Hi All,

Thank you Janeliot. Yes I went to GP (not my usual) and she was pregnant so lots of empathy. She found the HB on Doppler but referred me to hosp and they did the same thing and advised theyíre sure it is probably the same issue. No cervical examination which I would have preferred for reassurance but itís stopped now and feeling ok. Tummy just feeling a bit sore but Iím sure itís just the brush and everything moving around as baby now moved up out of pelvis.

I am so sorry to hear about your panic last night though and I totally understand your concern. Can you just walk in to A&E? Iím thinking of you this morning. Let us know how you are xx

Honeybee - So pleased to hear that baby is doing all well. I would imagine they are concerned about aggravating things further doing a cervical examination. as long as that little heart is still going all sounds good. I hope the spotting stops soon. x

Janeliot - How are you doing today ? x

Thank you for your kind words.

Glad that things are good with you Honeybee. That sounds really good and must be a relief. Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend.

I went to my go anyway. Was going to go to work but told the lady looking after my son and she thought it best to get it checked. GP was a bit shocked with midwives and the fact that you canít self refer to early pregnancy unit. Even she couldnít refer me but she left a message and told me to go along anyway so here I am sitting here feeling increasingly worried. A bit shocked at the service to be honest. Im still leaking so itís a bit scary. Not feeling hugely positive at the mo.

Janeliot - So pleased you are there and hoping all is ok. This is all new to me but I am sure there could be many reasons for what you're experiencing. You're in the right place now and I think once you're in the EPAU they will take good care of you. They're specialists and I'm sure you're in good hands.

For what it's worth it's the same in Reading area I believe. For EPAU you need a referral (albeit it can be done by GP) but from 16w you can self refer to the antenatal self assessment unit and just walk in whenever you have a concern.

Big big hugs. Thinking of you xxx

    Thanks Honeybee and MrsCoyle

They scanned me and baby is fine.  All very good.  And the sonographer said there's enough fluid around the baby.  But still don't know why that happened.  It was a lot.  The thing now is....if it's not one thing it's another.  I'm getting really bad cramping.  I had to walk really slowly to my door it hurt so much.  So now I don't know what to do.  Do I bother them again or do I see what happens?  There was a large cyst on the left, 4cm, and it was painful when the sonographer went over it.  But the cramping is all over my lower abdomin.  I'm just sitting down now, someone is looking after my son for a little longer, but I still feel really sore.

Janeliot - I am so pleased to hear that baby is doing well and the fluid around baby is all good, sorry to hear you are now cramping, How many weeks are you again? sorry forgot, your cramming may be stretching and also the cyst causing more pain possibly? You could go back they may check you again, but they may also say come back if you have had any bleeding.
Im so glad baby is ok though thats the important thing. x x

    Hi Janeliot,

Really pleased to hear you saw that the baby is ok. If it helps I'm 15+4 and had a lot more cramping this week and hunger increased again too. It's light cramping but Tues-Thurs it was almost around the clock. I put it down to there being a bit of a growth spurt which I don't think would be unusual at this stage. Do you have a telephone number for the EPAU? I would call them and just give them an update and see what they advise. It may be totally normal but that's what they're there for so don't be afraid to call. They may be able to give you a possible reason over the phone which would put your mind at rest or care advice. Sending big hugs xxx

Glad to hear the scan went well, janeliot.
As for the cramping try and donít do any effort and make sure youíre well hydrated. It could be the cyst, could be round ligament pain, could be a lot of things. Give the hospital a call, they should be able to advise you further. Donít worry about what theyíll say, thatís why they are there, to offer support.

Sorry, me again.  Seem to be posting all the time.

Thanks sooo much for the reassurances.   You guys are so supportive and have really good heads on your shoulders.  very good advice.  Thank you.

When I sat down and relaxed the cramping subsided a bit and then my son come home and needed a nap so I had a nap too whcih really helped.  I'm still a bit sore and small cramps but nothing like that.  I honestly thought they werre labour pains!  I did call the EPAU and the midwife got back to me and said to take it easy and moniter things and if anythign else happens just to call the help line.  I'm going to try not to think about it.  What a day.  Now my son is ill and my husband has had to take him in to the hospital as he has a health issue and any soaring temperatures need to be checked out imediately.  JHopefully it's nothing but I feel awful not having gone with them.  My husband insisted I stay at home.  What a day, I say again.  I need a nice calm weekend.  We all do.  Poor little boy though, and I was going to take him to see father christmas tomorrow, which may mean more to me than him but still.  The lights and the reindear would entertain him loads.

Thanks again.  I hope you all have a lovely weekend. xxx
