Lynsey 12 weeks milestone! Ah how lovely xx

Gosh I am so thirsty ^drink^ Thanks for all the lovely comments regarding bump :)

Hey ladies, back after a lovely break with my girlfriends and catching up on all the posts. Wow loads have gone on.

Faithhope, lovely lovely pic of bump. Xxx

Arrows, so glad to hear meds are working and you got some decent kip last night. Must be such a relief. :)

Lynsey, fab news on your 12 week scan, your measurements are great too which all looks so positive. Hope all goes well on the results. Interesting that your dates have been changed. I was told in my hospital that regardless of my scans my due date won't change as I am ivf. I thought this was the case with everyone, obviously not though? X

Veranika, thanks for the trousers link, they look fab, going to have to check that website out!  ;D

Mamocha, ooohhhh lovely blue - congrats  ^hugme^

Shania, despite me saying I was icsi nothing has been mentioned about extra scans. I am being treated exactly the same as a non ivf er! Things are just different it seems wherever you go.

Candy, hope news is good about your little twinnie. Keeping everything crossed for you, stay away from dr google.  ^hugme^

Hi to everyone else, sunny, great expectations, Osborne and I am sure I have missed a few of us off so big wave!

Afm, midwife appt today, all grand, quick listen to baby on Doppler so all was good. So that's it until 20 week scan and then not back until 28 weeks. It feels quite odd! Glad I have my own Doppler to check in once a week in the meantime. Getting really excited that we are all getting closer to feeling some movements. Can't wait! I also went to my first pregnancy yoga class tonight, god it was lovely. Really glad I signed up.

Night ladies, wishing you all a sleep filled night without 10 loo trips!!! Xxxxx

Morning ladies,

Faithhope- your bump looks so neat, I just look like a big fat sausage in The evenings!

Arrows so glad the meds are kicking in and hopefully you start to feel more human again.  I got off so lightly with just feeling sick, I can't begin to imagine what it's like being sick all the time.  Must be so knackering!

Lynsey - great news on the scan, it gives you that sense of calm that everything will be alright.  My dates have changed from 10th march to 13th.  I hope he or she comes on 10th though as I really don't want to have a baby on Friday 13th!

Veranika - hope all is going well for you, thanks for the link, I will have a peak too. X

Sammi - have a great few days away, I'm sooo jealous as feel like I haven't been anywhere interesting for ages! Quite depressing actually.  It's my birthday in a couple of weeks so really hope DH gets the not so subtle hints I've been dropping about going away and pulls it out the bag.

Mamochka - great news on team blue, in your head did you think was a boy before you found out?  People are always asking me what do I think we are having and I just don't know.

Hilly - glad midwife went well today, we have her next week so hopefully will hear the heartbeat.

I've been having some real vivid dreams lately - quite normal in pregnancy I believe.  I'm also trying my hardest to sleep on left side, but my hip aches quite badly so have to switch to right for small lengths of time.  I hope that's ok? God there is really so much us pregnant ladies need to consider! I've also been using bio oil daily and it's doing wonders for my skin.  It smells so nice and goes a long way. Xx

Hi ladies,

First of all thank you to everyone for the well wishes to my nephew. Apparently he has some very slight improvement to one of his lungs, but is not out of the woods yet. Sounds like a little fighter though, so fingers crossed.

Faith loving the bump! Mine has definitely decreased since I stopped the cyclogest so was definitely some bloating there, but I like that that's gone now as I can see what is my definite bump!

VeraNika thanks for the link to the trousers. Definitely need to buy something soon as I seem to be expanding by the day. I have reverted to the elastic band over my jeans button to keep them together! I like that ASOS have the trouser length too as I am a short bum, so need shorter legs or else I end up tripping over my trousers! Also I would say if you've not had the dreaded phone call over test results, you will be low risk, so fingers crossed for you.

