Hello,
Thinking of doing my next cycle in South Africa, please anyone who would update me on roughly the cost of the procedure so that i can compare it to my previous cycles here to see if i can afford it there! Would highly appreciate. Thank you.

    Hi there

I think my cycle cost about 45-60,000 rand, that was at the Medfem in Johannesburg.  That was inclusive of drugs up until egg collection.  Deduct around 11,000 rand off if you don't need ICSI.  I think CFC in Cape Town have their fees on the website.

Hope this helps - let me know if you need any other info.

    Kind Regards

    Milly

    Hi,

Prices can vary from city to city, Pretoria is less expensive then the rest, there is Kloof Hospital and then Pretoria Fertility Centre, I went to the latter and paid about 30 000 rand for DE IVF, in late 2010.

Worth checking with them, as lately I have still read that they are less expensive than CT.

    Good luck,

    D

    Hiya,

My experience is that SA (I'm with CFC) is v. reasonable. But if you're traveling from overseas please factor in (off the top of my head):
    travel
    accomodation
    bank transfer fee
    meds costs
    donor agency costs
donor sperm (if shipped in) costs
    embryo storage costs
    subsistance

even with all of the above it has still worked out cheaper for us in SA than the UK

     :)

Hi I had treatment with Dr Ramdeo at the Care Clinic in Durban, South Africa.

    www.careclinic.co.za

He is brilliant and has outstanding embrylolgists onboard and wonderful clinic and staff.

I did four rounds of fresh IVF with them and at each on they achieved 100% fertilisation and I had top quality embryos.

A round of IVF or ICSI with Own eggs is around 3500 -4000 all inclusive of drugs, bloods, medication, scans and consults.
The difference is in the UK they cost usually without drugs and bloods and these can be very costly. Travel and accomodation not included.

Average costs of my other cycles in the UK:-

    ARGC - 8000 - 10 000
    CRGH - 11 000
    LFC - 7000
Create - 4000 it was a mild drug cycle so very little spent on drugs.

Hope that helps and whereever you go, you find your dreams!! ^hugme^

Looks like it costs less than half what it cost in the UK in SA?
