The Hull IVF Unit ~ Part 27

Hi everyone, Im new to all this and just wondered if you wouldnt mind answering a question for me.  Ive been trying for a baby for around 19 months now, I have past history of gynae problems and initial blood tests with GP have identified low oestrogen and low progresterone?  My GP has said I need to be refered to a specialist in Hull but that I have to wait until we've been trying for 2 years which is in another 4 months.  Does anybody have any idea of waiting times for the sub-fertility unit when Im finally referred.  Any help would be really appreciated.   Im 37 and my husband is 28.  Sorry if Im asking the wrong people.

as you are 37 you will be classed as private where by some of use were under 35 which is the cut of point for nhs patients at hull. once you get to hull though you will be sent to subfertility first which is wednesday afternoon and then go from there, as i say we were nhs and we went to subfertility end of august 09 and then went to open evening in the at the ivf unitit's about 16-20 wk wait between going to subferlity and going to the unit but we did'nt wait that about a month after the second subfertlity appt which was end of the october.

I don't quite understand Caz1976 reply, so forgive me please (both of you) if I've got the wrong end of the stick.
But I'm 37 and we have just been through the Hull Clinic on NHS.  I was 36 when we had our first meeting with the professor.
I just took the reply to mean that private meant you wouldn't get nhs funding at all due to being over 35.

I'm not saying you will get the funding, as I can't recall the whole criteria, but I just know we got nhs funding no problem.

Again, sorry if I've misunderstood.

We saw the prof early sept, then went to the open evening early nov.  By mid november we were starting our first cycle.

thats interesting boomer cos i was told that there was no nhs funded tx for over 35 as thats the cut off point for tx on nhs.

The cut off age for NHS tx is 35 for ladies living in the East Riding, I don't think there is an age cut off for those who live within the Hull council area 
 
Unfortunately I rarely get on here nowadays.  I'm so sorry for those of you who have had such sad lossess recently    and my congratulations to those of you for who tx has gone well and babies have arrived (or are well on their way!!!)

hi ladies, sorry not been on had a 5 day hospital stay and things still little bit raw with the other baby, thank you all for your kind words, just been for nuchal scan all good with twin 2 was moving and kicking well, so feel bit better as all the feelings i had had disappeared over the last week and i just didn't feel pregnant anymore maybe its from going from 2 to 1? Anyway our wedding went ahead on Thursday and we had a lovely day and managed to keep a secret from everyone until after the day then we told people most of them have been really happy for us but the hubbys family are not pleased they were not invited - oh well they will get over it!!

kirst you have got 2, 13wks so all sickness would disappear, but it might come back later in the pregnancy to haunt you, ggggrrrr at hubby family, i was told 35 is the cut of point in east riding for nhs tx, but that was 2yrs ago so wonder if it's changed then.
