PCOS CHIT CHAT PART 13...

My temperature yesterday dipped from 36.5 ish down to 36 degrees and this morning its rising again. Can anyone tell me if this is a good sign? I'm on my 13th day of cycle.

Thanks as well for your positive thoughts for the clinic on friday, not really sure what to expect. don't really want to tell them I had a natural af with the acupuncture in case he won't give me anything, surely we shouldn't worry about things like that but they are in charge of our future in a way, how annoying!

If I do ovulate when can you do a home pregnancy test do you have to wait a month?

Strawberry Angel - So glad you had success with the electrolysis!

Gem - I have no idea about the temp but if you have been steady and now it is changing up or down I would get some BMS in just in case. When I charted my temp for 3 cycles it was all over the place and I got no pattern from it when compared together so gave up. 

Just wanted to say  for Friday and if it were me I wouldn't let him send me away without more (a higher dose) of clomid. Perhaps don't mention the acupuncture and stick to your original gripe that you're unable to predict when you're periods will arrive - which is still true. Be as direct as you can. (which I would find difficult too.) For what I've read most clomid successes have taken a few rounds of it so tell him you want to same shot at it as everyone else.

If you think you've ovulated take a test about 3 weeks later. Or for the more impatient, 2 weeks later and then if nothing shows up, a week later. Most tests detect a bfp about 2 weeks after ovulation, the day your AF is due but not always. (Mine didn't) (I think that is the right info.  )

Thank you Jen! Yes I think I will keep doc in dark and tell him that I don't know when periods are due and that I haven't had one since taking the provera to ensure he gives me the clomid etc. I am going to push for a higher dose just to give me a jump start.

I am getting in lots of bms just in case, the temperature thing is very confusing think I will only be doing it this month!

Thank you for the information.

It is my first month doing the charting and it has been confusing but with the information from here and my acupuncturist I think I will get the hang of it. There has definately been a dip in temperature and its rising again so will see what it does for the second half of the cycle.

How are you coping with your PCOS? Do you have all the symptoms? Unfortunatley I have most but starting to get certain ones under control the most frustrating is TTC. I have managed to get my BMI down to 30 but it doesn't seem to want to go any lower lol.

What are the fertility experts telling you? have they prescribed anything yet? What tests have you had done?

Apologies if I'm asking for too much info, feel free to ignore me!

I have the acne too, but use a cream called acnecide and it keeps my skin clear, but I can tell when I've run out! Excess hair has never been a problem for me until I came of the mini pill, which must have been discuising the symptoms then all of a sudden came a tache and slight hair on my neck!

Your BMI is excellent! wish I knew your secret! Don't think your weight will be an issue for you.

The treatment I have had so far has been a lot of prodding and poking, scans, dye, laparoscopy and now on clomid which hasn't worked this time around, but cross fingers for another dose which could!

How long have you been TTC? We are about 2 years now but I've decided its got to be our turn soon haha. Did a leathal thing at the weekend and visited the baby department and picked a pram which made me crave a baby even more, but I'm feeling a bit better now.

Girls need ur help...

I got my results back from my first gyne app (the same day i got my very first ovulation surge) They as follows:

LSH - 10.2

LH - 60.4

Males - 1.4-18.1


Now i was so happy about the LH level cos i thought it agreed with opk but the clinic said the answer from the doctor was "as we would expect with PCOS" ...this has left me feeling puzzled as i have not Ovulated before and i have been eatiing better etc and it was such a wonderful surprise!!!  We bms last thurs to sunday night...and i was waiting this result to begin really looking forward to testing in a few weeks..Now im not sure if i should be thinking like this..Do the results show im not likely to get pregnant?  Am i missing something???

Dont know whether to contact them back?

I'm no good with the numbers thing but think you should definately get back in touch even just on the phone and ask the question. You really need to know and they are meant to be the experts (although sometimes I wonder haha)

I hope it means you've ovulated and keep getting the BM's in and do the test, it can't hurt anything.

Specialmum,

I agree with Gem, see if you can phone up the gynea team or failing that make an appt with GP for an explanation. How come Dr's are so vague? - test results effect our bodies and we have a right to know what's going on!! You need to know if you ovulated for sure and if you timed in your BMS right so you know for next time. (if you need a next time.  )

Hi Everyone Just returned from the hospital and had some good news my progesterone level was 38.5 when I had my bloods done so I ovulated so the gyne has given me another 5 months of clomid so cross fingers it should work!

Really chuffed and a little nervous as I ovulated and didn't get pregnant, think I need to try harder haha.

Hope everyone else is well. Did you speak to doc specialmum?

Good news hun..My doc's dont open till 1pm and then im not sure if i will beable to speak to someone..Just sitting here waiting lol

If i ovulated 2days later that would be saturday which makes today day 20 so i might ask to get day 21 bloods done... Not sure if they will but i think it would give a better picture of whats happening.  I hope they do some as im not due to see them again till 2mths!!!

Littlegem - Great news!!! And if you ovulated - even if you didn't conceive this time - at least you know the clomid is doing it's job and your chances are really good!!! Good luck hun!!!

I know the feeling. I asked the doctor while we were there if we could have day 21 bloods done for next cycle but they said no. I'm on day 16 so will be testing easter weekend if I don't get period, it would be the best easter egg ever haha.

Hope you get the answers you need from the docs.

Just called Clinic and was told that a doctor will call me when he/she is free.....Back to waiting now lol  I hope they call before 3 as blood clinic closes at 4pm!!!

Oh the drama of it all lol

I wish i could just be someone that has that amazingly wonderful dark surge on my opk and now be thinking woohoo im PUPO! lol  But nope i know have to worry that i may have not O'd or something will now go wrong..or my other levels will mess it up....

MUST BE POSITIVE!
