Can any of you give me any of your experiences with 2 day transfers. I had IVF in Feb and had a 2 day transfer (early on day 2) and was at the 2cell stage. This cycle resulted in a BFN.

Im due a DE IVF cycle in July and was wondering whether it would be better to insist that I only have the 2 day transfer once it has become a 4 cell embie (maybe later in the day).

What do you think?

Hi

I have had two day transfers and both have been either 3 or 4 cells but then the appointment has been mid afternoon.

Why not see if you can get a 3 day transfer if you are worried, or wait until the afternoon of Day 2.

Hi
I guess a 4  cell stage is considered better as this was told to us by our doctor.
Its definately better to have 4 stage embryo on 2nd day ET.

All the best

Hi

I had 1 x2 cell and 1 x4 cell put back on a day 2 transfer (morning)- the embryologist said whilst they were both grade 1-2  but the x2 cell was the better embryo. One of them worked but I don't know which one.

I think its just the luck of the draw in all honesty and despite the human intervention success or failure is down to nature.

If it makes you feel better though I would ask for an afternoon transfer.

Good luck

Sam
