Any stories of hope with IMSI?

Helloo!

I'm going into my third round of ICSI now and while we got lucky on the first round with a BFP (My beautiful little girl) it was with only one properly developing embryo out of 11 fertilised eggs.

Our second attempt failed with 12 mature eggs, of which only 3 fertilised (despite ICSI) and those three all stopped developing on day 4 - indicating sperm issues.

This has now been attributed to very poor sperm (low volume, low count, low motility, very high DNA fragmentation).

We know from the fact that our first round was successful that this is, for us, a numbers game and it's all about finding the few decent sperm. We want to avoid surgical retrieval and to that end we're now going with IMSI (and embryoscope to hopefully avoid the heartbreak of putting back embryos which turn out to have stopped developing on day 4...). I dream of having embryos to freeze as without this this will most likely be our last attempt.

Does anyone have any success stories of treatment with IMSI? - I know this is largely unproven technology but the theory seems sensible.

Hoping someone can share some hope on this as I'm having a day of wondering why we're going  through all this again with such low chances of success - I'm wondering why I'm not saving the money to give our beautiful daughter nice things - but I do still have such a strong urge to give her a sibling.

Im keen to hear more about success with IMSI too - I produced lots of eggs (nearly 16) then 10 were fertilised but come day 5 all but one had stopped developing. So I'm thinking this may be a way forward for us also.

Would be good to also understand if there is a down side to IMSI?

ladies, I am also considering IMSI. We've just had our first natural IVF which sadly ended in chemical and I think it's probably down to poor sperm quality. I am still not sure whether we want to pay additional money for IMSI, the main benefit is that it can identify sperm with vacuoles in their heads which ICSI cant but it's still no guarantee that the sperm chromosomes and DNA are OK. It seems that the best way to ensure success is to do what you can in terms of lifestyle and supplements. has anyone tried high doses of antioxidants to improve DNA fragmentation?