Arrows so glad you're feeling better now, such a relief! And yay to good night's sleep! Sadly something that has eluded me for the last 4 months...
Yes, I agree about the price of the Harmony test. Would have loved to have had it done, but have enough to buy for the baby as it is!

Lynsey wonderful news about the scan! And it's lovely to have the pictures too isn't it? It's also great to start telling people too. Good luck!

Hilly glad you had a lovely break and lucky you getting to have a listen to baby on Doppler! I can't wait for that, but I still have 2 1/2 weeks until my next MW appointment. Pregnancy yoga sounds lovely. I was going to sign up for aquanatal yoga, but I want to make sure all my spotting and bleeding has definitely stopped (3 days and counting). My due date was moved forward as I was measuring ahead by 4 days. I thought this was a bit odd too, as we all know exactly how old baby is, but seems the hospital go by measurements first and foremost. I will laugh if baby arrives on original due date though!!

Shania Ooh yes to the dreams too! I'm sure that's not helping my sleep either! I struggle to sleep on my left side so I'm switching back and forth all night. I think it's important to be comfortable so if your hip aches, get into a position where you're comfortable. I think left side is more important later on anyway.

AFM I'm still really suffering with tiredness. Just not sleeping through the night and then having to do a full day at work is completely doing me in. I'm in bed most nights by 9 and asleep by 9.30pm. I'm trying to make myself stay up later to see if it makes a difference, and it doesn't! I keep reading that in the 2nd trimester the toilet trips should be less as your uterus has moved up and off your bladder, but this is not the case for me! I'm just constantly looking forward to the weekends so I can sleep at the moment, which is a pain when I have so much to do! Anyway, I suppose I have years of sleepless nights to look forward to, so better get used to it ;D

Hi to everyone else *waves* I'm not going to attempt to remember everyone as I will forget people, so hope you are all well!
xx

Hi everyone ,

So much going off on here I'm struggling to keep up :)

Greatexpectations - Thanks for your kind words  ^hugme^ Sounds like my hubby that watching my every movement, even had a comment " I think your walking too fast slow down take it steady  ;D so funny. Atleast it shows they care x

Nat W - sending my positive thoughts to your SIL and family , I hope your nephew will get through this, it's amazing what doctors can do nowadays. These toilet trips are preparing us for our Little ones arrivals  ;D x

Lynsey - Fab news on your 12 week scan , it does feel a relief when you finally get there. Enjoy telling people, it's so surreal when you do! x

Faithhope - wowzers that's a nice round bump you have there :) nearly as big as mine and I'm 18 weeks with twins  ;D x

Arrows - glad the Meds have worked wonders for you x

Shania - it's defiantly normal to feel heavy down there. I was so uncomfortable I could barely turn over in bed... It did cause me alot of pain, it seems to have eased off abit in the last week or so, I'm wondering if it's the uterus moving up ? As mine started exactly around 15 weeks so seems strange yours has too! Your pregnancy not be classed as high risk unless your having multiples or had previous miscarriages :) x

Hilly - hope you had a lovely weekend in France? Glad your midwife appointment went well , I've got mine on Friday , ( she cancelled last week ) so I'm quite abit late having it which is annoying as I'm suppose to be a high risk pregnancy!
I feel movements now and again but be warned when you don't feel them for one day you start to worry...I suspect your doppler will be used more  ;D x

Hello to everyone else hope your all well x

A few people ask about my consultant appointment ....to cut a long story short it was a waste of time! They basically said the specialist hospital are covering everything so they have nothing to add at this time. Got to go back after my next specialist appointment which I presume will be another wasted trip!! I'm glad I'm in good hands at the specialist hospital the consultant there is wonderful.
Those who were talking about being high risk I'm actually a high risk pregnancy which is why I have to see a consultant ( even before my small twins problems I was still high risk ) I thought you'd be high risk VeraNika ?  ^idiot^

Well we've decided to have a private scan on Monday to find out the sex of our small twin :) not only that but because I have all my scans at the specialist hospital I don't get any photos :( I've got to have my 20 week scan there too ( well I'll be 21 weeks ) so I not get a photo then either! So looking forward to that.

