Congratulations! Whirlygig Thats an inspiring story, so pleased for you. I'm turning 45 next week so its a tough time at the moment, especially following two recent failures. Stories like yours and the support of some amazing ladies on here is the only thing that gives me hope to carry on.
Wishing you all the best xx

Like most others say it's a numbers game and the road could be that bit tougher with a few more kinks too 😉 had my twins at 41 so do go for it all the way x

I've got a 10 week old asleep next to me and I'm 42, UK clinics said I wouldnt get pregnant with own eggs (my AMH was 1.8 when last tested too so much lower than yours), we had success with Serum in Greece, I think high doses of stims were giving me rubbish quality eggs on previous cycles in UK. Good luck xx

Bishmyster, thank you for asking the question. My situation is very similar to yours and the answers were giving me hope. Keep trying. I will continue to try with my own eggs regardless of the same advice given in U.K. And Bulgaria. Only Serum is giving me advice to keep trying and so far the only clinic that got me pregnant!

Whirligig and Gemini40 would you share what might helped you get pregnant? I am trying acupunture, TCM, herbal medication etc but not sure if they have positive effect. I am a bit more hopeful now it is possible even naturally as I had a natural pregnancy recently.

    Hi KatiPati,

That's so promising that you had a natural pregnancy recently. Sorry that it didn't continue.

To be honest, I don't think there was any magical combination for me. On unsuccessful IVF cycles, I tried acupuncture, pills, potions, anything I could to increase my chances. However, the 2 sticky IVF cycles, I didn't do any of those. The doctor did the transfer under ultrasound guidance and wiggled the needle a bit beforehand. I wonder if 'scratching' the lining helped? Think it was a version of endometrial scratching.

With the natural pregnancy (my 1st born), I'd had an HSG (hysterosalpingogram) a couple of weeks before becoming pregnant. I had it to diagnose adhesions which had happened with the D&C I'd had for the previous miscarriage. Completely shocked to find that I was pregnant that cycle! I was told that it likely broke up the adhesions and had flushed everything and helped me get pregnant.

I can't conclusively say that any of those helped, but in my case, I had success!

Thank you for sharing your story. I had 2 hysteroscopies so far. May be the second one helped as it was before the last ivf when I got pregnant. Where did you do the  Acupuncture? Did you take chines medication with it?

I live in Australia, had acupuncture done in Sydney. I didn't take Chinese medicine, although I did ask about it and was very open to doing so. I was told there wasn't any point in my case. Not sure why, but I didn't ask further. He's a fertility specialist.
