Hi all!

Rachel, I suggest you just buy a cossie one size up in the normal range as when i was going on hols around 17/18 weeks the maternity costume was too baggy just under the boobs where the bump should be, I did have a bit of bump but certainly not enough to fill the cossie. As they are all made of lycra it will expand with you anyway.

  Where is everybody? It's been very quiet on here recently - maybe everyone's been reading but not posting like me!

How are you all - bumps expanding nicely? I've been a bit concerned recently because I've only put on about half a stone ish and you guys are all saying how much you've put on. I'll ask midwife on Tuesday - still I do seem to have a growing bump and no where else so maybe I'm lucky?

I finished marking my GCSEs on Tuesday (Yay! ;D) Just got to do the checking now and then wave them good bye. What a  relief - it was really hard sitting for so long (and being so bored!)

Went to cinema yesterday by way of celebration - we went to see Batman Begins (good film) It was really noisy with loads of bass and rumbles - Daisy went mad, kicking and moving - must have been a bit much for her!

Anyway folks - take care and keep your feet up! NOw I've finished marking I'm allowing myself to think about baby stuff - we're going travel system shopping soon!

Hello ladies,

Boy this is wierd! I went for my 10+3 scan on Wednesdaay and because I'm having twins was given an EDD of 1/1/06 and swiftly got moved from 1st to 2nd trimester!

I wasnt prepared for this at all and feel a bit of a fraud at the moment so bear with me while I try to catch up with you all!

I still haven't made an annoucement at work so don't feel officially like I'm on 2nd trimester just yet.

Am really looking forward to hearing how you're all getting on, some of you are real pros looking at how far you're at by now!

LOL

Hi Everyone,

Had my midwife appointment yesterday and babies are doing well, heartbeats are really strong and the midwife was very happy with the way everything is going so far. I don't think I will see the midwife much now if at all as after my next scan apparently I will be scanned every two weeks.

I don't know about anyone else but this week I have been really tired not sure if its the weather but I now have a week off so I am looking forward to some relaxing.

We have the nursery furniture arriving next week so we will probably be assembling that, how exciting..

Hope everyone one is ok..

Take care

hiya all

well, i am sorry but this is a short me post - went to hospital on Monday for a Glucose test (YUK it was vile!!!  :p ) have now had results and phew!! i do not have diabetes - have got to remember not to have sugared frosties before doing my urine for testing he he!!!!  At least i can pinpoint what it was now.

Have got another check up at the hospital tomorrow - everyone keeps saying that i am at the hospital more than anyone else - it seems that they have put a yellow sticker on the front of my notes which means they need to look after me a litle bit more than normal - seveal reasons why e.g. age, heart murmur since birth, members of my family with diabetes and first son was born disabled so guess that's me at the hospital every week - at least they are keeping an eye on me.

Am feeling a little bit down - i wish i could feel better as i feel so, so tired all the time.  I work full time (about 43 hours a week) which i know is not a great deal but with a house and disabled son to look after too is taking its toll on me - Doctor has said he will sign me off work but don't really want to give in to it - stupid i know!

Anyway hopefully everything will be ok tomorrow and they may give me a bit of a break between visits - you never know!!

Will post again soon with some personals - look after yourself girls

Thought it was about time I said hi, think I only managed 1 post on the 1st ti thread!

Well off for my anomaly scan next week, had maternal serum back with low risk, so everything should be OK  ^reiki^.

I am just looking fat and not pregnant, like so many of you!  I can feel a bump under my tummy fat layers!  But I dont feel pregnant at all, and am finding it quite hard to get excited about it, I think I am still apprehensive and know that nothing is guaranteed until you get that bub in your arms (have a couple of good friends that have had bad experiences), so guess I am just worrying myself unduly, and should just chill out and enjoy the rest while I can get it.  Hopefully when I can feel movement, I will feel a bit more excited.

We have decided to not get told the sex next week, as we just want a baby, dont care what sex it is!  Newborn clothes dont have to be sex specific anyhow, and as junior will be in our room to start with, dont need to worry too much about painting the nursery the wrong colour, that can wait.  Seen a couple of great cots, they go from bassinet, to a cot, then a junior bed, and then turn into a two seater sofa for child later on, when they need a proper size bed.  Just need to start looking at car seats and stuff next, know what I want, but dont know if the car seat will fit in my car, just need to try I suppose.  There is soo much to do and I feel like I have got ages to do it, but I reckon I will still be running about in a panic on 31st November!

Has anyone else got reallly reallllly itchy boobs?  I looked at mine this morning, and they have gone yellow in patches (gross), but I think that will just be colostrum starting, will ask Obstetrician next week.

Hope everyone is well,  will try and keep track and do personals next time.

Morning!

Welcome to everyone just joining the 2nd tri!

