Morning ladies.

I thought I'd better put my non-bank holiday at work to good use, and do a proper reply to you all  ;D

Caroline: hope it went well this morning.  I bet your bank account feels a little lighter for the priviledge!

Kirsty:  Have a fab holiday!  Make the most of your last long-haul flight without a young person to entertain  ;D and enjoy the PJs!

Fran: Hope you've had a nice Easter with your mum and that the Easter Bunny came bearing gifts of a chocolate nature!

Sniff: Hope you've finally got shut of that nasty cold

Fancy: Get that doodle going lady! Hope you're ok and have your boxing gloves ready for next week  ;D

Kerry:  When does your next cycle kick off?

Tatty:  Hope you're having a nice relaxing time over the Easter break.  3 weeks will be up in no time.

Shaz: What's your next plan of attack?  Hope Dr. Google has given you some answers

UTB: I know you're keeping a low profile at the moment, but hoping you'll feel up to coming out to play again soon  ^hugme^

Willowstar: hope the stabbing is going well - you must be cooking nicely by now

Catlady:  no booze, no ****, no fun.... that's about the measure of this IF lark!  ^idiot^ Hope the cravings are staying away

Meggy: when are you cycling again next?

Billabong & Lou: hope you have some help tying your shoes as you must have forgotten what your feet look like  ;D

Jennie: Hope you're ok and that DH is now fully recovered. How was NKOTB btw?!

Skatz: Hope you and LO are doing well

Baby: Understand that sharing isn't for everyone, but glad the forum works for you as it is and you're always giving others advice  :)

SarahJaney: are you still with us?  Hope you're doing ok love.

Oh oh oh I'm sure to have missed someone... I'm sorry - I've tried my hardest!!

AFM: My smugness has worn off as after a weekend of sunshine (and sunburn!) it actually started hailing last night!! What on earth is this weather about?! It's now settled into a familiar constant drizzle.  Oh Turkey, just as I was starting to build bridges with you...

I have my follow up next week - can't believe we can almost get going again! At least I hope that's what they're going to tell us.  This has been a long and agonizing break between treatments and I just want to get cracking now.  I'm also planning to request a copy of my notes when I'm back too to give us the flexibility to try another clinic if we decide (I have certain expectations I want Jessops to meet with this next cycle): those of you who have already requested yours - what happens if you then have more treatment at Jessops after?  Do you then have to go through the process of requesting your whole set of notes again just to get the update or would they just be able to provide an update from when you last asked?  I'd like to ask now because of the time it seems to take for them to deliver, but if we cycle with Jessops next (as we probably will) but THEN need to go elsewhere, would that be a waste of an exercise?

hi All!

Suzie- you need to apply in writing to get your notes, I scanned in a signed letter and emailed it directly to Mr Skull- I got a reply about 36 hours later saying that he had passed it to his secretary. We got an invoice about a week later and we sent a cheque back, then our notes came about three days later. They charge about 30p or 50p a page of your notes so you should be able to get them to press, but then for any further investigations or tests that get added after that you will have to apply in writing again for the additional notes if that makes sense! xx

caroline- good luck hunni!

Fran- hope you are doing ok chick x

Fancy- thank you for doing the doodle again!! xx

hi to kirsty, tatty, and everyone else I haven't mentioned!

In relation to the comments on the old thread about how this board has changed, I have to say that i 110% agree with everything that Fran and Suzie have said. This board used to be like a big group of friends that were all in the same boat and wanted to help each other. I for one lost the love for it somewhat when new people kept floating on asking a couple of questions (usually totally ignoring anything that may have been posted recently before that was an emotional time for someone else) and then going off again and only coming back when they had more questions to ask. I have been on this board for 2 1/2 years and it has helped me to survive three failed cycles and I think I have made some friends in the process and met some lovely strong ladies. I don't want to stop floating on, as I have been lurking and reading- but a few times I have had to stop myself from saying stuff when I have felt people have not been posting in the spirit of the board which may have caused someone else to not get the support that they sought. I am really sorry if that offends anybody, that is not how it is meant, but this is called a support network for a reason- it is for mutual support and advice.

As for the age old issue with pregnancy chat on here- I don't want any of our old friends to stop coming on here and keeping us up to date on where they are, but I do see why it is very painful to read details at times especially when in limbo or having just had another failed cycle etc. So I think the two boards is still a good idea.

i think the Lou is probably right and maybe a ******** grou would be a good idea, my only concern is that none of my friends/family know about this process so I wouldn't want it to be obvious to anyone via walls etc if that makes sense!

