Treatment at Barcelona IVF - Part 3

Hello ladies

Great news all round!
Monkey face - as discussed on pm, I'm so thrilled for you. Hang in there. I know how hard this must be. I had red bleeding too round about my test date. Hopefully they levels will be going up. I didn't get a blood test - I just trusted that a darker line meant it was growing.

Huma - great news :) not long now until bcn. You must be so relieved the drugs finally worked.
Sending you both positive vibes xxx

I am doing well. Our 12 week scan went well last week and baby was there dancing around and waving. Heartbeat was strong and all limbs, digits and even nails are all there. It was really amazing to see the detail... All 5.6cm - it's little nose...etc.  Baby was grabbing its knees and responding to the prodding by the doctor.  I had an internal scan as well to measure the cervix. I had slight little bleeding for two mornings after the internal scan so I'm just hoping the scan nicked something (I'm prone to bleeding after an internal)... Bleeding has now stopped.  I am feeling less tired and headachey now but it's still definitely there. I feel relieved and amazed I've got this far and feel very lucky.  Told my boss but not sure when to tell work colleagues. I'm not showing enough yet, just look a bit fat and I can get away with baggy clothes.
X

    Hi Ladies

    Hope your all well....

Monkeyface how are you feeling has the bleeding stopped and how were your bloods yesterday praying that the levels are increasing nicely let us know how you get on sending you loads of hugs xxx

Jasmineatea wow that's wonderful news so glad and happy for you that you have got past the three month milestone it must have been such a relief to see the little one dancing around in your tummy as it is all so real now  ;D  keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on ... big hugs to you too xxx

AFM I had my lining scan yesterday and it only measured 5.7mm but I am waiting for more instructions from Bareclona. Dr Gorgy has said that as there is still time he can give me something to thicken the lining so am just waiting for Dr Olivares to get back to me. I am so glad the drugs have worked and have been told that they will continue to lower the NK cells whilst I'm on treatment so fingers crossed they behave themselves.

    Heh ladies...

Thanks you all, I'm cautiously happy at the minute. I get my blood results back some time today so fingers crossed they are ok. I've been checking with the digital test and I'm up to 2-3 weeks on it now so it must have gone up slightly. I've also sussed the bleeding.... I stopped using the pessaries through the "front door" and started using the cyclogest I had with my last cycles through the "back door" and the bleeding has stopped. I can only think that they must have been irritating what little cervix I have left.

Huma don't worry about your lining... Remember mine was only 6.1mm four days before transfer and I didn't take anything extra. I'm so glad you aren't too far from transfer now. Please let us know when you go over. It's going to be lovely in Barcelona now... When I went it was so busy but also very warm.

Jasminetea I'm happy your scan went well. It must be a little relief to know everything is fine at this stage. I can see why people worry as I'm one day past OTD and I've been stressing for weeks and I know it's not going to end.
How much cervix do you have left then? Have they said what special measures they are going to put in place?

Anyway have a lovely week, I'll keep you updated on how I get on.

    Hi All

    Hope everyone is well?

Monkeyface how are you doing how were your blood tests hope they are increasing nicely? Glad your bleeding has stopped sending you big hugs xxxx

Jasmineatea how are you feeling have your headaches subsided and have you managed to tell friends and family your fabulous exiting news?

AFM: After my last scan Dr Olivares asked me to increase the tablets to five and rescan. Thankfully, my lining has increased to 8mm which they are very happy with and egg collection is Thursday hopefully all being well we may be able to have the transfer on Tuesday as its a bank holiday in Barcelona on Monday. I'm so nervous but very excited at the same time praying everything goes well.

    Hi Huma,

That's great news with your lining. I'm so glad it's going well for you. Tuesday isn't too far away and Barcelona will be lovely, especially after the rain we've had the last few days.

I only had a second blood test and it has doubled but was still very low. I was sent for a scan at EPU yesterday and they found a small sac but nothing inside so hopefully it's too early. I've got to go back in two weeks for another one. I never realised what came after that BFP... its like a never ending roller coaster.  :)

Let us know how you get on.

    Hi Huma
That's brilliant news you are all ready to go. Must seem like you've been waiting an age. All the best in bcn xx

Monkey face- how you feeling? Sorry to hear the sac was empty. Hopefully it was too early. How far gone are you now? 6 weeks?  I've read that early ultrasounds sometimes don't show much and everyone is different. Are you still doing pee sticks?
    Sending you positive thoughts xxx

I'm doing good. Had my high risk appt with the specialist consultant last week. I'm the second person she has treated with my no cervix condition and she wants to run lots of extra tests on me to gather more data. I'll be given fibro Nectin tests earlier than normal and I'm seeing her every two weeks. She is no pro bed rest which is great :)
Aldo she told me there's no data re exercise and midwives have no evidence to give me the advice they've given me. So I'm off swimming today.

    Xx

    Hi jasminetea,

I'm good thanks. Yeah should be about 6 weeks now. I'm hoping it's a slow starter due to low levels in the beginning so just going to wait and see what happens. The weeks are really dragging though... I just want to know now! I'm like a child, if it's good news then great but if it's not I don't want to drag it out.

I'm glad your appointment went well. It's always better when you have someone who understands our surgery and potential problems. It's looks like your doctor will be keeping a good eye on you which is what is needed.

I take it you've been told not to exercise... I'm sure at this early stage it won't be a problem... Enjoy your swimming. It's probably the best exercise anyway.

I'll let you know what happens at my scan. Only 10 more days to wait.

    Hi Ladies

Hope you both are well and enjoying the sunshine.

Just wanted to let you know that we got 10 mature eggs out of which 8 fertilised normally fingers crossed they continue to grow strong. We are off to Barcelona tomorrow and will have two days to relax before our transfer on Tuesday and then back home Tuesday evening. It's seems to have taken ages to get to this point and I am feeling nervous for Tuesday but hoping everything goes well!!.

Romana my co-ordination has given the option to have accupuncture before and post transfer and wanted to ask if any of you had this whilst you were there? I've always had accupuncture before and after transfer in London but wasn't sure if the lady at BCN is any good?

Jasmineatea glad to hear you are ok and the high risk appt went well and that you are being monitored quite closely hopefully that will put your mind at ease. Enjoy your exercises and swimming 🙂

Monkeyface hang in there you normally get to see a heart beat from 6 weeks onwards so I'm sure everything will be fine let us know how the scan goes.

    Big hugs to everyone xxxx

That's great news Huma... I'm sure you will plenty of embryos by Tuesday. I never did have acupuncture but I'm sure the lady is good.

Have a lovely time in BCN and good luck for Tuesday.  :)

    Hi Ladies

    Hope your all well.

Monkeyface thanks for the well wishes how are you feeling? have you organised a private scan to see the heartbeat or will you just wait until the EPU scan?

Jasmineatea hope your ok and the baby bump is growing nicely  ;D

AFM: We had a lovely time in Barcelona and the weather was fab - so hot!! We had two beautiful embryos transferred on Tuesday and managed to freeze 6 embryos but I am hoping we will not need them.!!

I've only been back 2 days and have taken some time off the but days are passing by really slowly - I think I will go back to work next week at least that will keep my mind occupied with other stuff!!
