My dd (aged 1) loves playing with a plastic kitchen cupboard at her nursery, (its quite big, she can stand next to it) where she happily stacks it, unpacks it etc for ages - i was thinking of getting her something like this at home ... has anyone bought something like this (wood would be great).  I've had a brief google but not too sure if i am searching using the right words as not too much comes up, or what does is very expensive ...
anyone got something like this, and if so did your LO play with it for quite awhile?

Thanks

Funny you should ask - I'm thinking about this myself. Our local independent toy retailer had one in the window on sale. A mere £146 *thud* I think Amy might be getting a plastic version of ebay! ;D

Toys R Us have a good variety of varying prices if you go to their website and put 'kitchen' in the search box. J's friend has one of the more expensive one's (http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Product.aspx/TruHome/TruLearning/TruToysRolePlay/TruToysRolePlayKitchen/718289) and my two both love it and play with it all the time when we go to visit.

Hi,

We've got a toy kitchen and it is played with every single day. L was about 15m when we got it and he loves it more than H :)

Have a look at these.....

My friends got some lovely wooden peices she got from ikea a few years ago but i'm not sure they do them anymore.

Hope that helps

We have this ELC one. M got it for his 2nd birthday and he's still playing with it, most days. If not him, then someone else comes round to play with it!
It has a cooker and oven one side, and a dishwasher and sink on the other. It's quite fun.
The free extras are useless though - all plastic plates and cutlery and more pans when you've already got some with the kitchen set.
I went and bought a pack of play food to go with it for £10 - you really need something for them to pretend to cook with.
then whenever we have a bored moment I just say "M will you cook me some ham and cheese and a piece of pizza please?" and he obliges. Worst thing is you have to sit and pretend to chew plastic food all day!!
All in all I'd say good value but it does take up a bit of space!!
