Reprofit cycle buddies (orange knicker gang) part 17

Mooface, congrats on being PUPO!!! Great feeling! I'm so amazed at the embie results I'm hearing from recent Reprofit and Gennet cycles. I'm delighted for you girls. When I did my fresh DE cycle, we only got 6 eggs to start with, and it seemed 6 or 7 to start with and none to freeze was pretty status quo. I'm thrilled for you you have frozen ones too.

Hope4life and Alex, thank you so much for all that advice! It means everything. I'm going to think on it all and share it with DH.

Hope, I think that is amazing your Mom can come with you. Financially, there are so many sacrifices that are made with this infertility hand being dealt, and I can only imagine how much this will mean to you. xo

Mo, I'm sorry for your bad experience. That is really upsetting after everything that goes into getting there and being at this part of your journey. You are not just another number or ultrasound. Personally, I would not be willing to go through that again, and from what I know of Reprofit, that treatment is atypical. I would definitely say something to your coordinator. I'm sure they will make sure you don't see her again. Maybe it was a personally bad day for her, I don't know, but either way, you deserve a better experience.

Sunny, glad to see you here - you followed the same path as me :) Admittedly I don't really know much about cycle phases and how medications impact them - after almost a decade in this business and feeling like I know a lot about certain things, it's a little embarrasing the other things I don't know. My advice to you would be, be very explicit with your questions and insist on getting the answers, or having the coordinator consult the doctor and get back to you. Just as with Gennet, I'm sure some coordinators are a better fit/more responsive than others. I was used to long emails and responses previously, but I get very brief responses from my coordinator here and usually some questions are not answered at all. Just as with any medical care, especially private, continue to stay on top of your questions and how they inform your next steps.

AFM, yesterday I saw the doctor due to the abdominal discomfort I've been feeling since 3dpt. I was starting to worry as it was not lessening, my mind getting scared, especially knowing it was highly unlikely I was pregnant and I took very little medication for the FET. The doctor suspected constipation (phew!) and I got a "free" pelvic ultrasound out of it to rule out anything. Before the ultrasound I went for the beta, so that was 11dp5dt, and as suspected the result was 0. Of course it hits hard, this has been 3 trips overseas since November and the last two (with donor embryo) nothing happened at all. Anyway at the ultrasound the woman mentioned, "your one bowel is very full" so sorry for TMI but it does look like I'm just constipated after this big mess and can start trying to flush out my system.

I confirmed to DH the beta result this morning and I had my first cry when he said, "This is heartbreaking". I hadn't even told him I was testing, and the past few weeks have been so busy/stressful he actually didn't ask this time around. I told him about the two embryos at Gennet (before we were told there was only one) and that I can go into another cycle before work when I get my period. I stopped my meds two days ago so hopefully it comes soon. In the mean time, I sip my constipation meds and look ahead to a week of holiday next week. It will look different than hoped for but I think I deserve and need a few massive drinks. LOL!

I emailed my coordinator and asked about my appointment with Dr Frank (as her email says it will be your first scan with Dr Frank who will tell you how to continue your stimulation) to find out why it didn't happen that way.

She said: "Sometimes when the agenda for ultrasound scans are overbooked, the doctor can switch to avoid to let our patients wait too long. But it does not mean that something wrong happened, all our doctors have a lot of experiences and they are specialists in IVF.
I can assure you have been really in good hands during the scan with Dr. Petra Knťslova. Please follow all her instructions and continue with the stimulation as she told you."

I responded saying Oh ok, she never introduced herself so we felt unsure about having the ultrasound tech tell me how to continue the stimulation meds. I should've have reminded her about a concern a few weeks ago, that I wasn't prescribed enough meds (no menopur, like other places recommended) so Dr Frank should have been there to follow up on that.

Just remembering how Kneslova called my name in the waiting room and when we stood up she walked away so fast I had to look around to find where she went so we could follow her into the office. So there was no pleasant introduction, no nothing, we went into the office and she asked me for my protocol sheet.

