Hello! Hope that more ladies will get on here and join. I am currently almost 11 weeks pregnant with baby #3. I was blessed to have twin girls in December 2017. My due date is March 12, 2020. Hopefully some ladies will join here from the early pregnancy thread. Looking forward to chatting with you all!
Feels way too soon for this but I'm sure it will slowly sink in I'm allowed here I'm 11+4 with my first. Due date is March 5, 2020.
NHS scan booked for September 3rd. Excited but nervous! Had a private scan already at 8+2, everything perfect. Got everything crossed all is progressing nicely. In the meantime, I love listening to LO's HB on our doppler. Best thing I ever bought. Symptoms like MS, twinges, frequent weeing, overheating & exhaustion are still going strong.
Cris76 - Wonderful to share such a close due date. What a beautiful picture of your twins! After having 2 girls, do you find yourself leaning towards a particular gender this time?
omno - Hello and congrats on the pregnancy! That is amazing that you can already hear the heartbeat on your own doppler. I have considered getting one but I thought maybe it would make me more anxious if I didn't know how to use it properly and couldn't find a heartbeat somehow. Do you find it's easy to use? Where did you get yours? As for the symptoms, I right there with you. So tired all the time and I have bad nausea. I did as well when pregnant with my girls and I had to take meds until 24 weeks when it finally went away. I hope it doesn't last that long this time! Oh my, and the overheating is CRAZY. You are in the UK right? I am from Canada and it has been very hot this summer. Today it feels like 36 degrees outside with the humidity. Downright nasty.
Thank you for the compliments on my girls pic! That was from their one year photo shoot. They looked like little angels to me. I am open to a girl or a boy! Would be nice to have a boy since we have 2 girls now but I also loooove little girls! So I would be happy either way. Will you be finding out the gender? What is an NHS scan? is that the one where they check for Downs, etc? I will be having my 12 week ultrasound on August 30. Then my first OB appt is scheduled for Sept 11.
Thank you! Same to you! I bought the doppler with all the same worries & almost felt silly youtubing how to use it, but honestly it's so easy! It's just locating baby for the first time that's the worry. After that initial search it now only takes me 30 seconds. The difference in the heartbeats is so obvious that it comes down to common sense really. Mine is the Sonoline B which I ordered from babydoppler.com because it was on sale, haha. 24 weeks 😟 ah I hope mine doesn't last that long. I don't think I could cope! Yeah I live near London. Weather can't make its mind up at the moment. Look forward to wrapping up for winter with a bump. Ah I've dreamed about living in Canada after a few holidays spent there (Whitby, Ontario). Although I'll give it a miss whilst you're experiencing the heat! Sounds awful. I spent 2 weeks of this pregnancy in Vegas & that was horrendous enough.
Ah you're more than welcome. They really do look angelic! You've got us wanting a little girl now. I'd honestly be delighted whatever they announce. DH would prefer a boy but I reckon that will all change once he's handed his tiny newborn. Yes so my next scan on 3rd Sept will be done under our National Health Service so I don't have to pay privately. They'll be performing a nuchal translucency scan and BT to check for downs etc. Quite nerve-wracking. 2/3 weeks after that we have a private scan booked to find out the gender (I'll be 16wks roughly) as they don't offer it on the NHS until 20+ wks. So excited! Are you going to find out the gender? Does your partner have a preference?
I need to check out this Sonoline B. I will let you know if I end up getting it. Still undecided! Ahhh, you have visited Whitby? I live a couple cities over from Whitby. My sister in law and her husband just bought a nice house in Whitby as well. When was the last time you visited? Was it family? I have never been to the UK except for travelling through the airport on a connecting flight. Yes the heat is awful...especially when pregnant and feeling tired and nauseous. I stay cooped up inside most of the time because I just can't deal with it. We are having a heat wave today and tomorrow where temps will reach 37-38 degrees with the humidity. Can you imagine?? Vegas heat is downright nasty too.
Yes your DH will definitely change his mind if you end up having a girl. When we were pregnant with the girls, for some reason I was positively convinced we were having one of each. When we found out it was 2 girls, it was quite the shock! I know my DH was hoping that one would be a boy. But honestly, now I see how he is with them and they are 100% daddies' girls and they have him wrapped around their little fingers. Lol. I think my DH might be secretly wanting a boy but I know he will be happy no matter what. Yes we will most definitely be finding out the gender but I will have to wait until 20 weeks! Will be so exciting for you to find out at 16 weeks...are they pretty much certain they can tell what the gender is with certainty at that stage? Will you be doing the Harmony/Panaroma test as well? We decided not to and just do the NT scan and bloods etc.
Yes definitely, I'm getting on really well with it. I appreciate it can't identify issues or anything so I'm still quite anxious about my 14wk scan but it does bring some comfort to the day-to-day. I absolutely loved Whitby & Toronto. This was at least 5 years ago, we would stay with the sister of my ex. There was lots of new developments going on in and around there and I use to plead with my ex to buy one, haha. No such luck. I have to say though, I do love living in the UK. I know I'd miss it if I left. Ergh, those temps sound horrendous. No thank you. 🥵 You must be so uncomfortable, hun.
