Hi mums 2 b, what a gorgeous weekend.

Back to work tomorrow ...boo!

Ruby100- hello there, glad all is well with your surrogate after being poorly and babe is all fine too. You must be nearly 27 weeks now. Woo hoo  ^banana^ Are you waiting for 28 weeks to go buy the pram you liked from your shortlist? What a shame you have to go back so early to work, but on the bright side, Dh gets to bond a lot with babe too.  I'm greedy and DH gets 2 days!

Ruby81- What a relief over your results  ^clapping^ and so pleased to hear you are now at 24 weeks and get to be a housewife. Double bonus!

SM89- Same here, brought way too many baby clothes-been ferociously e-baying and car booting. There are too many irresistible bargains out there. Now all spent out. Good your nursery is finished. Funnily enough, ours is too  ;D  Did you have a nice relaxing time in France?

Sally- What a whirlwind for you with all the trauma and happiness coming together. Only 8 weeks now until you meet your little one  :)

Annilee- Only 3-5 weeks until you meet your girls. Wow!! Even if they come at 32, that is a good strong gestation and you being accepting of the early delivery will help you through it. They have done so well coming this far with TTTS. My girls spent time in NICU and SCBU and it is worrying, but when you see teeny tiny preemies born a lot earlier, you see how strong your little ones are and relatively your babies shouldn't need to stay in too long. Still sending you  ^reiki^ positive thoughts your girls are ok until 34 weeks  ^hugme^

Yes, 36 weeks until I give up work is maybe a little ambitious  ::) I'm realising that now, especially when I have bad days, get loads of strong tightenings  and feel like an old lady who needs a walking frame.

Clarabelle- Hope you get some clarity over finances and a home of your own soon  ^hugme^

Lollipops- 24+3 today - Go you!  :) Movement wise, I have to say that the 28 week thing where movements are meat to be  more regular and apparent has been true for our twinnies. The consistency seemed to build over the last few weeks and at 24 the erratic but strong movements were confusing . You will soon be further along and see for yourself.  That's good that you have a counsellor to support you through all this, take some pressure of the anxiety off of you ^hugme^

Not much to report except we have really enjoyed the sun this weekend, spent it in the garden.

Been worrying though, that I may have overheated the twins a bit when sitting in the sun. Next scan on Wednesday...roll on  ::)

The 2h diabetes test was worse than i thought. Fasted for 10 hrs but drank no water in morning thinking i could drink water while waiting in the waiting room but told i couldn't. Did blood test before drink, and also did it for thyroid and hemaglobin. 50 mins after drink i felt sick, dehydrated and hot like i could pass out. They said i could not leave the sitting area that did not have good ventilation and crowded. They took blood again after the hour passed and i told them i didnt feel good. I needed to wait another hour for the 2 hr test but i decided to go upstairs and get air outside for 15 mins which helped. They did not notice i was gone anyway. Felt a bit better and got the 3rd blood test as well as a urine test. In Canada we can access results online before doctor even calls or sees you so i not only got flagged under the diabetes tolerance test for being high but flagged as high for things like high wbc and cloudy urine, glucose high in urine etc. Now stressing and not sure what all the results mean. Guess i need to wait for doctor to call and need to cut out sweet things. I started crying with all the fasting, waiting etc. Must have gone over 13 hrs without food and almost as much without water. Also get mild pain on right rib if sleeping on that side so not a good nights sleep before the test. X

Dr called to say i have gestational diabetes. Need to get referred to diabetic clinic where i will be given a monitor and see if i can control it with diet. If not its metformin or insulin. Already had low dose metformin prior to ivf.Quite upset as i really do not eat alot of sweet things though had the odd biscuit or vegan cupcake. I do not drink fizzy sugar drinks , and stopped eating chocolate, ice cream ages ago etc. Ive just bought wheat bread instead of white and brown rice. My dad turned diabetic a few years ago and mother is pre diabetic. I used to be pre diabetic prior to ivf but got it under control, doctor said its hereditary and age related. Just hard as ive already cut down on things i love or crave. I just don't want this to affect the baby.X

    Hello everyone!

Clarabelle - oh no I'm sorry you have gestational diabetes - remember though it's been picked up in screening so they'll get it under control so that it won't affect you or the baby.  And it's nothing you did!  It's a genetic thing I understand. . . xx

Dreamer - well remembered - yes 27 +2 today :-)  I'm not sure what I'm waiting for to start buying the larger items.  My husband is a teacher and so he's off for half term and I've got a few days off (we'll be 30 weeks hopefully that week!) and so I might start buying bits that week.  I've been buying odd things - have you all looked in TKMAX - I've found some real bargains in there - I got a real boppi cushion in there for a great price last week!

