**In response to member comments we are changing the titles of the new BFP threads to reflect due date as not everyone gets their BFP at exactly the same point. The threads will now also be bi-monthly (i.e. in two monthly groupings) as it will help to keep the chat relevant to any given stage of pregnancy (or newborn development - the birth threads will adopt this approach too)**

Congratulations and welcome to your new home :) Please let me know your first scan and due date for the list :) Happy chatting :-* :-*

woohoo - been waiting for this thread to start lol.  Early days, but got my BFP last Thursday - got 7w scan booked for 17th May, and can't wait.  Didn't have such an early scan last time round so not sure what to expecte.  I calculate my due date to be 2nd Jan 2012 - seems a heck of a long way off.

Been feelin absolutely knackered for the last 2 weeks - I could do with a nap every afternoon, and if I didn't have a 4yr old to entertain I probably would have one.  Also having lots of cramps and twinges - but thankfully no sickness yet.

Looking forward to seeing lots of other girls (especially my IUI buddies) moving over here with their BFPs

Hi!  Just thought I would pop by to say that I had my first ever BFP today.  I am due on 6th January.  It all feels a little surreal at the moment but felt a need to make the transition from treatment to pregnancy.  It really hasn't sunk in at all.

Would be very grateful for any hints and tips for anyone with regards to avoiding miscarriage and helping the growth and development of my little embryo.

Thank you, xx.

Hey KG - fab to see you over here.  I thought you'd be about the same date as me cos your test date was really late wasn't it.  I'm doing ok ta - feeling absolutely knackered, but so far not sick at all - wasn't sick with DS so hoping I'll be lucky again.  Am also really emotional - my poor DH hasn't copped it yet, but it's only a matter of time.  I was in bits watching the wedding today lol.  How are you feeling?

Have been off work (pre-booked hols) since I got BFP - back on Tues and I don't know how I'm gonna keep this to myself.  Have you told anyone at all yet?  Understandable that you're a bit nervous after last time, but there's no reason why this one won't be a happy, healthy pregnancy - looking forward to you keeping me company the next 8 months x x x x x

Dainton - congratulations on your BFP - woohoooooooo!!!!!  Was that your first cycle of ICSI then?  Well done you.  I think the best thing you can do for your little bean is to relax, and enjoy.  As far as I can tell m/c's just happen - there's generally nothing you can do to avoid it - my view is that I'm pregnant - I'm going to have a baby in 8 months or so and am not going to even think about anything going wrong (I do fully appreciate that for ladies who've suffered m/c's this thinking is probably not going to work).  All you can do is eat healthily, and look after yourself xxxxxxxxxxxxx  Looking forward to getting to know you

Dainton - good to see you here -it means I must be in the right place! I'm still in total shock and it feels really strange to be in the pregnancy section. I even re tested again today (so that's three days in a row now with the same result). Have to admit that I'm probably even more anxious now than I have been throughout - I was convinced that we wouldn't even get as far as ec… then when we had a six and seven cell (not exactly top grade either) put back after 3 days we weren't holding up much hope. Actually had lots of swimming competition planned for the summer and bought 2 pairs of skinny jeans last week. It hasn't felt right saying on the sb thread (after all that's been happening recently - as I know so many would love to be writing here) but I'm actually finding this really tough (again) and really hope that I can hang onto my little embie(s?!) and its there when I have the scan (20th May) which seems a life time away at the moment.

Em/Holly - my OTD was yesterday (28th) scan is 20th May and I don't have a clue about EDD just assuming it's the start of Jan.

Wolla and KG - looking forward to getting to know you over the coming months.

Good evening ladies,

I think i feel just about confident enough now to say I really am pregnant... My Due date is 2 January and I've got my early scan booked in for May 16th. Can't wait to see how things are getting on. I'll be 7 weeks that day and really hoping to see a little early heartbeat.

Hello ladies, I recognise some of you from the Spring Beginnings thread, but to call of us congratulations for getting so far!

I'm really trying to stop thinking of myself as an IVF patient at this point and enjoy the experience. In particular I even went back to my regular exercise class yesterday, although after 5 weeks off (for stimming and then recover from EC/ two week wait) it was tough going - I've lost a lot of fitness (and put on about 6-7 lb since TX). I was really nervous about going back but I've found an excellent book which talks through all the pros and cons of exercising while pregnant and what to look out for to prevent overdoing things.... still a bit worried though but it helps me relax and also really want to be as fit and healthy for this baby as possible!

Quick question though... Do you ladies "Feel" pregnant yet? I'm afraid so far I keep forgetting and when I remember it feels a bit like this is all happening to someone else, in that I'm interested but can't really imagine having a baby at the end of this.

Love to all.

