Dogus FET quarantine madness
« on: 30/07/20, 12:19 »
Hi all,
Currently sat in a hotel for a 7 day quarantine in Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus. I will then be expected to have another COVID test before I am free to have my FET at Dogus on 05/08/2020. Flight home in the early hours of the morning on 06/08/2020.

Summary of costs so far:
Flights - £340 might need to add on more for a change to return flight
7 day quarantine hotel - meals included £350 - no choice as it's selected by airport authorities [Malpas hotel and casino]includes 2 covid tests
2 more nights stay needed at another hotel after quarantine.
FET is 1200 Euro's + cost of drugs
Covid test at home was £175.

I had postponed my trip planned at Easter due to lock down and felt I had to get on with it now, as I turned 42 in April.  I sincerely hope I am able to recall this tale of sacrifice to a little one as a result. Wish me luck all  :) ^fairydust^

I might see you on the other side sister! 💪🏽 Mees which route are you taking? I flew to Istanbul from Stansted and then to Ercan. I was then put into quarantine.  I donít think the boarder can be crossed by non residents.
    Good luck to you too

    Hi Kharodbal,

I arrived yesterday evening at Larnaca (South), got PCR test (= open for testing till 21:30!) at the border to go from South to the North (recieved a slip with a code for the test-results) and had to go in quarantine in the hotelroom (+roomservice) till result were known (I'm from a B-country)... the result was known after about 8 hours at the site covid-19.gov.ct.tr and was negative, so I can go freely now. Fast testing-system!

But... There might be a 'slight' problem... and you are right:
At the border form South to the North I was told by the employee of the border I could not get back to the South-side after passing his border. Passed anyway; the Clinic is on the North-side. So... I might need to book an other return-flight and go to the airport Ercan (North-side). As if not exciting enough... or expensive....

I see you flight home is on 06/08. When will you take your PCR-test? Do you know how much time may there be between the testing and the flight? I don't know the rules on the North-side...

The planned FET I was about to have in March was cancelled too. So nice to know I have a sister on my side! I'll sent you my contactnr at a PM. Feel free to use it, or not. Maybe just in case.

Hope you have a nice balcony with view!
