Good morning everyone

mrscoyle- Sounds like you has an amazing baby shower, not long to go now until your little princess is here.

Janeliot- Hope you have managed to get everything sorted Iíve also been doing about a million loads of washing trying to get stuff sorted.

Aley & Bossy - Hope you both keeping ok?

Honeybee17- Hope you are enjoying time off now that you have finished up work? I finished up last Friday & I think it was good timing as I am suffering terribly with swelling in my feet and finding it increasingly difficult to walk. I am 33 weeks now will be 34 on Sunday. Which site did you get your nursing tops from? How did your appointment with the consultant go? Have they given you a date for your C section?

I had a repeat scan on Tuesday and now they said my amniotic fluid is measuring in the normal range, the low end of normal but at least itís normal. I have to have another scan next Tuesday so they can check if baby is actually growing as apparently this can only be done every 2 weeks. I also had an appointment with the consultant on Thursday and he changed my BP tablets as there is a shortage of the one I was on but I really donít think this new one is agreeing with me as have had a splitting headache and pressure in my head ever since taking it so will mention it to the consultant when I see him this afternoon. Also the pram we ordered at the baby show which was meant to be delivered next week is now not going to be ready until July /Aug as I think there is a problem with production so they have given us a refund and we are without a pram 🙄
Off to a breastfeeding workshop this morning, hope everyone has a lovely day xx

Hello everyone else! Anyone due an induction or c section soon?

I just came in quickly to say my little one arrived on Friday. I went into spontaneous labour on my due date and delivered at 40+1 after a long, harrowing labour but thatís all in the past. Heís 7 pounds 13 and 52 cm long and absolutely cutie! Me and baby are well and at home currently trying to figure out breastfeeding.

    Hello everyone,

I came to check on here thinking there must be some news of a lovely baby already.  And there is!  Congratulations Aley.  So happy for you.  Have you got a name for him yet?  I'm not sure we'll have a name for our boy until the limit.  Just can't think or settle on anything.  Breastfeeding is really difficult.  You always think something so natural should come to you naturally but it can be a real struggle.  I hope you get enough help.  I ended up having a breastfeeding specialist come and help with my first born, she was brilliant.  Took a long time but we got there in the end.  Whatever you decide, he'll be a happy baby.  All the snuggles must be so lovely!

Mrs C - Loads of good luck to you for tomorrow.  I bet you can't wait.  It's finally here!  Yay! Cabn't wait to read about your happy news too.  Al lthe very best.

Toffee Apple - I my gosh.  That's so annoying about your buggy.  That's really bad.  Have you managed to find a replacement.  You really don't need that sort of thing now.  I hope the problem is being resolved.  I'm glad that your scan went well and that yyour amniotic fluid levels look good.  I hope that the BP pills are being kinder to you.  Has your body become more accustomed to them now?  Hope you feel more comfortable.

HOneybee - I hope your last few days at work were nice and easy and that you are njoying some rest time now.  I know what you meaan about those sleepless nights.  Natures way of getting us ready for what's to come but still.  I'm up and down and so restless at the moment.  I'm really struggling with nights.  I'm actually quite releaved once mornign is here.  Sometimes, I get a lie in and then that's the only hour I get a really good power nap.  Obly works on weekends when my husband is around.  Whben's your csection booked for?  I hope all is good with you anyway.

AFM - I was booked for an induction last Friday but after speaking to a couple of midwivves and a doctor it's now been postponed to my actual due date which is this Friday.  I'm hopeingn I'll go into sponanious labour before that.  I really thought that this baby would make an early appearance.  I've been feeling ready since 38 weeks to have him but I think he's decided to stay in.  The consultant, one i saw for my fist son, wanted to induce me as the baby is measuring on the slightly big side on a scan.  But he's not huge, it's not on the worrying side of big.  With my first son I was measuring large, baby was measuring sort of largish but not very but my fluid was on the bigh side.  So I was induced for him but I feel that it's not completely necessary this time and the midwife, doctor and consultant wouldn't have gone along with this decision if there was a risk.  Anyway, I am eating 5 dates a day, walking loads, bouncing on a birthing ball, watching only happy funny things and I ate a cuirry last night.  I don't believe in the curry thing but ti was nice.  Got pineapple too but you have to eat a load of those for anything to happen, I like pineapple.  So, we'll see.

All the best to everyone.  Get those naps in wherever you can.  They're important.  Looking forward to reading or more happy arrivals. xx

For me, I am going to do my best anyway.
Did a class last week and found it really helpful.

    Hello ladies

Aley -Congratulations on the arrival of your little one.

mrscoyle-Hope everything went ok and your little princess arrived safely?

Well I have had quite a day. Had a scan on Tuesday and had an appointment with the obstetrician at 2pm. Next thing I know they taking bloods, urine my BP is through the roof and he says I have pre eclampsia! Iím then whisked off to the Fetal Assessment Unit for a few hours and then get told they keeping me in. I was given a steroid injection as an only 34 + 4 today ďin caseĒ. As afternoon progresses to evening Iím booked into the delivery suite and hooked up to a gazillion machines. They had a job stabilising me and my Blood pressure but are trying to hold out until 3am when su am due my second steroid injection and then they are saying I am going to most probably have a c section! Baby will need to go to special care until about 37 weeks. I am so scared and worried 😔😔😔.

Hope everyone else is ok xx

    Hi everyone,

So sorry for not being in touch. Itís been like a merry-go-round since finishing work but so pleased to hear your baby has arrived safely Aley and MrsC thinking of you and hoping all went well on Monday.

Toffeeapple - thinking of you. Youíre in the best possible place and you will be a top priority in whichever maternity unit you are in. Not sure how helpful this is but my friend had pre-eclampsia and delivered a month early. She and her little boy were absolutely fine. Harry is now 9 and perfect in every way :) I too would be worried which I think is totally natural but try to take some deep breaths and have faith in the team looking after you. I also know a couple of paediatric nurses who provide specialist care for premature babies and they are fabulous. Thinking of you and sending big hugs. Xxxx

Thanks ladies, so my perfect little boy arrived yesterday at 05:41. They said I have placenta accreta . Not out the woods yet though because part of the placenta was embedded in the womb they had to dig it out and it was bleeding very badly so I needed 4 lots of blood transfusion. They have had to put a balloon filled with water in my womb to create pressure to try and stop the bleeding. They will gradually deflate this in morning and see how I go but if it continues to bleed a lot I will have to have a hysterectomy. So hard to be away from my baby as I am hooked up to so much equipment and he is in special care they brought him in for 30 mins last night and it broke my heart to give him back. The good news is he is doing really well and they said he may be able to be transferred from an incubator into a normal cot today as he is breathing unassisted. xx
