Sorry if that's not spelt right my iPhone had a mind if its own.

Argc won't treat you if you have high fsh but lister specialise in older ladies with low amh, high fsh and low afc. I was 37, had fsh of 32, amh of 1.6 and afc of 4. My lister consultant considered me young with age on my side.

I can't recommend the lister enough my signature will tell you why :-)

I took pregnacare conception, omega oils, co enzyme q10, wheatgrass and did acupuncture.
Good luck

Jules

    Hello ladies,
Thanks for the responses, I've just had a letter from argc with an app which is sooner than what I was expecting!! And it falls in line with apps with lister and create! Does anyone know if argc do mild stim ivf?
I've also got an appointment booked for acupuncture with a very lovely lady who will advise on diet and supplements too, she has a mass of knowledge and is zita west affiliated and specialises in fertility, we had a lengthy chat and I'm looking forward to it! I'm down but I'm not beaten yet!
Has anyone tried progreens powder? I've received it today and had my first try....YUCK!!! But all this is making me question whether I'm spending far too much money on supplements! Here's my list:
Pregnacare conception with fish oil capsule, 1200mg royal jelly, 400mg coq10, b vit complex, vit c 500mg with 5mg zinc, l'arginine 500mg, 200mg alpha lipioc acid, progreens powder 1 every other day. I was still thinking of adding selenium, resvertrol and pregnyol (not sure how u spell the last two)...just starting to feel getting all out of hand, I have a good diet and exercise!!
Hope all you ladies are keeping well xxx

    Hi sweetpea,

I have been taking DHEA for 3 months now. no side effects to speak of really - few spots on my back. I bought mine from Biovea as recommended by nurse consultant at a clinic in Chester.

I am starting 1st IVF cycle in a few weeks - have been told I have to have short cycle due to my age and AMH. I am having my treatment at Liverpool.

I'm also taking pregnacare conception and low dose aspirin. I haven't heard about taking coenzyme Q10 - what is the thinking behind this do you know??

Really hope that you get a better response from whichever clinic you decide to go for.

    YC xxxx

Q enzyme 10 is supposed to improve egg quality. 200mg daily is the average. I believe there is alot of research about it and it's proven to help. I have heard that the lister advises 600mg daily to their ladies. My clinic advised it. It's not cheap, but what is in the game!

Sweatpea, I have lower AMH with you and was told I would need donor in February 2011.  I'm just about to start another cycle with a surro (due to my immune issues) but again with OE - I have not gone onto donor yet.

IMO ARGC are a waste of space and I wouldn't bother with them.  I had the worst result ever with them.  My best results have been with Serum and FGA, where they actually do tailor the treatment to you (unlike ARGC who claim to tailor the treatment but instead really offer a one size fits all approach).  In terms of treatment, you should NOT be doing long protocol - nor should you be doing antagonist (which is what ARGC do).  I found my best results were a much softer approach than going in all guns blazing with the highest possible dosages of drugs because of my AMH (which ARGC did).  That level of drugs can really harm egg quality, which ARGC denied but IMO, the results speak for themselves.

With argc, I got 11 eggs - but in the end only had 1 x 3 day to transfer - for various reasons most of which I'm still fuming about.  I dissuade anyone who asks from going there.  It's like a battery farm.  Obviously a lot of people swear by them but I think it's utter nonsense that 'they get the best results' .  They get the best results for a certain type of patient.  They don't listen to you and treat you as a number rather than a person.  The ladies who get the best results are not ladies with low AMH or real immune issues, they are ladies who need to overcome pcos or similar, which are very simple things to get past with the right treatment.

    *phew*

Anyway, with Serum I got 10 eggs - all fertilised and I had 3 blasts transferred at day 5

FGA I got 10 eggs - again all fertlised and I had 2 blasts transferred at day 5 together with one frostie.

My protocol with Serum and FGA was a very short D/R of a week (from CD21) - on 0.2ml Suprecur, then much lower dose stimms rather than the full whack.

I take CoQ10 (I had to reduce the dosage as the levels in my system were huge) - 125mg and I also take DHEA - 35mg micronised each day (together with all manner of other supplements).

I would not give up on OE if I were you, I would just go to a clinic that listens to you, rather than one which blindly tells you what to do regardless of your situation.  I would also go to a clinic who look at what goes on with the cycle itself, rather than getting wrapped up in superficial numbers like AMH.  With both Serum and FGA, they didn't even want to know my AMH, they just did a scan to see what my AFC was and went from there.  Your AFC is great, so it is then up to the doctors to make sure your stimms dosages are right to promote steady growth.  Sounds to me like you need someone who does the same.

Totally agree with Mandy - my clinic were also ready to give up on me on our first cycle - but I was immensely stubborn - got second opinions and stick to my guns !!

And you can see from my signature it had worked. We know are bodies better and just have faith in that and keep believing you can get there. Don't listen to all the negatives you are told
