Sweatpea, I have lower AMH with you and was told I would need donor in February 2011. I'm just about to start another cycle with a surro (due to my immune issues) but again with OE - I have not gone onto donor yet.
IMO ARGC are a waste of space and I wouldn't bother with them. I had the worst result ever with them. My best results have been with Serum and FGA, where they actually do tailor the treatment to you (unlike ARGC who claim to tailor the treatment but instead really offer a one size fits all approach). In terms of treatment, you should NOT be doing long protocol - nor should you be doing antagonist (which is what ARGC do). I found my best results were a much softer approach than going in all guns blazing with the highest possible dosages of drugs because of my AMH (which ARGC did). That level of drugs can really harm egg quality, which ARGC denied but IMO, the results speak for themselves.
With argc, I got 11 eggs - but in the end only had 1 x 3 day to transfer - for various reasons most of which I'm still fuming about. I dissuade anyone who asks from going there. It's like a battery farm. Obviously a lot of people swear by them but I think it's utter nonsense that 'they get the best results' . They get the best results for a certain type of patient. They don't listen to you and treat you as a number rather than a person. The ladies who get the best results are not ladies with low AMH or real immune issues, they are ladies who need to overcome pcos or similar, which are very simple things to get past with the right treatment.
*phew*
Anyway, with Serum I got 10 eggs - all fertilised and I had 3 blasts transferred at day 5
FGA I got 10 eggs - again all fertlised and I had 2 blasts transferred at day 5 together with one frostie.
My protocol with Serum and FGA was a very short D/R of a week (from CD21) - on 0.2ml Suprecur, then much lower dose stimms rather than the full whack.
I take CoQ10 (I had to reduce the dosage as the levels in my system were huge) - 125mg and I also take DHEA - 35mg micronised each day (together with all manner of other supplements).
I would not give up on OE if I were you, I would just go to a clinic that listens to you, rather than one which blindly tells you what to do regardless of your situation. I would also go to a clinic who look at what goes on with the cycle itself, rather than getting wrapped up in superficial numbers like AMH. With both Serum and FGA, they didn't even want to know my AMH, they just did a scan to see what my AFC was and went from there. Your AFC is great, so it is then up to the doctors to make sure your stimms dosages are right to promote steady growth. Sounds to me like you need someone who does the same.
