Hi all
I am currently researching greek (and czech) clinics after 3 failed attempts at IVF. I have spoken briefly with Penny at Serum who was lovely but I am keen to know about other clinics. I have also had some contact with Dr Paraschos at Embio and am considering also New Life, Embryoland etc. There seems to be very little discussion about these clinics as it seems most ladies come looking for a recommendation and so there is a continued trend towards Serum. You will understand that this is a big decision and I am trying to be thorough.
Many thanks
Hoosie

    Hi Hoosie,

Sorry to hear about your failed IVFs.

I have no personal experience but there was a thread similar to this asking about Embio previously.  See this link

I am also interested in other clinics. I have seen the post on Embio but was wondering if any more recent experience of there of other clinics.

hoosie - I used the Life Clinic (not to be confused with New Life) which is run out of the Genesis Hospital by Dr Papanikolou. A few of us on here have used him, but not many. However although I have now given up TTC I really liked and rated him and his staff.

hoosie... can you let me know if you have any direct responses about this? I don't quite understand why there is such a minimal response. I don't doubt that ladies are happy with Serum but surely there must be other experiences out there? Even if it's just from initial contact with the clinics. Violet, many thanks for your response and good luck for the future. I will contact Life Clinic with my questions so I can compare.

    Hiya

I am Greek so my response is based on friends' and family's experience and what is 'common knowledge' for the Greeks
Dr Paraschos is amazing and a celebrity in Greece, he has fantastic success over there, thats his site http://www.ivf-embryo.gr/
Dr Pantos really good as well and MANY celebrities/well off people have gone to him. I am definitely going to him if I have no luck in uk for no 2. That's the site http://www.genesisathens.gr/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2&lang=el

No other clinic is as good as these two!!

My sister just had ivf here http://www.eugonia.com.gr/en/ and I have to admit she wasn't happy (bfn and bad response) so wudnt recommend

    Good luck xxx

It is really interesting to get your view based on local experience. I came across a greek infertility forum ...  but it was ... err.. in Greek... so I couldn't get the information I needed!!! I can see from the Embryo website that Dr Paraschos is quite the celebrity and I was concerned this might not be a good thing. However, whilst his initial response was quite abrupt, he has gone on to be very informative.  I understand that clinics are busy and so I can cope with abrupt - I am interested in results! I will definitely add Genesis to my list of clinics to investigate. I am not unhappy with my current clinic but feel it's time to try something else and that is why I really want to make sure I am happy with my decision.

Good luck with your own journey in the UK. I hope things work out for you.

    Nikki / Violet

Can I just check something? It seems to me that both the clinics you mention are run out of the Genesis hospital? Is that correct? There seems to be quite a lot of information on the Life Clinic website (http://www.lifeclinic.gr/) re: overseas treatment etc but not very much on the 'Genesis athens' website (http://www.genesisathens.gr/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2&Itemid=15) as if I'm correct this is a specialist IVF clinic that is actually part of the main hospital. I'm not looking for a good website so this is not a problem!! I just want to make sure that I understand that these are two different clinics before I send my long list of questions to them both!

I really appreciate your help. Sorry to hijack your thread hoosie!

Gensis is a big fertility hospital in Athens. When you go you'll see lots of Greek women being treated. The consultants we mention operate from there - using their facilities, nurses and donor banks.

Janie yes two different clinics. U need the Genesis one and the doctor to go for is dr kostas Pantos (the best)!!
If I were u I'd go down there and ask for a consultation with dr pantos and dr paraschos
U can send me the details of the Greek forum if u like and I ll translate it for u

Greeks cud seem abrupt at times to people, dont mind them  :) but good with results
