I am currently on 60mg Clexane and have also been taking 75mg aspirin. I'm 19 weeks pregnant and have a clotting dissorder- factor v leiden. I'll be on the clexane till 6 weeks after the birth. Just wondering, does anyone know should i continue with the aspirin? i only have enough left to do me another week and u need a prescription to buy baby aspirin here in ireland (although i do have some which I bought in london a few mths ago but it says on box not suitable during pregnancy). for those of you taking aspirin is it a special brand you're taking or do u just buy any brand in the uk?

Hi, I also have factor v leiden and I'm on Fragmin (same as Clexane just different name) and 75mg aspirin. I saw a hematologist a few weeks ago and she agreed with my consultant that I should continue taking it. I have a review appointment at 34 week.

I got the last lot of aspirin on prescription from my GP but have also bought it over the counter in the past. I think it might say that you should only take it on doctors orders duirng pregnancy on the box I had but as long as it contains only 75mg aspirin and nothing else it should be ok.

Good luck  :)

I'm also on clexane and junior asprin.  I just buy any brand over the counter.  I have heard of many people (pregnant and otherwise) taking this low dose asprin as a precautionary health benefit without doctors advice so guessing it can't do too much harm???  Although I have no medical qualifications to back that up with  ;D. x
