Some other clinics in Turkey
« on: 29/03/11, 10:20 »
I found surprisingly little on some of the ivf centres in turkey, except of course the most advertised ones (in English that is) but through various correspondence with people, have come across a few more. Please look at this link - the first page of correspondence: https://www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=256144.0

Good luck

Quelle - you are a star - thanks for that - most useful.

Just by the way, went to see a doc in Romania - he made me do a long list of blood tests and other investigative tests before he would start my next IVF (I'll put a list together and post it - just look for my name). Anyway, turns out - the blood tests show some sort of thyroid problem, which he thinks was the main reason for the failed IVF's and infertility ( PAI-1 test came back "homozigota" - have no clue but will look it up) and anti TPO levels not good. He presribed anti coagulatory medication for me and depending on the results of the other blood tests, I may need thyroid hormone. But basically - I have a feeling he is right, mainly due to the fact that, about 2 months ago, I started taking 75mg of aspirin a day (I read it on someone else's post). I had also been taking DHEA and various other supplements prior to that. The only other new thing I took was CoQ10 (started about 2 months ago too). Anyway, I just had a natural BFP about a week ago. Early days I know, but, saw the doc yesterday and he thinks that the thyroid thing caused early miscarriages (that I would not have know about) and basically caused the failed IVFs. The reason I am telling you this is - I saw you had a miscarriage - make sure you have these other thing checked, as, now that I am reading up on it -other people have the same experience and it could be as simple as some anti coagulatory meds!

Hey mfmcmoo!!! What good news you have :) I know it is still early days and there are much to be anxious about but that is still splendid news! I pray and hope from the bottom of my hearth that this one goes all the way for you!!!
I have my thyroid checked and all seems normal, TSH is 1.36, way below the upper limit of Follicular Phase.  I will still ask about the coagulants though :) That is still a good point and if all goes well I will have EC 9th of April... So seems like the right time to ask, don't you think?  ;D
Please keep us posted on how you get on!  ^reiki^  ^reiki^  ^reiki^

Jade-Hey so glad you've got the all clear. What huge relief after so much worry. Well done for getting through that!
Hi tigger! Lyndsay gave me a pretty clear picture, I would check with her the run down. It might be different for each of us. Generally she gives you the donor list, then you start from the bleed after that. From what I gather anyway.

Hey all, my DE protocol says 3x 2mg per day progynova from day 2 of cycle, but a. Doesn't say if I take all in one go, and with or without food and b. the foot note in my protocol indicates 1 a day. Unusually Lynsday didn't reply to my emails today, I'm on day 2 so I took one pill but am worried I should take more. I'm completely in the dark on this one....

    Thank you!

Not sure if any of the emails were directed at me. I am going to try and dig out the info that Quelle gave me re the best clinics. I went to Anadolou. but got 2 BFN with them. Later I got a natural BFP and DD born 8 months ago.

This is a quote from a message from Quelle "
    Hey there,e
I wasn't sure if I was the correct reciepient of your last PM. I sincerly do not remember asking you about clinics... If so sorry I forgot  :)
BTW more info on clincs that can be used in Turkey:
Memorial Hospital: They have the best Lab in Turkey and they can do all kinds of genetic screening
EuroFertil: Also has a good lab and high success rate. A friend has succeeded there eventhough she had enyzme issues and all her reccomended friends also succeeded as well. However the chemistry between doc and you might be an issue. She got on well but some of her friends had issues. Will go and see for myself this week hopefully as I might change Kadikoy Sifa. The vendor providing the IVF lab materials is a friend of ours and he has given us inside info on who is buting top grade tools and solutions etc. Eurofetil seems to be within that group hence strong success rates.
Bahceci Umut Bebek: An other branch of Bahceci Clinic I have previously sent you. However a friend who works in private health insurance said to me that they ask you to do all kinds of lifestyle changes that makes you lose time (losing weight etc) and ask many tests that is tiring for the patients and expensive. But they have a high success rate as a result.
    "

And a second message quote from Quelle
    Hi mfmcmoo,
I am having my treatment in Istanbul but not in Anadolu. I am Turkish and my husband is a MD himself so we have the opportunity to acquire information amongst the doctors circle. The top 2 clinics names I have been given by my Ob/Gyn of 20 years and DH's fellow doctor's are BAHCECI Clinic and KADIKOY SIFA HOSPITAL. We opted for the second one, they are not as posh as Anadolu or Bahceci but the IVF team there is renowned for their success rate. There are also others like MEMORIAL Hospital, ACIBADEM Hospital and as you can see from the board JINEMED. I am not sure how they are admitting foreign couples but we are also paying form own pocket so I thought it my worth for you to check as well, if you wish. I do not know if you wish to continue with the treatment or not but just wanted to share what I know.
    Good Luck,