Woke up at 5am for a snack again - can't seem to sleep through the night without eating!  No wonder I've gained so much!!  (24lbs so far - ack!)  Then woke up again at 8, absolutely ravenous, and had to run to the kitchen for breakfast before being sick.  What a wonderful way to start the day!  ;D

Starting to notice that my calves are easily cramped, and my hips get sore from lying on my side at night.  Ah, the joys of pregnancy!

DH and I are going to try to buy our pram on Saturday.  Can't wait to actually be buying something for bubs - it makes it so official!  Also going to start taking a few things out of our home office, to make way for a nursery.  Really excited to get things started.

Happy Canada Day!!

Hi all,

Just wanted to touch base and say good luck to JubJub and all of us who are having anomaly scans in the next few day's/weeks. Mine is next week. I am as nervous again (didn't think this would be possible) as I was before the nuchal. I wonder if the whole 40 weeks will pass like this...lurching from one scan to the next, not really believing all will be well.

I had a good nuchal and am praying that if there was a major abnormality it would have shown then. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I'm 19 weeks and 6 days, and still not feeling bubbles or fluttering, but a slight shifting, difficult to describe really, also, it could be indigestion.

I haven't given a thought to prams, clothes, maternity leave or anything, I feel like the turning point might be when/if all goes well at the anomaly scan.

I find that I am bigger - tum/bump - in the evenings and first thing in the morning, my tummy is flatter again. It's still not obvious I'm pregnant, but I hear at around 23-24 weeks that the babe really gets going.

Ddorf Girl - my calves cramp especially in bed at night. I read somewhere it might be because of calcium difficiency, but there's no real evidence.

Moosedog - so sorry to hear about fatigue, the hot hot weather can't help. I thought the second trimester was meant to be the one where we felt full of energy and like our 'old selves', but I'm still getting very tired in the afternoons.

Anyway, love to all and happy, healthy pregnancies,

Annie

Hi girls

Quick reply to Annie - I'm 19 weeks and 2 days, and still haven't felt much - I think I've felt a few flutters - more like a shifting feeling like you describe!!  I can't wait to feel full on kicks!  Got scan next Friday, excited and nervous!!

Again - same as you - no proper bump yet and not obvious I'm pregnant, but I can feel the hard bump under the roll of fat!!!

Hope everybody is doing OK - time is dragging for me at the moment, but I'm hoping after my 20 week scan it will move a bit quicker!

Hi girls

Poll - congrats on getting through the marking. Must be a nightmare!  Still, you;ve got the whole summer off now haven't you??

Dizzy - must have been a bit of a shock for you to all of a sudden be in the 2nd Tri.  Well done and excellent news on the twins!  It's so exciting and now double for you!

Jo - up until last week I felt fab, full of beans.  This week I have been coming home early to have a sleep and feeling really groggy waking up at 7.30 pm.  Also, struggled to get up in the mornings!  I think it's definitely the weather!

Les- sorry to hear you are feeling down at the moment.  You do seem to have a lot to cope with and it's good that you can get it off your chest on here.  If you need some time off work, then let the Doc sign you off.  It might do you good just to have a fortnight off to relax!

Good luck to all of those going for their anomoly scans over the coming weeks.  You will notice such a difference at this scan from the 12 week one, so much more detail.

As some of you have mentioned your symptons, here is what I am experiencing at the moment:-

- Stretch marks have now appeared on tops of thighs and lower back (above each buttock)!
- Skin tag has developed on left labia, therefore preventing shaving! (tmi)!
- Have lots of aches and pains in pelvic area and hips.
- Finding it difficult to get out of bed without looking like a seal, slithering to the floor first!
- Thread veins appearing on legs
- heartburn at night time
- addicted to icepops (currently down to about 9 a day).

I also definitely look pregnant, have put on about 13lbs so far, and my neighbour very kindly told me that some women she knows were 40 weeks and my size!!  GREAT!

DP home from Dubai tonight and haven't seen him for 2 wks so I hope he doesn't notice all of the above!!

Love to you all

Enjoy the weekend!

Lulu, you sell the second trimester so well - skin tabs, stretch marks, aches, pains and thread veins - I can't wait!

Dizzy - welcome, it must be wierd but once you are into the 12 weeks proper then it will be fine - we share the same due date.

Moose, like you I feel down a lot, I am crying for no reason and I guess the combination of hormones and nervousness about the pregnancy just come together to make me useless!  Like action girl, I think we do lurch from scan to scan hoping everything is ok and not really knowing - but we are all in this together and can give each other support.

OK, enough of the smultz, I have a real chocolate craving - all down to the IUI girls thread who have been having an ongoing discussion about Flakes.  I really must go and buy some choccie or I don't know what I'll do!  ??? ;D

good luck with those of you with scans coming up

Hi all,

Cat & Lou - I'm getting heartburn too. When I drop off to sleep its waking me up, often in the middle of the night. It's so bad sometimes I have to drink lots of water and gargle to get rid of the acid burning the back of my throat before going back to bed.  Sometimes get it mildly late afternoon - but never like nights.

Kim & Annie I'm 19 weeks too and have not felt anything yet. Perhaps we need to wait another week or 2. You nearly always feel it earlier if you've already had a bub.

