Wow this page has moved fast today, just a quick post as I'm off for an early night. Could be a big day tomorrow!!

Dbk yes I have been getting headaches all at the front of my head and around my eyes. Glad to here your appointment went well.

Hak good to hear things are going well :)

Luciole welcome, take care of yourself and those babies

Tam I also think you need to rest!!! Please look after yourself :)

Dwil thank you, fingers crossed for good results.

Sorry was just a quick one. I  will try catch up again tomorrow if I'm sat waiting at the hospital.

Night all x

Hi everyone. It's so comforting reading this thread and checking how we are all doing. A great family to be part if.

Luciole. I said hi on the due date thread but hadn't realised properly what you have been going through with your twins. Hope things get a bit better for you now and you get the home rest up you need. No idea about how things go in Switzerland bug your doctors seem to know who should be looking after your care with referral to specialist hospital. Take care.

Butterfly. Exciting times. Hope all, goes well tomorrow and that the headaches ease off some.

Margesimpson. You made me laugh. Don't start in the fresh bread, soft cheese and wine. It made my mouth water just thinking about it. Can you eat soft cheese and blue vein cheese after babies born if want to breastfeeding? Or is it still a no no.
Patsy. I am so going to have to get some fresh bread tomorrow now.

Marge. I can't be sure but I think twin 1 is head down and twin two is breech. Also she put it on my file and drew little pic of position. But put a question mark next to word cephalic.

Thanks Hakuna. I'm guessing butterfly buns is butterfly cakes and you say buns for cakes as from up north! 😀lol. Apologies if I'm way off.

Dbk. Not long now. I'm watching you closely. Lol.

All these birth announcements. As we go down our firing page list I get more and more nervy. It will be my turn one day and it will come up oh too soon even if it feels like weeks away yet.

Time for sleep. Got work in am. Dreaded tube and train journey.

Nite nite all.

Oh and hi to keep. Think I missed saying hello last time. Apologies. No idea re monitors. Not buying any as in one bed flat so will not need.

#1,304 ·
Hope everyone else is asleep at this time of night!
Thanks for whoever it was that answered about video monitors. It was good to know they need cables and can be hung on the wall. We are thinking video because we love listening to our son when he's singing/chattering before he goes to sleep and thought it would be lovely to see him, so maybe with these two we can! Especially if they interact with each other. But no I don't think we'll stop watching them - that's why we didn't get one before! My wife also suggested it might be easier to be able to see which twin is crying rather than keep going upstairs every two minutes. We won't need the monitors straight away as they willbe with us constantly anyway!

Whoever said about buying small vests, we did the opposite, we had lots of newborn vests and he didn't fit at all so poor thing had nothing to wear until my mum popped to the shop and swapped everything for 0-3m! This time we haven't really bought anything because they could be early and tiny, or on time and huge! Who knows!
It is very exciting to see lots of people counting down the days rather than weeks until they meet their little ones. We are 34 weeks today and so excited now. But while dw wants them to stay in as long as possible, she is in so much pain she just wants them out! It's a horrible moral dilemma, even though you can't actually make them come early just by wishing it!
Anyway, time to try and sleep now, night all x

Really quick post...

Had my cervix checked, already scored a 6 and they want it to score 8 for breaking waters. Also had the pessary put in, which seems to be doing the trick. Fingers crossed I'll have some babies soon :)

Keep believing the Motorola ones we've got, you can turn the screen off but you still get the sound coming through.

#1,308 ·
So excited for you Butterfly, sounds like you are doing fantastically.  Keep up the good work and those babies will soon be in your arms x ^baby^ ^baby^

#1,309 ·
butterfly looking forward to hearing your news - hope that by now all has gone well and you and your babies are resting. hugs xxx

patsy - i am amazed that you are still working - well done, but not sure i could have coped.

#1,310 ·
Butterfly glad all is going well. I suspect it will be a bit longer yet even if cervix favourable they say an hour per cm. Cant wait to hear news.

Patsy I know what you mean on the back front. Addi actually gave me a nap today and my back seized and I foynd it hard to get out. Im looking forward to hubby being home so I can gave a nice bath. X

Yippee for 4 day wkends. X so nice to gave reassurance of scan yest. I was up 2 and a half hours in night due to bad back uncomfy tummy and nausea.