Anyway I hope that noone is offended by anything at all that I have said, as it is in no way intended that way, and Tatty I think it was brave to raise in the first place! x

Lots of Love

Shaz xx

Suzie - concerts aren't for a couple of weeks.  Will let you know how it all goes.  Looking forward to meeting them again but I think I'm going to struggle standing up at 2 concerts in a row!!!  DH has just about fully recovered.  He looks pretty normal again and is getting back to full fitness.  Good luck on the 19th and with the rest of your time in Turkey.  Hope the sun comes back for the rest of your time there.

Fancy - good luck for the 19th also.

Take care all.

Ladies - I'm not trying to spam you today I promise (spot the person who's stuck in the office!) but I was just searching online for a quote and I discovered that "So Close" is available, by the looks of it in full, online on google books - ie Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=DrFV3sYtYvEC&lpg=PA101&dq=veteran%20barbies%20so%20close%20tertia%20albertyn&pg=PP1#v=onepage&q&f=false (cue moderator link warning!)

Anyone who's not read it, I would highly recommend it both for yourself and anyone you're close to who's struggling to understand what we go through, both physically and emotionally, but it's very well written and funny, not heavy text-book stylee. Anyway - just wanted to share my finding with you! ^hugme^ ^hugme^

So as not to disappoint /links

Hi Everyone - just been having a major catch up - i am still here though i havnt posted in ages! i can only apologise for that. i too felt like it wasn't the same as it used to be , i appreciate I'm still relatively new etc but a lot of the old timers seem to have got bfps which is fantastic and a lot of people seemed to be popping on, asking questions and leaving again, without giving anything back as such which to me is what a support forum is for. I have been quite poorly too with my illness and working part time so its been difficult to get on etc.

nothing at all ha been happening for us regarding ttc which is probably bother reason i havnt been posting, felt like a bit of a fraud i guess!

will definitely make more of an effort to post more i do come on and read though.

soerry no personals as there are just too many to get through as i havnt been on in ages!

I think a ** group would be a fab idea, also i think a meet would be good too! i goes i think id be more inclined to post if i had met some of you in real life if that makes sense!

if i have offended anyone I'm sorry - my head is really foggy from my flare up still

love to all

Hi Ladies,
Deep Breath  - I posted about an hour ago, but I crossed with Suzie and manged to loose the lot, now had something to eat and back again.

So I am back on the merrygoround. I do hope everyone has had a lovely Easter,  Sorry to anyone who asked me questions on tx and I didn't answer.  I have been very chilled out about this cycle and decided to give myself a couple of days rest from ff in the run up to AF showing up,  as it was she was 3 days late, which never happens to me, sure we all know where that sends your brain.

I was very relaxed in ACU this morning, the last time I was there for bloods I wanted to curl up in the corner and cry.  Took 2 nurses 15 mins to to get my very reluctant blood.  Came out with my shopping bag of drugs and hadn't been asked for any money, which means it stays in my bank for another week  ;D.  And because I'm an old hack at this I don't have to go back tomorrow, as they already know how I react to the prescribed drugs. So back next Tuesday. :)

I have read a little of the chat but not all from the last couple of days, so won't go in depth, but will say Thank you ladies for the support you have given me since I joined this thread. I joined just before EC of my last tx, a tx which I shouldn't have had but which taught me a lot.  Since joining this thread I have learnt how little I knew and still don't know, your support has helped me a great deal in pushing myself to learn and understand more about what "Unexplained Infertility" means. Through being on the thread I have become more positive, and hope that I have been able to pass on some of this to others. I think it helped me to ask for your help because I had met some of you at the October meet, I could put a face to the Avatar, meaning that everything becomes that little bit more personal, comfortable even.

I will be looking for your support over the coming weeks, which I'm sure will be there, for myself,Willow, Kerry and anyone else who is tx over the next couple of weeks, in fact 1 quick question:Looks like my EC should be Sunday but as ACU isn't open would they bump me to Monday or bring it forward to Saturday.

Best wishes and God bless to all sharing my  ^reiki^ ^reiki^ ^reiki^ ^reiki^ ^reiki^ ^reiki^ ^reiki^ ^reiki^ ^reiki^ ^reiki^ with you all.  Sorry no personals I'm on a timer DP is the ticking clock
ck xx  ^pray^

Hi caroline

Just jumped back on the lap top to check out the google link from Suzie and saw your post.
Woo hoo so glad you have started tx and that the money stays in your account another week. i was hunted donw that very day but it was mid week!! i am not sure what would happen if your scheduled for EC on sunday. I would say they would assess if by going in one day early would make a huge amount of difference to your egg numbers or the same if they left you a day late.
anyway i just wanted to say good luck. its actually good to have somebody on here who is in the middle of treatment.
fire away with any questions.

