I hope I am not being insensitive in posting this. I was dx aged 36 as perimenopausal / POF with high FSH in June 2006 with day 3 fsh of 19 and then 29 the following month.I had the speech (adoption, donor eggs etc) and was sent away with a letter cancelling the lap and dye that I had been booked in for.I cried for literally 3 months but then started to trawl the internet looking for info.I went through every infertility site and read medical studies and came to the conclusion that miracles happen.I decided to take positive action to improve my chances and started twice monthly sessions of acupuncture (with an excellent doctor in Manchester).I took Wheatgrass tablets from Pure Green Earth (Agnus cactus seemed to throw my cycle completely so stopped it) , Menopace (until I ovulated each month) and Vitamin B complex .Most importantly, I feel, I began to chart my temps with FertilityFriends.Once I could see my cycle begin to regulate and see that I was still ovulating (not all the time - I had an episode in May where I bled continuosly for 64 days!!) I began to feel more relaxed and less stressed about my failure to conceive.
Doctors at my local hospital and at St Mary's in Manchester told me there was no real chance of this happening and I am glad to have proved them wrong.I know I have a higher chance of miscarriage than most but am continuing acupuncture to hopefully lessen the chances of this.
When I was first diagnosed I searched the internet looking for stories like this, for some hope, and was desperate to prove them all wrong.I haven't seen my GP or any consultants since I got that diagnosis last year as they made it clear they couldn't help.Find something to do (acupuncture, yoga etc) that will relieve your stress levels and focus on the positive. You may be posting happy news here yourself one day!