How you feeling dbk. Is it 12 days to go now?

#1,311 ·

all good tho anyway, xx

Hi guys. The weekend has arrived! Woop Woop.

Patsy. You have one crazy boss if they give you a project in your last two days. Madness. Enjoy your weekend anyways. And yes. We look massive. But we are carrying two whole babies on our tummies. We gonna look big. Fact. 😃

Tam. I'm with you. Time will tell. Babies will come when they are ready.

Butterfly. In the throws of induction. Thinking of you with big smile on my face. Hope all goes well.

AFm. I rang to get my GTT results. Took it yesterday. All normal. So happy. Said my full blood count and thyroid results also normal. Happy days. 😃

#1,313 ·
Well done dwil that's great news before the weekend and chocolate lol.

Tam lets see if the midwife is right, one day at a time hey. X

#1,314 ·
Tam you just never know as your body may surprise you :) hung in there x

Huk yes 12 long days to go. How are you doing?  Hope you have a better night sleep tonight. It's such a pain I can't even remember last time I had a good sleep months and months ago. Xxx

Dwil glad your results are all good. Hope your weekend is relaxing and good. Great you don't have to work! X

Afm feeling pretty much the same as yesterday it's like someone is pulling my pelvic muscles out one by one the pain is real and together with contractions it's just enough to make me want them to come. Today is the second day I have not been out but rest is what I need so it is good to be in although hard to rest as I can't sit, walk or lie down...this waiting game is so difficult! Also even tough I lost my mucus plug I have been losing more stuff today all day - it's mad how much. My consultant says it is all normal but I think that something must be happening and my body must be getting ready....

Hope everyone is well xxx

#1,316 ·
Woo. Exciting times.

Dbk. Long weekend coming up. You still losing mucus plug stuff? A lot can happen in four days. Lol. Take care and rest up as much as you can manage in between the pains.

Butterfly. Is this the night we wonder.  Live that you are keeping in touch throughout all the induction process. Amazed that you can still type. Is it just not sinful yet? Or are you superwoman.

Hakuna. One of my weird things since pregnancy is my life long live for all things chocolate and sweet things has dissipated.  So I can have the odd piece choc but mostly makes me feel sick. I am hoping this condition continues long after the babies cod and I can lose loads weight without even trying. Lol. We shall see.

AFm. Today I noticed that I've been getting much more of an ache and pain on my left side, under what I think is my ribs. So I'm guess twin two's head is butting my ribs there.  It's especially apparent if I sit forward in a chair at work. Eg leaning into computer without realising. I found myself rubbing the spot subconsciously and then realise what I'm doing. Has anyone else had this type of ache pain at ribs? Is this the start of things to come. Guessing I've had it easy thus far compared to so many of you.

Relaxing weekend coming up. Not booked any pedicure yet but have hair appt on Saturday which is always a pampering experience for me. 😊

Just a quickie from me as I'm supposed to be sleeping.

Started getting contractions at 5am, at hospital for 6:30. Exam at 7 showed I was 5cm dilated and then my waters broke....another exam at 11am showed I was fully dilated with bg almost out!!!

2:43pm Alice May Anne was born weighing 3lb15
3:29pm Joseph Alfred John was born weighing 3lb5

Both in nicu doing excellent. Feeding snd breathing independently, so no machines.

These babies have 2 super proud but tired mummies!! (I ended up delivering naturally)

#1,319 ·
HMD. Huge congratulations. 🎉😃 That seemed to have happened so very quickly. Well pleased for you and your Dw. Glad babies, Alice and Joseph, are both doing ok in nicu without needing any breathing or feeding apparatus. Well done for managing to deliver them both naturally too.

Keep. I read that post way back and it does make sense to be careful about sleeping two babies in small confined space such as a Moses basket. They need to have sufficient air circulated and my guess is design for Moses basket is for one baby only; so putting two babies into just one Moses basket restricts the space for babies to breath freely.

Butterfly. What news in the induction I wonder. Hope you had a good nights sleep and are doing ok.

Dbk - not long now. Hope you can get some comfortable rest in these next few days until your babies arrive.

Raccoon - hope all is well with you. I seem to remember you were going in on Tuesday 15th but not heard anything since. Take care.