SM89 - enjoy France and I'm impressed you're so far on with your decorating!

HLE - how are things with you?

Ruby81 I'm sorry they haven't got a diagnosis for you but I"m glad everything is going ok with your pregnancy.

Annillee - not long!!  how exciting!

    Sorry if I've missed people . . .

AFM - I can't believe we so lucky to now be 27+1.  We've book a 'growth scan' for half term week when we'll be 30 weeks.  They check with doppler for the placenta, as well as do 4D and some 3D prints so looking forward to that.  That's the last time we'll likely see our surrogate if all goes to plan as the next thing is the 36 week scan at the hospital to check for presentation and size.  We'll be going to Gloucester (surrogate lives there, we live in Kent) - for that period (for about 2.5 weeks) and then our surrogate will be coming back to Kent with us (motorway at 38.5 weeks) as she'd like to give birth in Kent if we get that far.  Her babies have all been born a bit earlier but her last surrogate baby was born at 40+3 so who knows!

I'm looking at stuff I'll need and building up a good list now of preferred items.  What prams do people like?  I like Silver Cross at the moment.

Love to all - Ruby xx

    Hi Ruby

I'm well thank you. 29 weeks on Saturday. I have another short week this week and next as we are going away with my family for a few days. Antenatel classes started. All still feels surreal. Still got some stuff to buy, but getting there. I'm due to leave work in 8 weeks, so not that long. to go xx

    HI HLE

Wow - 29 weeks!  I'm stopping work on 11th July so not too long either . . . . I know the surreal feeling and good to know it's not just me as I'm not carrying! . .

We've booked a private 4 hours newborn parenting class privately in our own home - as we've got a surrogate and also as we both work full time.

It's all so exciting!  Enjoy your few days off too

Clarabelle - Yes I think we’re settled on names but have changed our minds a couple of times 🙊 So will wait for a definite decision until they are here 😊 Any luck finding more unisex clothes? We’ve been buying a lot of secondhand baby clothes bundles and I must admit they are 80% pink! Sorry to hear about the diabetes, but as others have its better to know and get it closely monitored then it should all go back to normal after baby arrives 👍🏼

Sm89 - How was France? Was this your last break away together before baby comes?

Dreamer - yea I had the same worry too about the babies in the recent good weather we’ve had, but they were all find and dandy at my last scan, so I guess the body is just really good at regulating internal temperature and keeping them safe 😊

Ruby100 - how exciting having your plan all sorted now, and it sounds like you have an experienced surrogate so I’m sure she is being awesome too. We’ve gone for an icandy pram, but then we were limited as had to get a double pram and I didnt want one those wide ones which takes up the whole pavement and struggles to get through door ways 🤣

AFM - my last weekly scan showed the blood flow to the little baby is better now so they have lets go ahead and book my C-section for week 34. I was at Oxford at the time as they specialise in complex multiple pregnancies, so hopefully when I go to my own hospital this week they’ll read all the notes and give me a date. I would really like a date in the diary to get the little ladies out and meet them 😃 xox

Annilee - Hopefully they give you a date  ^pray^ I bet you can't wait to meet them :) France was lovely thanks, really quiet and peaceful. No - we have one more holiday with family we're going to Spain on Sunday and then that is it. I really wanted a holiday just the two of us before baby arrives but didn't work out this year. Glad to hear you've got more of an idea of names, it is so hard with one so I can't imagine with two!!!

ruby100  - The class sounds brilliant - let us know how it goes  :) Decorating didn't go to plan as the nursery furniture we had delivered is all damaged so I've asked for a refund. Waiting to hear back. Painting done though so that's one thing out the way!

hle - Did your midwife give you the info about your anti natal classes? We haven't heard of any or been told about any local to us but I'm going to have a look myself I think. Wow 8 weeks! That is not long left to go at all  :) exciting!

Clarabelle - Sorry to hear about the diabetes  :( at least now they can get it under control. Hope you're okay  ^hugme^

AFM I have glucose test tomorrow. Dreading the fasting part more than anything appetite is through the roof at the moment! Then midwife check up on Wednesday. I started getting what felt like contractions on the ferry home from France last Monday. Gave me quite a fright but spoke to my friend who is a midwife and apparently its normal. Had them twice since then too. I'm assuming they're Braxton Hicks. Has anyone else had them?

sm89 - good luck with your test today. Yes she did give me there at my 16 week appointment. You can book on them from 20 weeks and you can find dates online for classes if you Google antenatel and your local hospital. NCT is your other option which you can Google, but you will have to pay for those. x
