Bossy - So pleased to hear you have stopped bleeding it must be such a relief. An as for the cramps an pains it all sounds normal to me, Iv had the same thing some pulling pains, some stabs of pain etc everything I have read and been told is that itís all very normal in pregnancy and just the body getting ready for baby, so I donít think you have anything to worry about Hun.
I.e thyroid, I mentioned that I went to my Dr to ask to have it checked as before my last cycle I did and although it was classed as normal for fertility they like it be be lower and so been on Thyroxine to get it down, but I want it re checked as it goes up when pregnant, and I want to keep it low.
An some have had the same treatment.
I think itís part of the reasons I have managed to get pregnant and stay pregnant this time.
Iím sure you will get a letter about midwife appointment soon, so annoying not knowing. X

I had my viability scan today and I am absolutely delighted canít stop smiling- Itís twins for us! 2 sacs & 2 little heartbeats were visualised 😊😊😊 Both babies are measuring spot on for 6 weeks.

missl73- I am so sorry to hear you have been so poorly & feeling so rough, great news though that you are feeling a lot better now.

Bossy- Great news your bleeding has stopped. When I had my scan today they picked up what they suspect is a chorionic hematoma which they said could be whatís caused my spotting. Hopefully things will settle down for you now. Regarding the thyroid levels my fertility clinic said to me my level should be 2.5 or less else it can interfere with infertility and cause miscarriage. When they checked mine it was 4 hence why they put me on Levothyroxine.

On the subject of thyroid levels thank-you so much to everyone who posted all the additional information. My GP rang me today while I was at the clinic so I missed her call but she left a message stating she has left a blood test form for me at reception. I did speak to the fertility clinic today when I went in for my scan & explained to them how I am completely stressed out by my GPís blasť attitude to thyroid levels & fertility & how I only have enough tablets until the 20/11.I ended up having the thyroid blood test at the clinic today. My clinic has said they will write a letter to my GP stipulating the importance of monitoring my thyroid levels & the nursing manager said if it comes to it she will personally ring the GP herself & have a word. I feel so much better now that the Thyroud situation isnít being swept under the carpet.

I hope everyone else is keeping well?

    xx

Toffee-Apple - Wow! Thatís amazing news! Iím so so happy for you darling! Thatís brilliant!
Iím glad you asked about the thyroid thing as well, as I am nervous my Dr wonít do anything if itís classed as ďnormalĒ, so if I have to I will do the same thing and phone plum clinic, although Iv been discharged they said I could phone whenever I liked with any questions etc so thatís good. Wohoo Congratulations again! So happy for you and ya little twins! Xx

Toffee - congrats! That must have been one amazing moment!!

Bossy - very happy to hear of the bleeding stopping. It is a real roller coaster, and the uncomfortable or strange sensations continued for me. I think a lot of the time it's your uterus and ligaments stretching, but I found it hard to differentiate between the discomfort sensations, so I understand... but I think your baby is just settling in nicely... and keeping you on your toes xo

Well ladies, I'm officially 14 weeks, and I'm struggling to be able to eat anything. I don't feel like nauseous and shaky all day long anymore, but just unwell and like I can only eat very few bland foods and in small amounts, or else I can't digest them and will be violently ill. This is similar to my other successful pregnancy 6 years ago. It's frustrating when I try to explain to doctors or friends who've had kids and had morning sickness, because they just tell me to take morning sickness drugs (I think they have zero effect) and I think the only reason I've stopped vomitting is because I take Zantac (heartburn and digestion drug). I read about people who feel sick but still eat meals and a variety of food and I just can't relate.

WARNING: Do not read this if you're feeling queasy... back away now. Last night my poor DH drove 40 minutes each way to get to a little tourist town nearby where they have a bakery that makes amazing cheeseballs without any veggies, herbs, etc. in them. It was the only thing I could think of eating yesterday (have been doing okay nibbling on some cheese and a bread product or two during the day) so this poor guy I've barely been able to speak to for 2 months now went to get it for me. I haven't eaten crackers in a long time and the only ones we had were lightly seasoned. Well, I'm not sure if I ate too much cheeseball or it was the seasoned crackers (I think the latter) but a few hours after eating, I started feeling unwell. I took an anti-nauseant and my 2 morning sickness pills, and for several more hours - no change. I went to bed, and suffered for several more hours. My heartburn started, I had such pain and was struggling to breathe, and then I started throwing up in bed!! I was so ashamed, there was literally nothing I could do to stop it. I was violently ill for the next several hours (while poor DH cleaned up) and then felt so shaky and in pain I couldn't sleep. Thank goodness I'm off work... today my stomach is so sore I can barely walk or stop shaking.