schnoodle, so sorry i also forgot you before too. hope all is ok. dont ever feel like a fraud if you have nothing to report treatment wise.

hi to all others.

i have been doing some research into Ashermans syndrome. Asherman's syndrome (AS), presents a condition characterized by the presence of adhesions and/or fibrosis within the uterine cavity due to scars. A number of other terms have been used to describe the condition and related conditions including: traumatic intrauterine adhesions. (thankyou wikopedia!!)

the reason i have been looking into it is because my medical notes stated i had sever adhesions around my ovaries etc.
this will be another list of questions i will add to my notebook for Dr Naffee.

there is also a set of four interviews on you tube  'Ashermans Syndrome specialist, Dr Adrian Lower Interview, 1 - 4.

Hi Ladies
Hope you have all had a lovely weekend and ate lots of chocolate (I know I have!!)

I'm sorry that again i haven't posted properly for a few weeks - I seem to do a big post then don't post for a while.  I am still reading daily though, for me I have no excuse for not posting other than my usual hetic life and not getting the laptop out on a daily basis!!  I promise to try harder!!  It has been difficult since getting my BFP though and not wanting to upset people with any news, that is why I like the second thread we have going.

I will try to catch up but I am sure I will miss someone or quite a few off on the way!!

Caroline - So pleased you have started treatment, sorry the handwarmers didn't work for you this morning!  Had you had alot to drink?  I always try to drink more when I know I am having bloods (you proboberly already know this though!!)  I have just had to have 2 lots of bloods to see if I have caught something called "Slapped Cheek" (long story) and the nurse at my GP surgery got it first time out of my arm, no one has got blood out of my arm for years it is always my hand!  Hope the stabbing goes well and I have got everything crossed for you x x x x

Fran - Glad you have had a lovely weekend with your Mum, sorry I haven't rung just been a hetic few days, I'll catch you Thursday for a natter??  The furniture is lovely, a set from Mama's & Papa's.  They will phone us in 6 weeks to arrange delivery, I will be about 29 weeks then!  We have been busy clearing the back bedroom room out today, can't belive have much crap we have got!!
I will catch up on the information you have stated on the internet, the mind boggles with all the different types of issues infertility raises doesn't it (if that makes sense!)  not long until Spain now, I'm counting down the days for you!! x x

Fancy - Thanks for posting the Doddle - I will get on to it when I have finished posting!  Can't believe your appointment is next week, the 19th has come round so quickly, well I don't know where the year has gone really!!

My cold has gone now, THANK GODNESS, but I still have a dry cough, but that is getting better!!!

Kirsty - Hope you have a fab holiday, you will be on your way now so sorry I missed you before you went!!  Look forward to hearing from you when you get back and an update on your next scan x x x

To be continued..................

Sorry Ladies needed a pee break 7 didn't want to leave my post & lose it!!!

Ladies who have been asking about Sue Calvert;  Wonderful Lady (Caroline, did you enjoy it?).  I was taught how to self massage on my first Arvigo treatment but since getting my BFP have only been able to have Reflexology and not the Arvigo.  I did go once a fortnight and alternate treatment, now I go just for reflexology every three weeks.  It just helps me relax, I am taking my Mum with me next time I go, I have booked her in for reflexology too as a relaxation treat for her.  Ladies who are going, enjoy, I fully believe it helped me achieve my BPF.

Suzie - Glad you had a lovely holiday but sorry you have come back down to earth with a bump!!  I hope your follow up appointment at ACU next weeks gives you answers and a plan of action on where/what to do next.  I don't blame you in asking for your notes, in hindsight I wish I had asked for mine!!  Good Luck Hun and looking forward to catching up soon.  Don't work too hard x x x

Tatty - Sorry you are not feeling at your best at the moment, take care x x x

Shaz - Hope you have had a lovely Easter & not worked too hard x x x

UTB - Thinking of you flower and hope you too have had a lovely long weekend x x

Hi to everyone else; Willowstar, Catlady, Jennie, Lou, Skatz, Schnoddle, Baby1000 and others I am sure I have missed x x x

Just a little update as to where I am at, had another scan last Thursday (22 weeks), everything is ok.  Got another scan at Jessops now at 32 weeks.
I have had a busy weekend as per usual!!!  My Mum has had a bit of a nightmare, she has had a burst pipe in the loft which has brought the ceiling down in my old bedroom, hopefully not to much damage just alot of cleaning up to do.  Bless her, she still managed to have us all round for Easter Dinner!!

