Hi,
I have been diagnosed with edometrial cancer at 33. and need a hysterectomy, cutting a long story short.
Just assesing our options, we have pretty much, but not totally ruled out surrogacy for numerous reasons and would like to adopt in the future, but now Im panicing incase we wont even be considered after having cancer. I am due to have my op next tue, but I have time to change my mind if we wouldnt be considered. Anyone got any insight on this please?

Dear Louise,

I'm really sorry to hear about your illness, it must be a very stressful time for you both. Authorities differ from place to place, but my understanding is that once you are cleared of the cancer, and are no more likely than anyone else to become ill again then there is no reason that you will be turned down for adoption.

I believe the BAAF websit has a phone number you can call for advice, so maybe give that a try for a more definite nswer,

good luck with whatever route you take, and i hope the operation goes well.