Anyone going to The Baby And Toddler Show in Manchester it's on the 26th 27th 28th September,
I'm going to order my tickets today, there's loads of discount codes floating about if anyone interested I will put s few on here.

Have a good day all xxxxxxxxx

Hi candy - great idea about the private scan, and sorry your consultant appt was not great.  And I can't believe you don't get pics, that's so bad.

I think you are right about the uterus moving up, I just feel most comfortable when sitting down.

I have had 7 miscarriages so think I would be high risk? They said I would be consultant led because of my history.

I am going to the baby and toddler show at bluewater on 10th oct, I think the tickets prebooked are £7 each so going to book this weekend.

Have you had any cravings yet? Xx

#1,083 ·
Morning Shania , I'm so sorry about your previous miscarriages  :( I'm quite baffled now to why your not high risk? I would mention it at your next appointment with your midwife. They normally ask you if you've had miscarriages at your first midwife appointment? They did me.

I think it's definitely your uterus moving up, it should ease off after a could of weeks.

The manchester show is closer to me , I've never been to anything like it so I'm quite excited , hopefully will buy a few things if I can bring Myself too, I've not bought anything yet I'm too scared too.

I've not had any bad cravings , but I do enjoy spicy foods ( which I didn't before ) obviously not too spicy! And garlic thing  ;D poor hubby!
How about you? Any cravings? xxx

#1,084 ·
My m/c's are noted in my white book as well as DEIVF.  But my first midwife appt at 8 weeks was so horrific I don't think she quite grasped the situation. My proper midwife is much nicer and I'm seeing her next weds so will have a chat with her about it all.

Pasta is my downfall, I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner..  And ice cold raspberries! - haha, could be worse!  Your poor hubby with the garlic!  ;D

I've just bought bigger knickers and some clothes, the pillow and most important of all, nipple cream as one of the felt like it was literally going t drop off!! Xx

#1,085 ·
hiya ladies , very rarely post on here as i can't keep up but do sometimes read. just to let you know that we're having a little boy!!! we had a private gender scan on sunday. worth every penny! we are so excited. wishing you all a happy a healthy pregnancies.

p.s i think i may pop to the baby show next sunday, it's not far from me  xxx

Hi everyone, hope our all well,

NatW - So glad your little nephew is improving, hope he continues to do well. Lots of thoughts going out to you and the family. I didn't get my shopping trip either, and actually I think I'm kidding myself about needing maternity clothes, I lost quite a bit of weight before IVF and am still less than I was, everything is a bit tight, but not in need of maternity clothes yet! It's just work clothes (suits) that are really uncomfortable and not sure what I can do about that!

Mamochka - great news on tests - and lovely that you found out it's a boy. how lovely.

Faithhope - What a lovely bump - I want one!

Veranika - Hi! I might check out ASOS. I'm always a bit sceptical of on-line companies as nothing ever seems to fit me but might give it a go.

Arrows - so pleased you are feeling better and sleeping.

Candy - So sorry your consultant appointment was a disappointment. Hope fully your private scan will give you some reassurance and will be lovely have photos. It's a weird thing not to give photos - don't all the machines have printers, and if so it's just mean not to give you a pic (although I did have to pay for mine on NHS!)

Shania - I had exactly the same feeling at 15 weeks too - just last week, but has already eased off a little.

My cravings are for stodge too - pasta and sandwiches mostly! I'm trying to eat lots of fruit and veg but it's just not as tempting!

It's my day off today and have a few errands to run, also have some work to do from home, which is a bit annoying, but needs must!

