Sponsored Run message from Jo & Paul
Wednesday, 03 October 2007

Jo and PaulDear Readers,

As you may know we have been part of Fertility Friends since March 2002.

During this time we have attempted 9 IVF’s, 1 FET and more recently a host surrogacy. Along this rollercoaster ride the friends we have made through FF have always been there for us, giving their unfading support and love.
This support has undoubtedly helped us through our bad times.

Because of this we both wish to give something back, as a way of saying a big thank you for all that you have done and the support you have given.

Last year we both completed The Great South run in Portsmouth. The run is a distance of 10 miles and takes place around the streets of Portsmouth. Last year we ran for the MS Society as Jo has been diagnosed with the condition.

This year we are going to complete the run to raise money for Fertility Friends.  Like the MS Society, it is a worthy cause and very close to our hearts. The run takes place at the end of October so we have a short while to raise as much money as we possibly can.

The money raised will help fund the development of FF projects both online and offline, and too continue in its aim of providing free support!

So, if you would like to sponsor us please see the link below. Every little amount will help no matter how small.
Sponsorship is by Paypal   http://www.paypal.com

Many Thanks

Loads of Love

Dr Babatunde Ogunyemi
Today we received sad news of the passing of Dr Babatunde Ogunyemi.

His colleagues at the Lister passed on this message

"It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely loss of our dearly beloved colleague Dr Babatunde Ogunyemi, popularly known to his patients and colleagues as Tunde. Tunde worked at the Lister Fertility Clinic for 12 years and during this time his charm, vibrance, humour and empathy endeared him to all who knew him. He leaves an irreplaceable space in the lives of those who knew and loved him and he will be forever missed."

Our deepest sympathy lies with Dr Tunde's family and colleagues at the Lister.

From all at Fertility Friends.

Paul and Nikki run for FF!
Sunday, 12 August 2007

Paul and Debbie fundraising for FFIt gives me(Jon, aka Cheshire Cheese) great pleasure to hand over to Fertility Friends two cheques totalling £192.00p raised by work colleagues for FertilityFriends.co.uk.

My wife Debbie has suffered for 4 years with a condition called Endometriosis which sadly ended our chances of having children in April 2007.

Since Debbie has been poorly i started raising money for our local Hospital with various events, my friends Paul, Nikki and John decided that we wold start raising some funds for Fertility Friends, after i explained how much this site has helped both myself and my wife through the whole fertility road and beyond.

Paul and Nikki after many months of training in the Gym (whilst i sweated in the pool) and decided they would do the Great Manchester 10k Run all in aid of Fertility Friends and another Charity of my choice which had to be related to Endometriosis.

I am pleased to say that Paul and Nikki both pictured before the start of the run, ran the 10k run in a very respectable time of 1hr and 12 minutes of which i can say i was very proud of them both for doing this for this site.

I know how hard they both worked to get through this race and how much preparation they also did!!

I am sure that everybody on Fertility Friends are very grateful for what these people have achieved for this site and we would like to wish them all a happy and healthy future.

And finally to another friend of mine at work who had a guess the babies weight for his now little Girl, he had £1.00 a guess per person with £22 going to fertility friends, of which i would also like to thank John for kindly organising.

I certainly hope this will encourage more to do the same in the future, as Fertility Friends is probably the best support out there and needs people like this to keep the site going for us all.

Long may Fertility Friends prosper
