My consultant said i was at higher risk with all that as well I am 40.... She also has a bad bed side manor and did my head in at the time. But she did say about the still birth the overall risk is still very low and as I used Donor eggs that works in our favour  and improves the risk as the egg was not my 40 year old egg it was from a 23 year old! - how can two people say two completely different things? - it doesnt seem consistent around the country.  xx

Sallysmiles i know i don't understand it. She said as iam not genetically linked to the baby it can cause more complications. This even upset me at the time as ive read articles saying we can pass a small amount of dna, and i didnt like the way she said it.I did read after a study that there are more complications with donor eggs than regular ivf, but i would think this is because its usually older women who are using donor and not so much about using a donor. She also went on about my body not working as well at my age.Iam in Canada so who knows where she got her info. I hope this is not the doctor i get during labour or c section. My internal scan is booked for 33 weeks to check placenta. Not sure yet if i will have a planned c section. X

Lots to catch up on here! Just arrived back from my holidays so sorry for late responses to messages.

Clarabelle - That's strange. I'm carrying my partner's eggs and was told there is no risk of any more complications due to it being donor eggs. From what I've read on here most people have been told the same. Glad your blood pressure and baby's heartbeat etc is okay. I've also had one midwife who left me a bit bewildered. Sounds similar to your experience, seemed rushed and impatient. I hope you are okay  ^hugme^

Sally - Sorry you're not feeling great. Keep up with the bio oil. Even if you do get more stretch marks they help with the appearance. I've been religiously applying since 3 months and so far have none but my bumps grown quite a bit over past few weeks so I'm expecting some to crop up soon. It will be 100% worth it once your baby is here. 35 weeks, not long to go for you!  :)

Favouritecolourblue - Glad your twins are doing ok. Must be hard for you teaching, I just have the one in there and I'm getting tired now with work and I sit down all day! Not long to go. Have you got names etc yet?

ruby100 - Sorry to hear you've been stressed with work. Sure that is the last thing you need at the moment. I hope your week off work helped. Did you go for the pram? We've got Silver Cross Surf and I love it! Looks so nice and we got a really good deal on it. 5.5 weeks to go in work that will fly by  :)

Annilee - Congratulations on your baby girls! Glad to hear you are all doing well  :) so exciting

Dreamer - Hope your exhaustion is a bit better. I'm also tired all the time at the moment. Final stretch though  :) Did you decide on an elective C section?

AFM - Sciatica pains have eased quite a bit now so I'm hoping the baby has shifted his position. Getting crazy movements now and can see my stomach moving which is strange. I've got 7 weeks left in work now which I'm excited about as feeling quite tired but other than that all is okay. Before I went on holiday I had to have a growth scan as my bump was measuring small but the midwife thinks it was just the baby's position as the baby's measurements are all in the normal range. 31 weeks yesterday so it's now all systems go getting the nursery ready and all of the essential bits, want it all sorted asap really so I can relax and enjoy the last few weeks.

    Hope everyone else is well.

Thanks sm89, I just found that doctor impatient and terrible. I read reviews online after and they were very negative towards her. She made alot of patients cry. We have been very open with doctors about using a donor egg and it was always a positive reaction until that doctor. So happy your sciatica pain is better, i used to get back pain from work but since sick leave ive been fine.

Sally iam using bio oil and so far no stretch marks, but iam only 29 weeks. Been wondering myself how bad c section scars are, might need one.

Annilee, how are the babies? Did they require any help breathing in the beginning? I hope they are doing well and getting fatter.

ruby100 glad you had time off. Iam glad iam on sick leave though still waiting on sick benefits arriving which makes me stressed as should have arrived.

    Favouitecolourblue glad scan went well.

Dreamer, i was aleays told i would be induced at 39 weeks but i may need a c section. I don't even know how they induce.

Well update at diabetic clinic though quite a few high readings they are fine on me pricking finger and remaining on diet control. Though go back in 2 weeks so can never be sure i wont need insulin. Dietican, nurse and doctor were all nice. X

Hi All, as to be expected Iíve been super at the hospital everyday with the babies but came on to catch up on everyones elses journey ☺️

Sm89 - I agree with the bio oil comment. I put it on religiously every morning since about 4 months pregnant and I donít have a single stretch mark. Iíve bought some more for my c-section scar when its healed over a bit more. It works miracles!! So exciting you can see your stomach moving now! We only got to see it once while I was in hospital for a few days before the babies arrived, but it was pretty magical!