Love to all,
X

I'd love to go to a baby show - not sure if I could convince DH but will have a look to see if there are any near me.
x

#1,088 ·
Shania , I actually rang up and swapped my midwife because I wasn't happy...she didn't no a thing about twin pregnancies and didn't seem interested in the questions I had!!! I'm glad you've got a midwife you get on with I'd definitely have a chat with about your worries.
I find when I eat pasta I can't eat much of it because it's soooo filling :)
I've only bought a pregnancy pillow but I class that as for me I've not actually bought any baby stuff. I really need to start buying to be honest as I've been told I will Only go to 8 months and I'm 4 and a 1/2 months exactly today!
My nipples are sore but not bad :) xx

aRainbow - congrats on being Team Blue  ^blueted^ ^itsaboy^  x

Greatexpectations - I had to pay for my photos at NHS scan , had to buy tokens to give to people scanning me , cost £4 per photo well cost us £8 as we've got two!
Why not hubby want to go? hope you can persuade him x

For those of you who struggle to eat your 5 a day fruit I can highly recommend Fruit smoothies you can get them from any supermarket they come in cartons like juice
I particularly like the strawberry and banana one  :) it's a good way to get all the goodness in one glass :) xxx

#1,089 ·
Candy I haven't bought anything for the baby yet! We (well DH) have to decorate our bedroom and then the nursery and neither of us are very good at it (and both work in the week!) I think I'm going to have to ask FIL to help which I hate to do but it just wont get done otherwise! The only things I have bought are the what to expect book and a pregnancy memory book, that I've not put anything in yet! I'm useless. We are so busy saving at the moment I think we will wait until after Christmas when we know exactly how much money we will have and what we can afford!

We paid £5 for our pics but did get 6 so can't complain!

Haven't asked DH, but not sure it's his thing - he might surprise me - found one at Olympia, London next month - looks ace!

Great tip on the smoothies - I love innocent ones - yummy!

#1,090 ·
Candy sorry your consultant appointment was a waste of time and what a shame you don't get photos from your specialist hospital! I don't blame you going for a private scan in that case. Pictures at our hospital (NHS) cost £4 each. DH wanted 3, but the sonographer gave us an extra one for free which was very nice of her! I'm debating about going for a private gender scan in the next couple of weeks, but my job is still so uncertain at the moment, we need to hold on to any extra pennies we can. The only thing we've bought is a little owl that plays a lullaby when you pull a cord ;D

Shania I'd definitely question your MW about whether or not you should be a high risk case as it sounds to me like you should be. I just don't understand how these things can differ so much depending on where you live!

aRainbow congrats on team blue ^blueted^

greatexpectations enjoy your day off! Hope you persuade DH to go to a show. There is one on in my city at the beginning of November, but I've not told DH yet! Might drag my sister along...

xx

#1,092 ·
Faithope, I heard that too! I hate how there is sugar and sweetener in everything. Same with the so called low-fat stuff  :-\

#1,093 ·
Greatexpectations , we've got to decorate nursery and spare bedroom too , my hubby works full time so it is hard to get started! Looks like you got a good deal £5 for your photos :) x

Nat W , that was nice to get a freebie photo :) I'm sure you'll end up going for the gender scan. The owl sounds cute x

Faithhope , smoothies drinks don't have quite the same amount of fat as a donut though!  ;D And all sugar is ok in moderation, the smoothie drinks is the only thing I have high in sugar so it really isn't harmful at all , all fresh fruit is full of sugar too but it's better to have than not have at all :) and I can honestly say there's no way 7 donuts add up to 1 glass of smoothie a day , I spent the last 2 years before becoming pregnant dieting and watching my sugar / fat intake I was a real health fanatic.
If anyone's worried just check the back on the cartons it tells you everything, just remember nothing is bad for you in moderation! xxx

I feel so lazy lounging about all day  ;D xxx

#1,094 ·
Ha ha! I just had one of those  smoothies! It was lovely! But if I'd known I could have just eaten 7 donuts instead! Don't think they have the same nutrients and vitamins though!