Hi Cat
Good to see you here too.
Really interested in how you are monitoring you’re exercise. I did keep going most of the way through tx albeit very steady. I’m very conscious now not to overdo it but like you really want to make sure I’m fit and healthy as possible, its also my biggest stress release. Must have been lovely to go back to your classes.
What you have said about trying to stop thinking about be an IVF patient and trying to enjoy the experience really made me think……. and you are so right. I’ll be trying to do the same.
In terms of do I feel pregnant – I’m not sure. I feel like I have done for the last few weeks with some af like cramping, fatigue and my (.) (.) are a little tender.  How about you?

Hi Wolla, wow, we're on a board where we can talk about pregnancy (hee hee)! I wasn't sick with ds either, I've felt v slightly nauseous once or twice but that could be all the choccie egg I've been eating. No, we haven't told anyone and it doesn't really feel real yet, In fact I keep forgetting! Doesn't help that MIL is staying, so dh and I haven't really had a chance to talk yet either.

Congrats to all the other ladies, looking forward to getting to know you.

Dainton, sadly I don't think there is much you can do to avoid miscarriage, but I guess staying healthy eating well and getting plenty of rest are order of the for all of us.

Elka, I think it's normal to feel that this is tough, you've had all the stress of tx on top of the worries that all ladies feel when they are first pg. Personally I think we all have to focus so much on the 'happy ending' of a bfp, that it's a bit of a shock to the system to find more worry and more waiting once we get it. Personally, I keep the worry at bay by thinking 'well, I'm pregnant now, and all is fine until I have proof otherwise'!

Cat, I obviously don't 'feel' pg yet, as I don't really think I should be posting on this board (I popped on to say hi to Wolla, and now look, a long post!)

Take care, everyone,
Kx

Hi Ladies,
I had my official BFP yesterday although had been naughty and tested early, I think it is finally sinking in and will be happier when I get my scan arranged, will ring clinic on Tuesday. I have worked out that my due date is 3rd Jan.
This was my first attempt of ivf and feel so blessed that it worked for DH & I.

It is nice to see a few familiar names on here already and look forward to following everyone on our wonderful journey  :)

I just wanted to say, it is so lovely seeing so many Spring Beginnings coming onto this thread.  I was sad to think my time on Spring Beginnings had come to an end but it hadn't occurred to me that we would be reunited again in another thread.  It is so lovely to see so many familiar places and to be in such a wonderful place as a pregnancy thread!!  It's amazing!

Lots of love to all, xxxx.

Oh, there was one other thing, I forgot to mention.  I have a question.  My DH bought me a lavender oil diffuser.  I have read somewhere that lavender oil can bring on miscarriage.  Is this true or just another scare story?!

Dainton - I've heard the same, and stayed well away from Lavender last time round and will be this time too. I found this when I googled it http://everything-lavender.com/lavender-oil-pregnancy.html

Corrine - congratulations on your BFP x x

KG - yes, it's nice to be somewhere we can talk about it isn't it - just hoping that lots of our buddies from the IUI thread get to join us soon. Hope the MS stays away for you this time too then.

Flyingcat - sometimes I feel pregnant - it's the tiredness mainly. I could sleep all day - but then on a night I can't sleep at all and just can't get comfy (heaven help me in a few months time eh?)

Elka -^hello^

AFM - cramps are much less frequent now and boobs nowhere near as sore. We've told some close friends, and family our news as they all knew we were having tx and have helped out with childcare when we've had appointments and stuff - so felt they deserved to know. The person we most want to tell is our DS, but of course it's far too early - he'd expect the baby to arrive tomorrow lol - he's been asking for a baby sister for the past 2 years so can't wait to see his face when we tell him.

Hi Ladies,

Do you mind me joining you?  It is lovely to see so many of you from spring beginnings here and congratulations to the others, i look forward to going through this special journey with you and picking your brains to see if I am normal and experiencing what i should do.

I got my BFP on Wednesday (27th) and am not sure if it has really sunk in, it probably wont until our first scan on the 18th May.  DH and i have told a couple of close friends who knew about the treatment.  We have now also told his parents as we felt bad for keeping everything secret during the treatment, thankfully they understood why we didnt tell them.

I have been trying to work out my due date but was not sure if it was EC day, the day after or ET.  So far i have decided that it will be ET day as that works out as the 7th January and that is my grandmothers birthday.

At the moment i dont feel pregnant the sore boobs i had during treatment seems to have subsided but my skin is terrible and I even have a coldsore.  Also the tiredness is weird I can sleep for most of the day but have been waking up at 3am and then again at 6am, apparently my DH said i am talking to them and ask if they are getting me ready for the sleepless nights ^idiot^.

Thanks for the tip on lavender - i will definately be staying away from that
