Dreamer so glad the babies are doing well. Must be harder to breast feed twins if you wanted. Yes my doctors office has a lactation consultant and told nurses help at hospital.

Woke up with light pink discharge. Baby moving so not too worried. Could this mean labour is close? I will be 37 weeks tomorrow, and have my hospital appointment tomorrow too. Hospital bag mostly packed but forgot to buy pads. Did get the nursing bras though. X

Clara-- it could be a show starting, never had one so not sure only from what the Dr said to me. Could mean labour is close .

Congratulations Ruby!! Fantastic news your little girl has arrived safely! And how amazing she was born with the membranes intact! Hope youíre fighting off the virus now so you can fully enjoy baby.

Clarabelle - glad the strep b and nonstress test went well for you. Itís good that you get all the tests to keep an eye on things and give some reassurance. Like you, I was told Iíd need inducing at 39 weeks and then higher chance of c-section so they offered me the choice. They didnít want to take away my chance of trying for a natural birth if I really wanted it but I think they were keener on c-section to control any bleeding better and I was happier for things to be more planned. Of course baby could still try to make an appearance early and then the plans go out the window!! Theyíd try to do an emergency c-section if I went into labour but that would all depend on how quickly things happened and if they had a theatre/team available!! Iím really hoping I donít go into labour!! Has anything happened since the pink discharge? Do you think it could have been a show?

Dreamer - lovely that your mum is there to help with a night feed during the week, hopefully that can give you a little bit of a break and chance for some sleep!

We were in for a nonstress test a few nights ago as babyís movements were reduced but all was ok. I read that the steroids can cause reduced movements but nobody at the hospital mentioned that so who knows. We had an extra scan to check fluid and blood flow through the cord and that was fine too. Weíre back in tomorrow for them to check that again. I thought tomorrowís scan was for growth but apparently they will only check that fortnightly as anything less wouldnít give a true representation. 2 weeks seems a long while to wait after growth appeared slowed last week and itís worrying me a bit. If they donít check his growth how do they know heís even still growing? I guess theyíre relying on the blood flow to tell them that he should still be getting everything he needs but then why would growth be slowing? Looks like Iíll be pushing for some answers tomorrow!!

Hi ruby81,I also had a non stress test and scan today at 37 weeks. They also did not measure the baby this time. They said everything looks fine and baby is estimated at 6 pounds 14 ounces. Baby was moving quite a bit and she said baby had lots of hair on its head. Met with specialist after, again a different dr and she just asked me how i felt about getting induced at the 39 weeks. She explained it may even take a few days for inducement to work. They will try to make it around the 12th but no set date yet. Iam hoping i go into labour naturally week 38 as sounds like naturally would be shorter. They did not seem to want the c section as first choice. Yes had a tiny bit of light pink discharge yesterday morning and she just said that was a good sign. We still do not know gender but noticed once the sonographer said he. Not sure if a slip of the tonque or just she called baby he by accident.

Next monday is another non stress test, only this time upstairs in labour and delivery. Also regular maternity appointment tomorrow.

    Xx

Hello ladies I hope you don't mind me joining as a late entry!

My official due date is actually September 5th, but have been diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and will now be induced at 37 weeks on 15th August. I've had slowly rising protein in my urine for a few weeks now and my bp has also been very slowly creeping up. I came in to see the doctor yesterday and she drew a line and said I had to be admitted and wasn't allowed to go home again! Poor DH had was given a long list of stuff to get for me.... Anyway, now in hospital-prison for next 2 weeks.

I am going to read up on everyone's posts to get to know you all!

Welcome Claudia, most ladies have had their babies already but me and ruby81 are still waiting. Iam 37+3 today. Iam to be induced week 39 as 47 and ivf pregnancy. I have gestational diabetes but released from clinic as managable with just low dose metformin and diet. Sorry you developed pre eclampsia. Did you have baby asprin? So far my blood pressure has been fine. My next appointments are monday and Tuesday at 38 weeks. Iam offered a sweep but anyone had one? X

Hi Again Claudia,  Iím also still waiting for my baby to arrive. Sorry youíve been diagnosed with pre eclampsia but glad youíre in hospital where they can look after you. How exciting that your baby will be here soon though :-)

Clarabelle - Iíve had two failed sweeps Sunday and last night. On both occasions my cervix is too far back and still closed so wasnít possible unfortunately. Got to just wait it out and keep bouncing on my birthing ball and keep active. Hope that gets things moving. How are you feeling?

Nextcmidwife app is Wedensday where I will be booked in to be induced if I havenít given birth by then. Fingers crossed. Hope everyone else is well x

    Hi Clarabelle and Sm89!

thanks for the kind words. Yes I've been taking baby asprin since week 12 but it doesn't seemed to have done much. I have normal BMI and usually low blood pressure so this is just bad luck i guess. Clarabelle, this is also a DE pregnancy and the doctor did tell me that recent research shows DE pregnancies more likely to be pre-eclamptic, I don't know why but I have also read that online in a few places so I guess that's true. It is kind of exciting that baby will be here soon, I'm torn between wanting it and wanting to keep him/her in for as long as possible.... But it's out of my hands really as another Fetal Medicine scan on Monday will see how well the placenta is fairing. If its really starting to deteriorate, then they may just induce me next week....

well it looks like you will both be induced soon too! Maybe we will all have our babies the same week :)

Clarabelle good luck with the sweep. I hear they work for some but not for others - but def worth a try!

Sm89 sorry forgot you are waiting for baby too. Good luck in having baby naturally soon or with the inducement. How far are you along now?x

Claudia i wonder why DE can have a higher chance of pre eclampsia , is it about blood type? Thankfully week 37 baby is developed. Yes since i will be induced soon we will all have our babies soon. I feel i want to get labour over with as induction still worries me. X

Had a cry yesterday, maybe as we get hormonal or have nesting feelings. The flat dh and i were in line for fell through as they decided last min not to move. I had already gone over to see building and shops around area so had a picture in mind of living there with our new baby.