Anyway, we decided not to rock the boat just yet, my boyfriend is worried about tampering. So we'll give it another chance, hopefully Kneslova was just filling in for the scan (I did ask if she was the person doing my treatment since I had no idea she was a doctor but she said no I'm just doing the US) so if not, I'll talk with my coordinator when I get there and make sure I get someone else.

I was even surprised Kamila, my coordinator didn't come out and say hi. After all this emailing and planning wouldn't you expect them to come out and introduce themselves in person? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Alex1979, funny you should say that! That's why I was trying not to be extra sensitive because I have friends European friends too and they're very blunt and not exactly the sweetest things, lol, but I understand it. So I told myself not to take things personally here, but this Dr was on such another level that I was like literally taken aback.

They really asked you that?! LOL Reminds me of a dentist in China who asked me "Do you wash your teeth by yourself?".....umm, yes? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I didnít my coordinator this week when I went for my donor egg transfer. She met my husband when he went for his ďcontributionĒ but then I saw the doctor. I hope you get to see Dr Kamil. He was lovely to me on Monday. Really let me ask everything I wanted to do.

Mooface    That's nice that you're going to SA, is your family going with? Congrats on 3 to freeze, that's amazing!

Mo1079   I don't really know my way around, I've just gotten good at figuring out Google Maps. That's what I used for you, lol. I have stayed in Brno 3 times though, so I know a little about it. So sorry about your experience. I haven't been there yet so I have nothing to compare your experience to. As far as meds, same, haven't been. I would think she was asking if you had it so that if you didn't she would send a prescription to their pharmacy downstairs and you would go purchase it. I would be surprised that my coordinator didn't even come out to meet me too if I was you. I guess that's part of going to such a big/busy clinic. The upside is that you chose the clinic because they know what they are doing and that's the important part.

Kayte    When I did my fresh DE/DS cycle at Zlin we had 12 eggs retrieved and only 2 blasts by day 5!!! From double donor. I was beyond shocked and everyone said oh well that's what they guarantee, but then I see all kinds of ladies in the Reprofit group end up with more than that using their DH sperm. I'm glad you found out what your discomfort was. So sorry this was a BFN ^hugme^ I was really hoping this was the cycle for you. I hope you and DH can come up with a good plan that you're happy with moving forward as far as next steps to take.

Mo just a heads up... I wouldn't expect to get the doctor you are assigned. I didn't see my "assigned" doctor once while I was there. But all the doctors are good. It just depends who is working that day. I think you said you are from the US and I am from the US too.  :) My "assigned" doctor was Hannah Popisilova, who I didn't even meet.  I had Dr Pavel for transfer and he was amazing! I don't even remember who I had for egg collection because they had me in and out so fast.  ;D Also, I'm not sure if the coordinators actually "work" in the clinic?? Maybe somebody else knows. Hope everything goes well for you in the future!!  ^hugme^

Hope4life, I got excited for a minute thinking hmmm free shot lol but then I told my bf, I'm sure I'll end up paying for it somehow, so we just took the shot at home.

I saw the auto part shop and thought whoa! She's good! LOL

Mooface, that's great that you got Dr Frank, he was really nice during the Skype consultation

Janabanana13, ooohhh that's interesting. You know, I was kinda prepared for that and not really bothered by having different doctors but it's just this Dr Kneslova lady that I really can't deal with. Everyone's positive reviews and raving about the place, I gotta find the right Dr in there .

We finally had a chance to check out the city center last night. There was a beer festival, so that was fun. We'll probably go away for the weekend after my 10 cycle day ultrasound on Friday. Maybe Prague or Bratislava. I'm nervous about carrying a heavy backpack though

Iím really angry. I was told I had an expanded blast transferred and hence decided to only have one. Now I find out it was one of the normal blasts and the expanded ones were frozen. I donít understand and Iím cross as I would have had two back in this situation.
