future.
And finally to another friend of mine at work who had a guess the babies weight for his now little Girl, he had £1.00 a guess per person with £22 going to fertility friends, of which i would also like to thank John for kindly organising.
I certainly hope this will encourage more to do the same in the future, as Fertility Friends is probably the best support out there and needs people like this to keep the site going for us all.
Long may Fertility Friends prosper |

British Fertility Society response to the judicial review ruling on the HFEA and Mohammed Taranissi case
Dr. Mark Hamilton, Chair of the British Fertility Society said:
“The British Fertility Society is concerned to hear about the way this case has progressed. The Society supports the principle of regulation of the fertility sector. The regulator needs to be accountable, and it needs to maintain the trust and confidence of the sector. In this case, this has not happened, and the HFEA needs to look hard at how it can regain this trust. The HFEA receives funding from levying fees on clinics, and of course the clinics may effectively be asked to fund this failed action; given the limited NHS support for fertility treatment, this means an additional burden on those who want to have children through assisted conception. The British Fertility Society will be asking the Department of Health to conduct a full investigation.”
