HI Girls

Me again, sorry for being such a pain about this, and thanks for your previous replies.  Now that I know..hopefully..that the dosage is OK, I now have the problem of where, or even IF,  I can buy it.

My GP won't prescribe it for me, claiming that the cost is too high, and that there isn't sufficient evidence to prove that it helps prevent MC with my type of thrombophilia. Even though Mr ******* has recommended I have it... ???.  It makes me quite angry, as the local 'specialist' acknowledges that I have sticky blood, and prescribes asprin, but refuses heparin... ^bigbad^. Surely after 4 mcs and a diagnosis of thrombophilia what harm can trying heparin do?

Anyway, the IVF clinic (Reprofit) are willing to send it to me, but at a shipping cost of 100 euros per box  + 5 euros a day for the drug. That's quite a lot of money. .. ::)

So, I know I am clutching at straws, but does anyone know if it's possible to get it on a private perscription? Or from ANYWHERE?

Thanks again for your help....

What a shame that your GP won't prescribe it - it is a bit expensive.  My current clinic prescribe it for me and I just pick it up from a local chemist.  It is widely available so I'm sure you won't have any problem buying it with a prescription.  During my last tx in the States, my clinic would issue The International Pharmacy with a script and they would post the meds directly to me while I was in the UK.

Good luck.

Thanks she-hulk

You are lucky to have such a nice GP.  You say that you got a an international script, but did that not cost quite a lot too for the shipment?  Sorry, I have no idea how international scripts work.... ^idiot^

I'm not sure if Reprofit's prescription will work at chemists here.  While I was at SIRM, I was based here for the initial part of the tx.  The International Pharmacy have a branch in London and I presume the drugs came from them.  SIRM would email them a script and they would despatch the drugs.  It would be worth seeing if Reprofit could do something similar so that you can save on those high shipping costs.
