Hi Mamochka

My 6 wk scan will be taking place a little late as my DP will be away, so it's on 19th Nov instead of 13th!
Yup, feeling tired too - comes in waves, guess I should try and nap too!

Hopefuls - how did it go? Thinking of you!!

Hi ladies
Bit nervous about joining this thread as still can't believe I'm finally pg after 4 years and 5 cycles!!
My OTD was 2nd nov but tested day after, was too scared to burst the PUPO bubble!
My 7 week scan is Monday 18th nov and according to the due date calendar on here, I'm also 7/7/14!!!!!!
Had a nightmare today - need HcG and prog levels checking but as I'm with a Spanish clinic, had to find a private hospital - went to one today and nurse only told me after she'd taken blood that results take 5 days, arghhh!!!! Then realised tonight that I've been missin out one of my prog pessaries every day, for last 3 weeks, and worried sick now.
Never easy is it?!!

Went to ProcreaTec in Madrid, Spain. They have been excellent, much more laid back than in the UK which has taken lots of getting used to, but couldn't fault them. Went through a lady called Ruth Pellow who runs a business called ivftreatmentabroad.com. She has been brilliant and made our first cycle abroad much easier and wouldn't hesitate to use her, and the clinic, again. ProcreaTec have their own thread in the Spain section, have a look and shout if have specific questions

Hopefuls, please don't worry - are you drinking enough and eating enough? Just take it easy  ^hugme^

Bridge2Jones - Yes like you I didn't want to look at the HPT, and when the hospital phoned me to tell me my beta result my heart was literally in my throat! It's a day at a time at the moment and I guess worrying a bit is part of the course! We're all in the same boat here and I hope we all succeed.
Don't worry about missing the progesterone - seems like whatever is happening is working - but give the clinic a call and let them know and they can advise on whether to keep status quo or go back to original dose, perhaps they can speed up the blood test results given the situation??? (I got mine 4 hours after testing so it defo is possible!) - worth asking.

Mamochka - good luck with test results  ^reiki^

Morning Orchid, thanks for your reply. It was actually the clinic that made me realise I wasn't taking enough progesterone! They asked me to tell them what drugs I had left to see if needed more, and when I told them how many utrogestan I had left, the nurse queried it and we discovered I was only taking one twice a day and not three times a day!! The trouble with Spain is everything is so much more informal and laid back, protocol was either emailed or handwritten so easy to misunderstand or miss things out. Nurse said yesterday that if my progesterone level was a problem, it probably wouldn't have let me get a BFP at all, guess that's all I can hang on to, just know that if sometihng went wrong now, I'd blame myself. Missing a third of my dose for 3 weeks sound like a lot to me. Nothing I can do now though other then hope all will be well now I'm on proper dose.

What's made it all more frustrating is that yesterday morning, before we realised I wasn't taking enough, I'd done a 2 hour round trip to a private hospital to get a beta HcG and progesterone blood test (now more important than ever!) and aft nurse had taken bloods and done all paperwork, she announces that results will take 5 days and will go to my GP and not my clinic, just because they're not in the UK - arghhh!!!!!!!!!

I've just spent the last hour trying to find another clinic to get the bloods done again with a much quicker result - but none of the private hospitals or fertility clinics within a 40 mile radius will do it because I'm not their patient, it's so annoying. I don't know what else to do, think I just have to carry on, hope all is well and wait for the results of yesterday's bloods to come back, even if they're almost irrelevant by the time we get them!!!

This is the only time since we started this cycle, that I've questioned our decision to go abroad,it makes aftercare so much harder.

Hi Bridge2jones,

I'm out of suggestions :/ surprised they can't  pull their finger out and expedite the blood results. But I do agree the best thing is to focus on what's real - the fact you ARE pregnant!! Woohoo!!! So things are going along just fine. I may not be on the same progesterone prep as you (I'm using 400mg cyclogest pessaries twice daily?), however when I had my progesterone levels taken (because I was bleeding at the time of OTD) it was at 90 and it had to only be at 30 or above, so you never know even with your lower dose it may still be enough - and I say it again - the fact you ARE pregnant shows that things must be in the right place  :) , I personally think your levels will be just fine.

It's not easy but try not to worry about the bloods. As 'fertility' patients we are so focused on all of these clinical parameters, when really nature makes most of the decisions even with all the fiddling we and the experts do in the background! I think nature thinks its your time now ^daisy^

What a lovely reply orchid, thank you so much for taking out the time to write such a nice reply xxx

I am on utrogestan which I think is just a different brand name of progesterone pessaries to cyclogest, have heard of them too. Mine are 200mg capsules so in effect have been taking 400mg per day and not 600mg as should have been. With my 4 cycles in the UK, I was prescribed 800mg per day, guess thats part of my worries. But you're right, I'm sure they prescribe us much higher doses than needed, just to be safe so have everything crossed!!

It is a constant worry and you're right, we search for every stat and result, always wanting to know if we are ok, it's so hard! We spend all this time desperately trying to get that BFP, then we finally get it and we don't celebrate because we are almost planning for it to go wrong! I do have a history of mc's so I know there are reasons for my doubts but they were all with my own eggs, now proven to be knackered! I now have embryos, half made of eggs for someone 12 years younger than me - so I probably just need to zip it and smile!!!!

Thanks again for your kind words xx

Hello ladies

Congratulations to you all on your BFPs.  I've been lurking since Monday when I got my first ever ^BFP^, but I didn't want to post until I had my second HCG back as I'm so paranoid about this working.

My first beta-hCG (04/11) was 49 IU/L (I was worried this was low as everyone else seems to be much higher) but Google said it's about right for 3-4 weeks pregnant (I had a hatching blast 5dt on 26/11).

My second beta-hCG this morning was 135 IU/L (doubling every 32hrs).  Apparently that's what it should be and I should stop worrying now!!

I haven't worked out my EDD or booked any more tests or scans as yet.  I expect my EDD will be about the same as the rest of you (early July 2014).  I have a hospital appointment on Monday at St Thomas' hospital Lupus clinic (I have a history of blood clots) so I'll speak to them and see what they recommend.  If I can't get an early scan through the NHS then I'll book a private one.

Bridge2Jones - I'm on 2 x 400mg cyclogest pessaries (one in the morning, one at night).  I had progesterone tested on my cancelled cycle last month and it was 31 after being on them for about a week.  I guess it depends on what meds you are taking and how well you absorb them.  Did you say you went through Ruth Pellow?  Have you asked her what she thinks?  I went to Iakentro in Greece through Ruth.  Also where do you live?  I went to Dr Lab in London and they turned my results around in 4 hours.

Are you all still in as much shock as I am?  Can't believe this is real, I'm still getting some AF like pains in my lower abdomen and I'm now starting to get headaches (although that could be from all the worrying) and I felt a bit nausea this morning (but that could be because I had breakfast late).  Are the rest of you getting any symptons, real or imaginary  ;D

hello ladies! misty welcome -great doubling!

I am back from my test today and for some reason in low spirits. Will be waiting for the call impatiently but already know that doubling slowed down as digital test did not show +3weeks (HCG>2000). Oh well, hopefully little one just became a bit lazy. Lets see what the clinic says... :(

Mamochka, please try not to worry, I read lots of stories on the internet about the digital test prediction dates, apparently they are not as accurate as they would have us believe.  It will depend on what time of day you tested and how concentrated your pee was.

I should be 2-3 week, but the Clear Blue digital is still showing me as 1-2 weeks.  I've given up on them as they were making me anxious. ???