Lou - you have my sympathies - some of your symptoms sound strangly familiar. I'm also convinced I'm experiencing metamorphosis and turning into my short, tubby voluptous bossomed grandmother!

Began to buy something every month. Bought a moses basket 2 weeks ago with a rocking base. Last month bought the travel system. Bought a Quinny Speedi SX. Nicely engineered, very manouverable and light. Came with car seat, carry cot/pram, pushchair and all the other bits and bobs. My partner is dying to use it - boys and their toys!

Hi to everyone else!

Hi Girls,

Hope were all OK, I didnt sleep very well last night and I woke up with a splitting headache which I've had all day!

I think its because I'm worrying myself silly, I had another tiny streak of brown in my discharge when I wiped last night, this is the 3rd time in just over a week, each time its been less than the time before but it still worries the hell out of me!

I've seen the midwife twice and she's told me not to worry and that she thinks its a cervical errosion, have any of you had this? Apparently I could have this on and off all through my pregnancy, great! I don't think I going to enjoy the pregnancy at all! I've had swabs taken which has ruled out infection, the other thing is that all this started the day after I finished the Cyclogest, is this just coincidence?

Sorry its a me post!
Have a good weekend
Take care

HI Guys,

Lou-some or your symptoms also sound quite familiar, I have been getting really bad indigestion and through the day I eat refreshers which really help and before I go to bed I have some gavascon and that gets me through the night. Maybe you could get something from your GP..

Annie-I felt exactly like you did up until I had my twenty week scan I then started to enjoy the pregnancy and started buying things and getting maternity leave sorted out etc. There is no rush in doing any of this so just do it in your own time but I can assure you that you will feel completely different after your scan. I cannot believe how fast the last 6 weeks have gone and I think it's because I am more relaxed and because you see the midwife every 4 weeks you get to hear bubs which is such a nice feeling..good luck with your scan next week..

Sal-I have also had really itchy boobs I sit at my desk at work having a really good scratch and the men think I am crazy but when you have an itch like that there is nothing like a good scratch.. good luck on your scan next week..

Well I have thrush at the moment I am treating it but I seem to be going to the toilet so much and last night I was up every two hours, I also think one of the babies was laying on my bladder which didn't help. Luckily I wasn't at work today so this afternoon I had a nap which was very nice.. ;D

It's Friday yippee, have a fab weekend everyone and good luck to all those off for scans next week..

Take care

Morning Ladies!!

Crikey! I'm 4 from top to go to 3rd tri! I can't believe it! To all newbies from 1st tri, I found up until 20 weeks to go fairly slow but has flown by since then!

I'm feeling like a complete hefferlump compared to all of you!  :-[ I've managed to gain almost 3 stone so far!!!! & I was already a stone overweight!  :'( I'm going to try extra hard for the last trimester to stop snacking on rubbish etc, & stick to 3 meals a day.

Like you Lulu, my pelvic area & hips ache, expecially in the night, or when I lay flat. I also have skin tags & stretchmarks! Oh the joys!  ;D

Annie & Kacey, I could never work out the fluttering, butterfly feeling I was expecting to have. My movements have always felt like, my stomach contracting is the best way I can think to describe it (I don't mean a labour contraction! ;D)

I had my 1st NCT class yesterday. It wasn't too bad. The teacher is determined to get all 10 couples to be best mates by the time the 4th class is done which is a nice idea but where do you find the time to meet up with new people for nights out, when you don't have the time or energy to see your current friends?!

I've decided to finish work 2 weeks earlier than planned as I have had more than enough! I was in tears coming home on friday as the workload is just to much & I feel like I'm achieving nothing! Everyone in my dept feels the same, but they aren't as lucky as me, they have to stay! ;D I'm taking a weeks hols & then straight into maternity leave so my last day will be 12th Aug! Only 6 weeks to go!

For those worried about buying stuff, I haven't bought a single baby item. As we are still unsure if we will be moving before bubs is born, we won't be buying anything until I start my maternity leave. I'd love to start buying now, but as we aren't decorating a nursery until we move it will only clutter up our storage space & be more to move when we do.

Anyway, you're obviously all having a fab weekend cause it's been so quiet here!
Enjoy the rest of it.

Hope everyone is well!

Hello girls,

Justa quicky today as am in need of a nap already!

Clare, welcome, nice to see a familiar name from 1st Tri as I got evicted when I wasn't expecting it!! ;D Hope you're well.

Amanda - I had a couple of weeks on and off with brown discharge. I had a scan and the midwife said it was just cervical erosion as not coming from inside the womb, which is a much better situation to have.

My clinic nurse told me that if you are well eostrogenised this can cause it so please don't worry. As long as it doesn't turn red and you haven't got unsual pain you should be fine.

If you're really worried I'd insist on a scan just to put your mind at rest. A stress-free mommy is best for bubs after all.

Happy bump-growing to everyone else.

LOL Dizzy xx
