BFP Due Date July / August 2018

Twinkle toes- your big scan is looming , woo hoo! Working full time and  feeling so rubbish must have been awful, glad to hear you are much better now .

Long and winding- Great news on your obs appointment and being back to regular midwife care. How reassuring.

Sm89- I'm with you on shopping for baby clothes, gone crazy on ebay. Didn't buy anything last time as too anxious. This time round I'm determined to enjoy every minute, even daring to bond with the babies too.. And we have named them already  ;)
If something is going to happen not good,  it will and at least there will be good memories.

Have you brought anything besides clothes? Come on now
'fess up  ;D

Yes we had a private scan, it was a lovely experience, so different to our nine week one. We used baby bond and got a 4D glimpse, amazing. The sonographer quadruple checked their 'bits' even getting us pictures of them.  With twins we do get scanned every four weeks from week twenty. I saw the 16 week scan  as part of a continuum, so there would be  no longer than a four week interval between scans since week 6. I totally get what you are saying about more scans , if we were having one I'd definitely have more than the NICE guidelines. Before our FET, I'd even budgeted in for 'extra' scans. I do like to plan ahead lol  :)

Are you considering any more scans or will you hold out till the 15th of March to see your son again? By then you'll be 19 weeks so maybe have some quickening for intermediate reassurance.

Favecolourblue- 17 weeks, you are 2 days ahead of me, have you had any movement yet? Lovely to hear your babies heartbeats  ^Heart^ ^Heart^ Think I'm having some odd fluttering here and there, albeit very vague.

Anilee- sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly still. Not used Gaviscon ever, only those pastel Rennie tablets which worked well but I wasn't pregnant.

Sallysmiles- How bloody rude and what a cheek. 40 is NOT old. I can vouch for that  ;D
My GP has a similar outlook and it really winds me up. I've even been prescribed baby aspirin by the consultant as being 40 means 'I'm at risk of preeclampsia. Have you been prescribed it?
It's hard not to let it get to you, the lack of compassion in the framing of the elderly inferences . I've decided I'm just going to tune out and only hear what is needed and nothing else. I was upset at first though to be honest.

Dreamer - I'm the same, I know I should have probably waited but I just want to enjoy the pregnancy. Ah lucky you already having names! We are stuck so far, we've shortlisted a few but still not 100% stuff. Was thinking of going in with two and then seeing what he looks like! We'll see  ;D I have  ;D  ^idiot^ I've actually bought the nursery furniture too! But in my defence I seen a really good deal on aldi special buy, for the full nursery set for 350. It's practically identical to the Silver Cross Set in John Lewis which is 1500! I just couldn't leave it! Trying to ease on the clothes now as at this rate he'll have far too much but it's just too hard! I feel like I've definitely already bonded with him too, it is hard not too  ^hugme^

Lovely that you got a 4D glimpse! I haven't had that yet! Debating booking a scan for next weekend as me my partner and our mums are going to a baby show so it'd be nice to have a scan in the afternoon so they can see the baby. Plus it'll give me some peace of mind until the middle of March. Have you felt movement yet? I imagine you'd feel it earlier on than a singleton because there is two in there but not sure. My placenta is at the front so I've been told I'm unlikely to feel much until after 20 weeks, but I've definitely had flutters.

longandwindingroad - Glad everything is okay with the baby and you got some reassurance.  ^hugme^

Sally - I am quite achy at times too! Google said it is ligament pain for me too so ignore your consultant if she does!  ;D

Sally- The aspirin thing is a bit odd, was reluctant to take it at first but am doing so on the premise that, it's only 75mg a day. You ok with it?