#1,095 ·
Greetings ladies! I would quite like a visit to a baby show literally to check out the twin/tandem buggies around as need to trade up from my beautiful silvercross which has see both dd's through to a double - I live on the south coast and they had a kiddicare superstore nearby in hedge end but it's closed! It was massive had loads of stuff to look at but the usual mothercare etc don't have the choice & I wanna test drive some!!! Faithope, I saw the uppababy yesterday that I think you currently have, never seen one before so was checking it out after what you posted! I just want one where I can have the carry cot thingy plus a pushchair seat in line but not so close together iykwim?!

Really lovely to see some of you are finding out which flavour - congrats! Seems team blue leading the way in these early days I think?? I cannot wait... Secretly hoping its a boy for dh - he says he's proud to have all girls if that's the case but I know he'll be overjoyed for a son (although he does have 2 grown up kids of each already!)

Shania - I'm not sure if I misread but did you say you are consultant led care? If you are then that means they are classing you as high risk. If you're not & I've misread ignore me! But definitely agree with others, just call your midwife & query it Hun - never ever think any question for your midwife/dr is trivial - that is what they are there for and this is so very important :)

Candy - how exciting for your private scan Monday - do you have any inklings?!

Natw - ditto tiredness yesterday especially!! I'm useless come 6pm and that's with a 2pm power nap! On a tues/weds/Thursday I'm doing 4x 20 minute walks to get dd1 to preschool so I'm blaming that!

Smoothies hmmmm, juice isn't going down week at all so ill veto that for now ;-) doughnuts on the other hand....! I'm managing veg via a roast or casserole and apples and grapes yay!!! Felt awfully sick all day today which is annoying as thought it'd improved to just am/eve hey ho!

I've deffo got a bump now and the jeggings which were oh so comfy last week are no longer!!! Meeting my manager tomorrow to share my news so be interesting what she comes up with in terms of work for the 4 weeks I'm back!

Ok, must dash tea is ready extremely early as we have an electrican in this evening ahead of our kitchen wall being knocked down tomorrow :-( I shall be washing up in the bath tomorrow! I'm chanting the Mantra "I will soon have a dishwasher.. I will soon have a dishwasher!"

Have a good evening all and hi to everyone I didn't mention above xxx

#1,096 ·
candy :) I know Hun, just rather have 7 donuts right now ;D

Osborne until the new version of uppababy vista comes out I have no idea how much distance there will be from the seat unit to the carrycot but I am so impressed by my current model that I'm having the new one regardless ;D we will sell this one as it's in very good condition and still looks good as new x I had my kitchen refitted this time last year and omg I hated evey second but it was worth it :)

God I so want a bloody donut now I started the conversation about them! Had a Belgiun bun yesterday-that was lush. I have a sweet tooth this time, not last time. I'm not eating chocolate though because I'm avoiding any caffeine.

#1,097 ·
Greatexpectations , Faithhope Only if donuts were more nutritious  ;D
You do realise I've done my online shopping and ordered some donuts ! I blame you Faithhope  ;D x

Osborne , I don't envy you having all that mess soon , hopefully not for too long and the end result will be worth it :) my nausea comes and goes still! So annoying!
I no we're already having a girl as we were told on our last scan but the other twin didn't want us to see so hoping we will find out this time :) x

#1,099 ·
Girl good evening!

Love the smoothies discussion. I am having one every morning home made. I was told by my nutritionist to stay away from juices but smoothies are OK as have a lot of fibre which slows down the sugar rush to the blood (which you have from fruit juices). I also add more fibre and protein powder into mine, rasperry, blueberry, fig, half banana, spinach (yes!!! no taste) and yogurt.

At 15w the nausea is still around lunch time if i dont eat 3.5 hours after a smoothie, also i blame it on reflux which kind of prompts hunger pangs.

Osborne - they do say boys are more happening with ART as they put back the most active and fastest embryos which tend to be boys at this stage (but only at this stage said my Consultant and winked at my OH)

Girls, can anyone recommend maternity bras which are not lacking the charm and appeal! Would be great to share ideas.

Mamox