So, obviously this isn't morning sickness... I suffered for many hours before this came to pass. I don't eat after 5pm and barely eat at all. I haven't had much success explaining this to doctors, it's like they've never heard of a body not being able to digest or handle food when pregnant. It's hard to imagine that seasoned crackers or a few extra bites of cheeseball could do this to me. This is why I barely eat anything and live in fear of getting so sick. My first pregnancy it was so much worse when I'd try to eat more or a wider variety of things. I also find the flavour in foods to be disgusting. I tried to eat a blueberry the other day and it tasted like metal, I had to spit it out.

Anyway, I am really suffering and weak - between the 5 weeks on bedrest and developing this eating stuff/heartburn so early. I don't know if anyone can relate or has heard of anything like this before, but since I still haven't shared about this pregnancy with most people and am isolated at home, just felt like I needed to talk to someone!

    Hi everyone,

Wow so much to catch up on. Sorry to be a little quiet. Have had an exhausting few days between one thing and another but now in Portugal... in bed for the night... and yes, weíre even in the same time zone!!!

Toffee apple- amazing news. Congratulations! You must be over the moon! Really delighted for you  :) enjoy this moment!

Missl so glad youíre feeling better today.

Bossy, so pleased the bleeding has stopped

Mrs c and janeliot  - thank you so much for the reassuring words re pregnancy/natural birth and age. I was just a bit surprised at how casual the mw was the other day but I guess thatís their job. Iím just going to continue to take a day at a time and hopefully that will work itís way out over time. Maybe Iíll change my outlook too. Amazing that you have so much history of late babies in your family Janeliot. I was talking to my boss on tues and one of her friends had a first baby through the ARGC at 45. Apparently she affectionately referred to herself as a Ďpregnasaurusí. Love that!

V interested in this thyroid discussion too. Iíve never had any issues with it to my knowledge but it was sth they checked again beforehand my last cycle. Might get my dr to check it again as Iíve also been advised t9 get him to check my vit d levels as not sure whether to continue taking the supplement I have been on over and above pregnacare multivits. Will maybe get him to authorise then send to my consultant as I think sheíd still, be happy to comment.

Sorry for no more personals. I really am frazzled. Didnít sleep much two nights ago when I wasnít well, then this am we had to be up at 0330 and didnít sleep well as knew I had to get up plus the usual bathroom breaks!

Just wanted to say Mrs C was also reassured by your comments about the tummy twinges. I had a weird pulling /tightness/ mild stabbing pain this afternoon which totally freaked me out. I couldnít say it was painful. Just really made me squirm and worry that sth may be wrong. Think Iíve done more today than usual. Hubby has been lugging my carry on bag about but have been trekking up and down hills and lots of stairs in old buildings etc so think maybe it was just beanies way of telling me heíd had enough! Stopped for a hot choc and now back at hotel, showered and in bed!

Oh one more comment on the bloating and changing shape. yes I hear you! Iím normally an 8-10 with a fairly flat tummy but Iím now really bloated and getting quite round. Iím really hoping this is somewhat baby related as if itís just from what Iíve been eating (which is frankly possible given my appetite!!) Iím worried  ;D i have muffin top  :-\.

    Night night everyone xx

    Oh Hopefulkayte,

I 5hink we posted at the same time. You poor thing. My heart really goes out to you. Really sorry to hear that you continue to suffer so much. Can you get some kind of specialist referral from your GP I wonder? Sounds like youíre being looked after so well by your husband and so tough when you donít feel you have many other people,e to share with. I know itís not the same as your close friends and family but just know that weíre hear for you and as boss said before, holding your hand  :) I really hope things start to settle down for you.

Iím afraid Iíve never experienced anything like you are but just wanted to send you a big hug. Hope you manage to rest better this evening xx

Hopefulkayte - Im so sorry to hear you are having such a terrible pregnancy, an still at 14 weeks, My midwife said my nausea should ease up in my 2nd trimester but everyone is different, i'm just so grateful I am not suffering as much as you, I really hope you feel better asap sending hugs  ^hugme^

Honeybee - Yes i know what you mean about her casualness but i'm guessing she meets a lot of ladies of all ages etc and this is her way with them all, yeah you never know you may feel differently in the future, i just want to go to a couple of info evenings and learn more before i make any decisions. Im so glad i managed to reassure you, I was also alarmed by them until i read about them in a pregnancy bible book I have and saw that from the forums its very common and normal, iv also started having like stinking pains in my boobs! apparently this is your boobs getting ready to produce milk, but its very strange. But I agree with you, it does sound like bean has had enough an although it sounds like you are having an amazing time relaxing in demanded lol.

missl73 - I am with you on the sleeping all weekend plans! so so tired! the last few days I have had sore eyes all day! along with the nausea I am feeling pretty rubbish but it will all be worth it. I have no exciting plans, as i feel so yuk at the mo i am avoiding doing stuff! lol, You doing anything?
