Hi Gwendolyn,
Congratulations on the BFP and please try not to worry! I had my first scan at 5 wks 5 days, and saw just a tiny sac. We had another scan 2 days later and saw the yolk sac for the first time but were told that it was very small, which put a lot of doubt in our minds. However, when we went back for a 7 week scan, they finally saw the embryo and a lovely heartbeat! So we went from being really scared that we had a non viable pregnancy to an embryo which is exactly the right size. Obviously they do a lot of growing in just 7 days.
The fact that you are still having pregnancy symptoms is a really good sign, so although it is the hardest thing in the world to do, try to relax - the yolk sac in itself is a good sign. Can you try and get an earlier scan to reassure you?
Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you.
Love,
Catherine
