IVI Cycle Buddies part 21

Nicnik - have you had your call yet? I guess so as I'm coming to this a bit late. How did it go? Did you manage to make a list of questions and get all the answers you need? Re OE/DE - I guess that depends on what's more important to you and if you have any cut off. Eg you may have an age cut off for giving birth (an own personal thought on it) which, if close to that, you might be swayed more towards DE for example. If you don't have that own imposed restriction or even a financial restriction then it may be worth trying again with OE. But if it's a case of only being able to afford one more go, then perhaps DE would be more likely to result in a child. Ultimately it's a hard choice and only one you can make. I find making pros and cons lists. My friend who told me about this site had 7 OE IVF failed cycles; 1 boy from DE and then got pregnant naturally with her daughter. She says she loves them both equally. Good luck!

Joboby - I can imagine being a nurse does take your mind off it while you're there! 2 more sleeps for me. Yes I've booked an appt weds lunchtime. Have you? I think I'll do the HPT in the morning.

Bianca - sorry about your dog. Hopefully he'll make a speedy recovery! Not long til your ERA result, right?

Sfbetts1 - how are you?

Jane - when's your next scan? All still going well? Did I ask this before, did they tell you the sex of the embryos?

    Morning ladies,

Nicnik how was your call with the doctor? I fully understand your concerns over DE , we had the same but once we had had 2 failed OEIVF cycles due basically to my old eggs, we took time out. I can honestly say that I don't even think about the eggs being donor, they are my babies that I am carrying, I am feeding them, it's my blood etc, truly it doesn't enter my mind and if for a second it does its in a grateful way nothing else. You will come to a decision that's right for you  ^hugme^

Hereshoping & JoBoby, how are you both doing? Not long now, really hoping for positive news for you both. JoBoby, we didn't home test until after the HCG, but when we got the news we wanted to see it on a stick  ;D! Btw constipation isn't a bad sign  ;) Hereshoping, in case I can't get on here later, good luck for tomorrow, oh & spotting was a good sign for me, so hopefully for you too   ^hugme^

Bianca how's little Rubén? We have one of those collars for ours, far more user friendly  :). Should you be getting your ERA today  / tomorrow?

Collette, I'm a Zita West fan too but I haven't got that book, I use her vitamins. Are you going to chase IVI up about some news for your donor? How long has it been now, is it 2 months?

Wheezy09 I'm so sorry to hear about the negative result  ^hugme^. I agree with the others with regards to selecting a clinic, Barcelona or Madrid are much easier, IVI have also opened a clinic in London so I hear but not sure what the DE programme is like due to different regulations in the UK.

I hope everyone else is ok.

Afm, we had a horrible Sunday with lots of horrible discharge & dull aching so went for a scan yesterday & im extremely relieved to say that both babies are doing well, they have grown massively, they were 2 days behind their age in days at the first scan & now they are 2 days ahead which is fantastic. I think I will have another scan in 2 weeks when we are nearly 10 weeks and then the NHS will kick in. I have an appointment this morning with a specialist in London, my plan is to see her on a monthly basis working alongside the NHS , at least until I am off all of the drugs. Hereshoping, I didn't know that they could tell you the sex of the embryos but apparently with a 4D scan we can find out at 14 weeks.

Have a good day everyone xxx

Not so good that you have been having aches glad everything ok and glad you are having checks regularly until NHS kicks in

    Hello everyone.

Jane - so sorry to hear you've had a tough time, but so very glad it's all ok. I was getting a bit worried when we hadn't heard from you in a couple of days. Has everything calmed down now? What's the date of your next scan? I hope you're taking it easy and not working too hard. Which clinic are you doing your scans with? Good luck with your appt. Let us know how it goes.

Collette - good idea to chase them up next week. I found them a bit slow to begin with too.

Joboby - not long to go. My boobs are killing me too. I thought this could also be the drugs.  I keep getting random shooting pains around my body - in my chest/ stomach/ legs etc. That's not too unusual for me but it's freaking me out a little now as I think I'm just more sensitive. I'm going to Harley Street Fertility clinic for the blood test. Basically as I can get there and back (hopefully) in my lunch. I won't get the results until the evening so it's going to be a looooong day. I did pee on a stick this morning and it was positive but I'm not reading too much into it until I hear back from the real doctors tomorrow! (but yes Jane I'm still saying positive mantras ;-)) Joboby - I'll be impressed if you don't give in!

One question - can I start exercising again? I'm desperate to. Partly as weirdly I have more energy now than I've had in years. I think this might be as I was going through POF but now with all the hormones it's taking me back to how I was at 30! Can I do pilates? Swimming? Aerobics (I was doing insanity - I guess that's too hardcore?)

Nicnik - how are you doing? I hope that you're coping ok and that when you spoke to the doctor he helped.

Right, pessary time :-) Sleep well everyone.

Just a very quick note for now to say best of luck for your blood test today Hereshoping! The fact you've had a positive POA tells me it's going to be very good news for you!  :)

I'll write back properly later today to everyone else. xxx

Hereshoping, I am so excited for you! I can't imagine for a second that your pee on a stick is wrong, they are very sensitive and accurate. Going to follow your very sensible lead and not get too excited yet but actually inside I'm screaming yayyyyyyyyyyy!
Assuming it's all confirmed if you need an obstetrician, I saw an amazing lady yesterday on Gt Portland Str who I would strongly recommend. Ref exercise, I personally haven't resumed any, it's been a conscious decision but suspect I will start swimming & yoga around 12 weeks. Far too scared to do anything to be honest, other than walking of course. I think you have to go with how you feel, but definitely not insanity I would say.

JoBoby, hold on in there only 24 hours to go  ^hugme^ :-*

Sfbetts, I hope you're having a good holiday.

Nicnik, sending you lots of hugs, I hope you are doing ok  ^hugme^

Collette I used the Zita West pre-pregnancy vitamins and have now moved on to the pregnancy ones, it's hard to judge how good they are but I assume given that I am healthy that they are good. Sounds like your plan to chase next week is a good one.

    Bianca how's the pooch?

I'm planning another scan at 10 weeks & then over to the NHS at 12 weeks, just really want to get through these first weeks precious weeks safely.

    Xxx

    hi all
jane i will stick to my pre pregnancy folic acid stick with what I know and happy with and I might try the zita west pregnancy when it happens for me or the others plenty to choose from yep as I said to hubby and mum I am sitting patient at the moment but come next week if I haven't heard anything my dog with a bone attitude will kick in if I haven't heard anything hahahaha

hereshoping it sounds like you are pregnant hun pee sticks don't generally lie 99 per cent accurate usually gentle exercise maybe swimming if up to it but end of day preferably choice there is no right or wrong with when you want to start exercise I think the healthier you the better chance in my book

hope all had a good day
    speak to you all soon
    Colette
