BFP - Due Date September/October 2019

Afm- my scan went well. Baby is measuring slightly bigger but Iíve still to go by my ivf date of 2nd September. It took a few attempts to get the baby to wake up and bed tilting and emptying my bladder was required for the nuchal measurements. It was 1.3mm so hopefully the blood test come back fine. When the baby woke up it was grabbing both itís feet like the happy baby yoga pose. I cried lying on the bed in such relief! X

Congratulaions Ivy! Another important milestone reached! For my first preg they took 12w edd as official one. I live abroad where most obs care is dr led. I had anticipated on this a bit, as my mum went over EDD by quite some time for both le and my brother, and chose the more "alternative" dr I could think of. She was willing to take the IVF EDD into consideration at the end, planning my induction at 41/5 IVF date. I went into labour 41/2 IVF date, which was actually 41/6 scan date... I was did have to have baby monitored every 2 days to be sure all was fine and no early signs of placental insufficiency. Other drs had already mentioned they would have induced me almost a week earlier. I really wanted to try to avoid it...
First preg I was exhausted too, going to bed at 8 sometimes. DD only goes to bed at 8 anyway, so need to stay "up" till then, so I can get her to bed (and bath/shower and book). (DH takes her to day care at 9am, so she only gets up at 8-8.30. I however get up at 5.45-6.00 on work days, so get quite a bit less sleep). Qutie a struggle to get DD to go to sleep yesterday: for the first time she managed to climb out of her cot (at 26 months we knew it was overdue). I think sje might not have quite realised what she did, so we might have a slight respite still.
I too wake up too early sometimes, and can not get back to sleep. Or wake up for a pee and can not go to sleep again, knowing I will be knacjered by morning...

Hi, little update from me. So two days ago I started cramping and bleeding. I went straight to a and e. My os was closed and HCG levels good. But obviously worrying. I had a scan today and there was a heartbeat (I burst into uncontrollable tears) the bad news is there is also some blood around the sac and my progesterone levels from my blood test is low as well (17). So today I have been battling trying to get hold of consultant to email my GP so I can be prescribed injections as the crinone isnít working. He still hasnít emailed so I will try again tomorrow. Has been a rollercoaster last couple of days and Iím not sure how to feel now. I am just praying that my babies Heart keeps beating  and the blood doesnít harm it in any way.

Hope you are all doing well.

What a rollercoaster, StayP. Can imagine you are worried, but still amazing to see that heartbeat... Is 17 that low? I am much lower (unless the units are different) Can't remember what treatment you had, but was told that hormone levels are always lower with fret with hrt fret (so where you do not ovulate but lining is regulated with oestregen and then progesterone is added before et).

Afm: I am just going absolutely bonkers with stress. Symptoms vary, which scares me as I feel they were much more consistent in first preg and this feels more like 2nd preg (even though I know symptols comingcand going is normal). Had some more bloods yesterday to try and calm me down, with hcg well within expected range (doubling time over last week was 2.7, which is normal in week 6 - can be up to 3.5 d even). In my 1st preg hcg was lower at this stage, and at 2nd it was much higher, so it of course did nothing much to relieve my worries. My scan is next Tuesday (late afternoon, so DH can be there too). Not sure if I will not be in a lunatic asylum by then though...

Stayp- thatís great thatís there is a heartbeat and yolk sac. Try and hold on to that. That is a good sign at this stage. Is your hospital close enough that you can just go in person if you canít get in touch? Sometimes you just have to be pushy to get what you need. When I had my bleed I just phoned every number and then just asked the receptionist to go and speak to my dr and they seen me straight away. Just keep calling until you get what you need. I know you must be very worried but the heartbeat is there. Let us know how you get on.

Godiva- I think once you have had your scan you will feel better but your hcg is going the right way at least. Try not to compare because every pregnancy is so different and your first one turned out perfectly. Try and rest as much as you can and occupy your mind as much as possible.

Thank you for your reassurance both. They measured my progesterone in ml , they said itís very low , they have upped my crinone to 3 a day whilst I wait for my injections to get to the GP surgery (3-5 days I just hope itís in time) Godiva do you know what level yours is ?  The midwife at the hospital is so concerned about it being 17ml she has scared me. Also in regards to your HCG it sounds to me a good sign if it is higher on your last pregnancy. Good luck for your scan I have my fingers crossed for you.

Ivy it too me 19 phone calls to get the injections ordered. I think my GP is going to block my number. I had to really fight to get them as the ivf clinic wouldnít give them as they are not NHS funded and itís illegal for me to buy them and the GP said itís a private prescription of £350. Anyway after going backwards and forwards the GP agreed to pay and has ordered them. I canít believe the amount I had to go through to get them.

I am still cramping a bit but no more blood to speak of.

Scan again on Tuesday. Hope you are both doing well. X

StayP: not sure if there are different units for prog, but my first was 10, second 14 and 3rd 12. A specialist I asked after 2nd said hormone levels (not sure if she was talking about Estrog or prog) are lower with fet with progynova then natural cycle fet (estrogen supplements to increase lining block growth of follicles -> no ovulation, so no naturally produced E and P until placenta takes over). After 3rd I was worried, so specifically asked a specialist whether level was enough, and they said it was fine.
(My treating clinic doed not really check these bloods. After miscarriage (missed abortion) last time they just more than doubled my utrogestan. Not convinced I had low prog then either though (but had not tested then): I never spotted once, not even after stopping utrogestan and progynova for a week after missed abortion confirmed at 8 weeks+. (Even after two courses of cytotec to get uterus to contract not everything came out, and bleeding kept stopping after day or two)

When googling I came across this link, which reassured me a bit (of course not everything you google is correct). https://parenting.firstcry.com/articles/progesterone-level-in-pregnancy/#What_is_a_Low_Progesterone_Level

StayP - Glad to hear you got the injections after all. Itís annoying when these things arenít readily available. Good that your dr agree to giive you them. I think the first time I went through ivf I got crinone but this time I got given Cyclogest 3 times a day. Hopefully the crinone 3 times will help until you get your injections. I can image youíve been really worried but the progesterone can give you cramps and twinges too. Just try and rest as much as possible until you get the injections. Iím sure everything will be fine and that little bubba is just getting comfy. X

Godiva - You are so knowledgable about all of this! Hope everything goes well at your scan. Fingers crossed x
