Hi just a quick question...My husband and I have done 4 rounds of ivf and everytime he has been unable to provide sample - have had to do tese.  He has even tried to do before hand to freeze so that nerves are not issue but same thing happens.  We have stayed at hotel to see if this would help instead of having to give at clinic and still no joy

We are trying one more cycle and just wanted to see did anyone have any hints to help him relax...hypnotherapy? therapist? toys? etc... We are desperate to try anything.  Any help greatly appreciated - thanks

Is he able to ejaculate during intercourse? As they may let you do the deed into a special condom with no chemicals- some men do suffer from the nerves and it is v unromantic

Yes he can ejaculate that way no prob - just 'on demand' seems to be the issue

Thank you for that suggestion will look into that as well.  Thanks so much

My boyfriend had the same issue with nerves. He was so worried about letting me down that he could not get an erection. The nurse gave us a special condom to use and said I could go in the room with him. That was still not helping. We considered booking a hotel but didn't have much time left in the egg retrieval window that day. He went for a walk and a coffee and when he came back the Doctor prescribed a low dose Viagra. He went back into the room himself and managed to do OK. All in all, I think it took close to 3 hours. Luckily, I had also been given the wrong time for my final injection so we had an extra hour to play with.
Good luck to you both xx

Hi Lucypie
Thank you so much for your reply.  We are hopeful this time will be the one ^pray^ where all goes well.  It is tough because I am nervous and trying to tell him not to be nervous....very frustrating but fingers crossed....thanks again for your reply

Dumb question but would a pint or two help calm his nerves?