I suppose there has to be a cut off for being defined  as a statistical median average, 'over the hill' , expectant mum. The obstetric world has decided that, that point is at 39 years and 364 days. We are just unlucky to have fallen over that precipice all of a sudden.   We happen to have come across some medical professionals who take medians very literally and impart their perception of that information in an insensitive manner . As Sm89,  points out, her pregnancy aches and pains are similar to yours.  It goes to show that the median covers a wide spectrum.. .....Young/old-old/old  ::)

Sm89- What a super bargain! It sounds a lovely set too. You are going to have the whole set up for babe, post next weekend after thevbaby show. All those discounts and bargains are going to be soooo tempting   ;D

A scan around this time will be lovely for you all and complete your day out, lots of bonding memories. Think of that money you saved on buying the silver cross set ;) A scan is a
fraction of that. I'm such a bad influence! The  4D scan was really sweet but at this stage, just as much was gained from the 2D version. Later on would be good though. Not sure if to go ahead as got my eye on another twin pram! Desicons, desicons! With twins at 4D the views are not as clear, with one baby you will see so much more .

Movement wise there have been very slight flutters,  every couple of days on our boy, his placenta is posteria. The girl's is like your boy's  is at the front. Felt nothing where she is yet.

Dory- how are you, you feeling better physically? Thinking of you  :-*

School holidays here and working. Roll on Easter as two weeks off with the girls :)

Anyone got any holidays booked this year before babe/s arrive?

    Hi everyone,

So we're 15 + 4 with a singleton via our lovely surrogate.  (Our embryo).  Still feeling nervous as previous MMC at 9w2d.  We've already had about 5 scans and have gone ahead by two days making our EDD 8/8/18.  My surrogate is in LA at the moment (and I'm anxious!) and she's flying home this weekend.  We're going with her to a consultant appt next week and have booked another private scan when we'll be 16+2.  I'm still not really telling many people as I'd like to get through the 20 week scan first.  We had the Harmony scan at 11w and thankfully that came back all low risk.  However, I'm still nervous that everything's OK. . . .

    Love to everyone
    Ruby xx

    Hi Ruby,
Congratulations on being an expectant mum and welcome .
That sounds tough, your surrogate being so far away, thank goodness she is home imminently.

    Hi every one....
Has anyone noticed a change in discharge? (Sorry if Tmi!) Mine seems thicker...not every time I go to the loo and not copious amounts as it's only when I wipe and spotted twice over the last 24 hrs.  Thinking ill get it checked out but wanted to see what others might have experienced as I'm slightly concerned.  I'm 16 weeks XX

Hello iam 13 weeks 6 days. Been through multiple years of infertility including ivf, and had a loss before at 7 weeks. This pregnancy is hard as we have been so nervous, however better with every passing week.
Iam 46 so iam told i get a specialist in 3rd trimester. Iam on asprin and stopped most of the ivf medications now. My close friend had a healthy baby at 45 and read about alot of ladies with successful pregnancies in the over 50s thread so try not to think about age. My due date is Aug 20 but told they will induce me one week early as over 40.

Hi Miss Tee, Do you mean white/creamy? If so
Yes I found it thickened around then. Also had this in my last pregnancy, remember it clearly because it was accompanied at various intervals by clear liquid. I did get it checked out then and thats all normal and to do with hormones.  If you are uncomfy and or itchy, get it checked out just in case. Spotting, no. Not had that. I've read that sex can irritate the cervix and sometimes cause that but if it's blood of any kind, get it checked out for reassurance.

Hello Clarabelle, and hooray for 13.6 weeks  :)  It's a bonus getting the extra monitoring and extra care because of numerical age. There are loads of women in their late 40's who have successful pregnancies. It seems the conception part was the hardest ..

    Hi ladies,
I'm 13+6 too! Just had our 12 week scan and all looking ok. Baby measuring ahead so they've moved our due date forward 4 days from our original ivf due date. Our next appointment is with the consultant in a couple of weeks but I'm not really sure what that's for!
Physically I've been lucky and experienced no sickness or nausea etc but emotionally I've been very anxious and convinced things are going to go wrong. I'm trying hard to move past that now but I still don't think I've actually processed that I'm really pregnant and I still can't bring myself to tell anyone even though DP has told his friends. I'm 36 and DP is 46. I have pcos but our main issue is male factor. Somehow we were lucky enough to get our bfp on our 1st ivf/icsi attempt and with the only embryo that made it to blast. We never imagined it could get this far, nevermind on the first attempt!!
Hope everyone is doing well xxx