Sun's shining again. Have a lovely day everyone. 😊

#1,320 ·
Hmd - woo hoo! Wonderful news and great names! So impressed with you managing to deliver both. You must be ok cloud nine! Hope you're getting some sleep though now.
Hugs, Mx

P.s. has the itching gone?

#1,321 ·
Congrats Hmd, those babies certainly decided they were quickly ready to make an appearance bless them. Great to hear all is well x

#1,322 ·
hmd wow congratulations how wonderful. Lovely names and good weights so hopefully they will put on weight quickly and be out of hospital soon. Well done on VB. HUGS X

Patsy your post made me laugh imagining pregnant woman on her back with legs up...gosh there is no way i could do that....seriously! Try attaching a few bricks to your dp' s tummy and then ask him to do a bit of light yoga :) gos i dont think men understand really what it feels like. hope you have a good day hugs xxx

dwil i have had that rib pain but only because one of the boys has his feet right up my ribs _ nice! I think i must be very bruised by now from all the kicks! and when people say it gets better as they run out of room to move well not in my case....the more they grow the bigger the kicks and more painful. But in a way it is nice knowing that they are moving about....i would rather have that then all this contractions pain...hope you have a nice pedicure and relaxing weekend.hugs xxx ps i now crave ice cream how weird never really liked it before!

keep - have seen that some time ago remember being quite upset about it. I guess as long as you are careful as much as you can be. There was an article this week in one of the papers about cot death when it happened as the baby fall asleep on his daddy' s chest. They say it can happen anywhere - i just hope and pray that it doesnt. How sad....

oh butterfly - nothing yet??? I thought that it would finish by now....hope you got your babies by now...thinking of you...

hmd i will update you and if i forgot to update anyone else please let me know...

xxx

#1,323 ·
hmd - Congratulations  ^clapping^ .... and doing soo well ...

patsy- yeah i know its best they stay in as long as possible, but my health is really deteriorating as each week goes by :( ... so 34 weeks would be nice.... and they should be good weights too.. my iron levels are not improving ...and I'm taking loads of the stuff. midwife gave me liquid stuff to try ...yack !! its horrible.... back to tablets me thinks lol

dwil- my ribs kill lol, they're feet are using it as a punching bag, as both head down, have been for ages ... shame i can't have a natural birth this time, due to a previous operation that i had after my last dd....

Butterfly- hope your doing ok... and things are progressing nicely for you

hak- yes, I'm taking one day at a time.. and want to get to 34 weeks anyway... but bodies have minds of their own... xx

#1,324 ·
Hmd oh wow congrats!!! I'm jealous, wish things were moving that quick for me! Was having lots of contractions with pessary in but they take it out after 24 hours. I'm not sure if they're slowing down now. I was examined last night and was 2-3cm's with a paper thin cervix. Now I am just waiting for a bed on delivery So they can break my waters but seems to be very busy here today.

Sorry no personals, I hope everyone is doing well!

#1,325 ·
butterfly - omg still nothing the wait must be driving you mad! It must be so tough and your contractions must hurt a lot oh poor you hope that things progress for you quickly. ^hugme^ ^hugme^ ^hugme^

Looking at the front page everyone has or is about to deliver except me! I know it is horrible to say that i want them out because they are better in for as long as possible but as tam says it is really taking its toll on my body and i am not sure how much longer i can take this. Today i am 36 weeks so they should be ok to come out....my dp said that this feels like the longest pregnancy ever since we dont just count the days since i got pregnant but all the years of ivf and failures and pain and hurt...so in a way i can see his point.

xxx

#1,326 ·
^hugme^ ^hugme^ DBK- you've done really well ! 36 weeks wow.... they're more than cooked lol, 50 % of twins are born by 37 weeks, DD was born at 36 weeks and she was fine, twins are meant to be more mature at gestational age than a singleton... study shows anyway...

so anyway now for you too  ;D ... start home remedies ...hot curries, BD'ing (if you have the energy lol) tons of stuff for you to try  ;) ;)

butterfly- poor you, i was induced with dd as my waters broke at 35 weeks... but contractions didn't start, i had the passery that did naff all but painful contractions too ...wouldnt even give me gas n air !! .... then they started me on drip and broke my waters, hope a place comes up on delivery suite for you !! your so close now xx