Take Care all x x x x x

hi everyone
I just want to say in regards to the people not posting correctly that been quite new to the site myself about 6 months or so. I try my best to wish people well and read when possible and not ask 100s of questions but i think its difficult in a couple of ways when your the new to the site. firstly i think that because some of  you ladies no each other so well i sometimes feel like im intruding as others have better knowledge and i don't like to comment on things i know very little about which is why i wish everyone well but dont really go into details. Also when people are new will have lots of questions  initially at least and nt have much to offer in return. Im sorry you feel like the new people don't.offer much or i have got the wrong end of the stick.

i offer my best wishes to everybody as always and hope i can continue to have a part in the site in any way i can but will try and keep questions to a minimum

all the best to all

Hi All,

Suzie- bet you can’t wait to get started again, I know I have been so inpatient with the whole process, Have saved the link and will have a read  :)

Fancy- what is this doodle thing ? sorry not herd of it b4, goog luck at your appointment on the 19th  ^pray^ ^reiki^

Kirsty- how do you feel ?  ;D

JuJu- don’t feel like you can’t ask any questions hun xx  ^hugme^

Shaz- you can set it as a private group, just don’t give it such an obvious name and no one will be able to see anything  ;D

Tatty – I hope you start to get the old feeling back about the thread and sorry you feel this way, I have only been on here for a month or so so don’t really know how you are all feeling xx  ^hugme^

Sniff- how’s the pregnancy going ? :)

Jennie- bet it was great to get away x :)

Caroline- good luck with this round of TX and fingers crossed for that BFP x  ^pray^ ^reiki^ ^hugme^

fran1975- I Really hope you get the answer to move forward with your TX, and just relax on your up and coming holiday (jealous)  ;D

willlowstar- how are you feeling ? x  ^hugme^

Catlady- good for you giving up x I did the same  :)

UTB,Lou, Baby1000, Sarah Jayney and anyone else hope you are well and back to work tomorrow whop whoo not…. ^hugme^

AFM – I did feel somewhat out of it as I wasn’t in TX and I’m also having IUI so cannot relate to everything you ladies are going through as most of you on here are having IVF or ICSI hence why I have not been posting on this thread as much as the IUI thread.

All I wanted was to make friends with ladies that were going through similar as my DP doesn’t really know how I’m feeling and all we want to do is have a moan every now and then and support others.

Today I have felt so helpless as my pooch Charlie my baby is spending the night in the vets as he’s been so ill this last few days im so lost without him (don’t realise how much till they are not here) so unsure what is going to happen but at the moment hes on IV fluids bless his cotton socks and they will call me in the morning to discuss further  :'( ^pray^  :'(

Xxxx

Morning ladies,

This is more like it!  Let's keep this chat going  ;D

Fancy - thanks for doing the doodle.  Think I'm going to miss this one for obvious reasons, but promise to make the next one with bells on!

Kerry - So sorry about your doggy.  I hope he makes a speedy recovery  ^reiki^ ^hugme^ . On your other point, that is exactly what this forum should be (and at its best does so well):  no matter how supportive our DH's/Friends/Family are, when it comes down to it they just don't get what we're going through and also there is a limit to how much IF chat they have a tollerance for.  I have made some fantastic genuine friends through this board who I will stay in touch with even once we crack this nut (  ^reiki^ ^reiki^ ^reiki^): welcome to the family  ;D  Incidentally, it doesn't matter whether you're IUI, IVF, ICSI, Investigations - we're all on this rollercoaster together. PS: the doodle is a calendar thingy to help pick a date for us all to meet up: everyone welcome!

JuJu - thank you for sharing the other side of the story: I was mindful that all the veterans had posted our views but it's really good to understand things from the point of view of someone newer to the forum.  Please don't feel like you're intruding by commenting on things we write - that's how you'll get to know us all better and if we didn't want it discussed we wouldn't post it on here.  Even if you don't have much to offer in terms of our questions, a hello goes a long way  :)  And please don't feel like you can't ask questions - we've all asked our fair share at one point or another!  ;D

Schnoodle - good to see you back, but sorry to hear your illness has flared up.  Don't feel like a fraud for posting when you're not going through treatment - this journey doesn't stop just because we're not cycling and this is an emotional support group as much as it is for sharing information.

Sniff - I'm well jel that you have been buying your nursery furniture, but knowing what it took to get you to where you are now, you have more than earned the pleasure! Enjoy every step  ^hugme^

Caroline - glad you're feeling chilled out this cycle: I hope it leads to good things  :)

Jennie - you need to take one of those shooting pole seat things to the concerts - set up your own little area to watch from!

Shaz - thanks for the info on getting my notes: I'll definitely get things moving while I'm back next week.