Favcolourblue - how much longer have you got left at work? You must be exhausted! I didnít make it to my planned final day at work 🙈

Clarabelle - the c-section scar is really small considering a baby comes out of it 🤣 Mine looks really good and its only 2.5 weeks old. Hows the diabetes management going? Getting any more steady on the readings?

AFM - my babies are doing soooo well!! Yes they needed breathing support (along with a million other tubes and machines) but the only support they have now is temperature control in the form of a incubator and a feeding tube each. So hardly any machines and tubes now, they are an amazing pair! Apparently when they are 34 weeks (which is only one more week) they might be able to start feeding as the suckling skill should start developing at that stage. Iíve noticed signs of it in both of them already so Iím hopeful! They need to keep gaining weight and be able to feed then we can take them home!!!! 😁😁😁😁😁

Annilee, iam so pleased your little twins are now breathing on their own and doing so well. Iam 29+4 so its reassurring babies can do so well that early. Lovely picture, tiny but so beautiful.

Ive got my diabetes under control better. Not every meal is good but they were ok with it at last appointment, so far no insulin needed but hard to know if that changes as i progress in weeks. X

Annie- how adorable are your baby girls. Thanks for sharing one of their first pictures with us.  So pleased to hear how well you are all doing. Once they start feeding it wont be long till you have them home with you.

Clara- Good that you have some control of your diabetes right now. C- section scars are tiny now. My old one you wouldn't know is there as it's faded and well hidden now!

Lollipops- how is your anxiety, is it improving as you get nearer the home straight. Hope so  :-*

Sally- yay ! You must be finished work now and so close to
Due date. Hope your other half has stepped up to help now and not working and being able to take it easy both mentally and physically has helped. . I do think some days are up and down emotionally in pregnancy, especially in the third tri. Totally get that in one way you don't feel ready. Feel the same,  even though the kit is all organised. Moan away here, that's what our group is for.

Fave coulour blue- you still at work? How are you and your babies now. Your babes must be around 5Lb now. I think you are a week ahead of me. The twin buggies all seem beasts, a good choice out there though. Wasn't keen on the double Decker style ones as who would go at the bottom, like the booby position!

Ruby100- Did you go for the silver cross in the end. The pram is sooooo the biggest desicon. Just three more weeks until you finish work and get to be with your surrogate and baby. So exciting.

Sm89- you are  working till the very last minute too so great you will have more time with  babe after . Hope the sciatica hasn't got worse?

Not been on for a while, just loads of aches, pains, spd, painful
Braxton hicks and trying to cope physically with work, the kiddies etc.. Lost the mental focus too . Just when it was all going so well  ::) Our twinnies are lying transverse still and if they haven't moved by next week then they the hospital will admit me until an elective c- section. This is just  in case they come early and the risks with the cord that that could bring.
Feel humongous and restricted like an old granny, walking and standing long is difficult as is getting dressed. Finished work and signed off sick now with the complications.  Still can't get our heads around that we are having twins... And imminently.
Obsessed with slush puppies right now, especially the cherry one. Been hunting for a second hand industrial slush maker second hand... If anyone knows of one?

Thanks Dreamer, had appointment again at diabetic clinic and though a few high readings at evening meals they were still happy to keep me diet controlled and testing blood. They call me borderline so iam feeling much better as no insulin needed yet. Now 31 weeks 2 days. On July 3 i have both the internal scan to check placenta location with appointment with specialist and then diabetic clinic again. Not looking forward to the specialist as she has a terrible manner and had me in tears after telling me about risks. Nurse said she has no filter and doesnt know how to talk to patients. Anyone else had an internal scan?
Iam doing well apart from ribs aching if slept on one side too long, and more bathroom trips. Not decided on a baby bed yet but thinking of either babybjorn bassinet or halo bassinest. I know i must get different options in Canada. Finally my sick leave pay came so very relieved. Also have sister and her new partner coming over from England next week to visit. Shame its not after baby is born but she didnt know. She will be bringing my order of mothercare clothes i sent to her home. They had much better unisex clothes.
Dreamer you are doing great carrying twins, are you getting a c section booked? I still dont know if i will be induced at 39 weeks or get a c section.
Hope everyone else is well. Been a little quiet on this board. X