Fran - You're never too old for Easter eggs!  DH was showing me my haul (from his mum, not mine!) on Skype on Sunday! At least I know now if stocks are depleted when I return...

Kirsy - Happy holidays  ^holiday^

Hi to Skatz, Tatty, Lou, UTB, Baby, SarahJaney and anyone not mentioned personally  ^wave^

Willowstar, Catlady, Meggy (and any of the newer ladies I've missed): please don't be put off posting by our comments over the last few days - it's nice to have so many new people join, especially as so many regulars got BFPs at the end of last year so things have been quiet.  But also (as I said to JuJu above) please don't feel like you can't join in the chat with those of us who've been here for a bit longer - that's the best way to get to know everyone and (in my experience) it pays dividends when you do  ;D  Also - the doodle that Fancy mentioned is to organise a meet up: last year we met up for tea about once a month - everyone is welcome - and as I think Caroline said, its lovely once you've met people to put a face to all the names.  I was relieved after the first one that I went to that everyone was 'normal' (well, most people  ;) ) and it was just like a fun girls night out.

Morning ladies

back at work boo hoo.

Juju- please continue to ask as many questions as you like. its just nice to have a group of women to talk too about this rollercoaster.
i have only got to know people on here and consider them as friends form posting on here and then the group meetings. it has made a huge difference to me and also my Dh gets less ear ache!!. ha

kerry- hope your doggy has had a good nite. what kind of pooch is it? i love dogs.x
i had two lots of SIUI before my IVf so any questions i will try and help. i think it doesnt matter what stage or what you are at jessops for makes any diff to what we post on this thread, we are all there for the same goal. a bambino.

Sniff- thursday is good with me. text me when your free and i will bell you.  i also want a link to the furniture. you know what a nosey mare i am.  ;D. xx

Suzie- i am loving the easter egg  haul. i had one from my mum and also i bought a pack of creme eggs. i am more of a savoury person to be honest but last night i thought im going to have a creme egg so i unwrapped it and then a voice in my head said do you really want to eat this? so i wrapped it back up again in tinfoil.  i think it may be inside my belly by the weekend though.  ^witch^ is due on saturday.

Caroline- you keep chillaxed. i have everything crossed for you for this cycle. ^reiki^ ^pray^ ^reiki^ ^pray^ ^reiki^ ^pray^

have to cut this post short as i have to go in a meeting. how dare work interrupt ff!!.
x

Fran -  the vet said no change through the night so they are now putting him under for X-rays and scans  :(

He's a black lab/rotty weighing in at 65kg  :) I treat him like a human and that's why I'm finding it so hard now.

A meet up wow that would be great to put names to faces  :) (probably sat in the waiting room with a few of you  ;D)

AFM I'm working from home today but finding it had to concentrate and things not going well so hope everyone is having a better day than me  ^idiot^ x x

^hugme^

#25 ·
Kerry- i hope he is ok. He sounds like a lovable rogue though. My parents used to breed Black German shepherds when i was growing up and i love big dogs.  My DH is allergic to pets so we cant have one. I threaten to trade him in for a german shepherd when he is getting on my pip!.
hope your day is better.

AFM- meeting lasted longer than i had planned. do they not know i have 100's of emails to get through. :'(

Fancy - i have added my dates to the doodle.
I am abit limited for time this month with our weeks holiday in Alicante 22nd- 29th and then i fly off to china 5th may until tuesday 22nd so that kind of rules most of May out.

I cannot beleieve the weather today. Yesterday it rained all day  and today we have sunshine. I sound liek Mrs meldrew I know but were is the justice in that.
Our Follow up with Dr Naffee is getting closer. I hope all my blood results are back. The ones i had done at my GP's are back and all is fine. I even got copies of them from the doctors. I have got my own little medical file going on at home now.

Wow - this board has got busy! Having read all those posts I can't remember who said what!

Fran, was it you who said about Asherman's Syndrome? If you have got it it should be picked up when you have your hysteroscopy. The adhesions can be cut off. I don't know a lot about it but it was thought I might have uterine adhesions at one point and that's what I was told. I have problems with my lining thickening properly and adhesions can cause that.

Caroline, if it looks like Sunday would be the best day for egg collection the ACU team will just have a long discussion about you in their lunchtime meeting (I'd love to be a fly on the wall in that meeting!) and they'll decide whether it's best for you to have it done on Saturday or whether to leave you until Monday. They consider follicle sizes and blood results and I don't know what else. I'm impressed that your managing to relax more this cycle. Good for you.

Going to have a look at the doodle now. Thanks for doing it Fancy, and hope to see lots of you soon.