Aw your story gives me so much hope that he'll be made up with his little girl no matter what. He picked out a gorgeous Ted Baker dress the other day for his 2 year old niece and he looked like he was in his element. I've got a feeling he'll be just fine. I would have had to wait till 20 weeks too so I completely understand. DH can't ever make the week day appointments so by booking it privately we've managed to secure a Saturday. I'm not clued up on the Harmony/Panaroma tests. I don't know if they're offered on the NHS with this being my first pregnancy. I wouldn't be against having them unless it was £1000's privately with a low risk. Might have to do my research, thanks for mentioning them! I completely respect your decision when faced with what tests to have. My sister just had a 4D scan and for some reason, I really don't like them, but I love that fact that she adores it. It's just not for me. Guess we're all different.
The bump is slowly starting to show 🥰 starting to feel more real. I've replaced all my work tops with looser fitting ones made from a cooler fabric as I'm still overheating. What fluids are you having? I can't seem to stomach most things but I'm feeling dehydrated alot.
I'm honestly such a rubbish replier lately. These weeks are just rolling into one.
HD- Lovely to see you here! I felt a little anxious joining this thread too. That's really sweet that you've each used an egg. Like yourself, I haven't had a scan since 8+2 so I'm quite nervous for the one next Tuesday. Really looking forward to hearing how you get on Friday!
Cris- Hope you and the girls are doing well my lovely! Your OB appointment won't be very long after my scan 😊
I've recently grabbed some bio-oil but feel a bit silly as the bump is the size of a lemon at the moment. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to apply it anyway...
Feeling brave so decided to join the due date chat
I'm 12w5d, and due 6th of March. I've had my 12 week scan at 11w6d, and was measuring right on track with a nice heartbeat, (altho she didn't actually measure the hb) but sounded lovely when we heard it for the first time. She said i have a anterior placenta, after reading up about this I might not feel baby moving very much and would be much later once I do, so that's good to know now before i worry. Also the nt measurement was 1.2mm, haven't read up about it so no idea if that's good. Had bloods drawn too regarding does etc but don't know those results.
This will be our first baby. I'm praying things continue to go well for us. We have already announced a few days ago as it was getting difficult to hide it from friends and family due to lots of weddings recently. Got another scan booked in for when I'm 15weeks. So got my fingers crossed all is still okay then.
I did have bleeding constantly from 5 and a half weeks till 10 weeks but that thankfully has stopped. At my 8 week scan they could see a pool of blood near the implantation area which has now been reabsorted.
Symptoms: all day nausea since 6 weeks, constipation (due to not drinking enough fluids), sensitive nipples, bloating, indigestion and heatburn on and off. Feeling tired most of the time. Hoping the nausea will ease off completely soon so I can start enjoying the pregnancy.
Haven't had a chance to read this thread yet, but hope you're all doing okay xx
Omnom - hoping I'm back on here on Friday afternoon/evening with good news. Feels so close but far away at the same time, think I'm getting more nervous as I get closer to that day. Thank you, yeah, it's lovely that it's possible to create a family that way. Looking forward to seeing what similarities they both have as we don't have any photos of the donor. Not silly at all to start applying Bio Oil, go for it! I started using the special pregnancy cocoa butter cream last time and Bio Oil. I used the cocoa butter from about 5 weeks I think, thought it was better to just start softening that area up early! I've been a bit rubbish with it this time but must get better because my belly already feels huge! I usually did cocoa butter in the morning because it wasn't too greasy and then did Bio Oil just before bed to give it time to soak in. Have you started to get a bump?
Cakebaby - I look forward to following your journey I had an anterior placenta with my first pregnancy and felt movement just before my 20 week scan, it was on and off and some days I didn't really feel anything at first but then it really started to increase. At my 9 week scan I noticed that the notes said anterior again, bit of a shame as I love feeling those movements! Wondering if it can change/move though as my friend's placenta was covering her cervix and they thought she may need a c-section but they checked again a few weeks later and it had moved!
That's good to hear your experience with anterior placenta before. Apparently as the baby grows the placenta can grow and move with the baby, so I guess it is possible to change slightly. Good luck with your scan Friday. I was absolutely bricking it when I went for my scan. I was kind of convinced we'd have had news as I didn't think we'd be so lucky. I'm still trying hard to convince myself that all will be okay and I just have to be positive. X
Hello ladies!! I was a bit rubbish at keeping up with posts on the early pregnancy thread, but hoping to be better here, as less tired now. Still feel a bit funny posting here, I am 11+3 today. I have my 12 week scan this Thursday (little earlier than 12 weeks, but it's the NHS one, think it can be anytime between 11-14 weeks?).
I had a private scan at 10 weeks, which was amazing! Heard the baby's heart and it already looked so much more like a little baby, I was surprised! Can't wait for the scan on Thu, but not so excited about all the tests. In other news, my symptoms have eased off a bit and I can't stop eating! I already have a little bump and booobs!!!
Eeeek...can't believe I'm I'm in this new thread! Excited to follow everyone's journeys! xx
I posted an update in the early pregnancy thread, but my scan on Friday went well. Baby was very wriggly and making it tricky to get measurements. Amazing to see how much they're moving around when you can't feel any of it!
Booked a gender scan for the end of the month, very excited! Have a big feeling that it's another boy after the huge bump that we saw between the legs at the scan, but lets see if we're right!
Hope we're all doing well & simply watching the months fly by like myself. I'll blink and it will be Halloween, and then I'll be throwing one of these up 🎄 before I know it.
Let us know how you got on with your scan Evie! Super excited to find out. Glad your appetites back & your symptoms have eased. I'm rubbish with replying on here too so I can totally relate. I'd like to think this is going to be quite a relaxed thread seeing as we're gonna be here for a while so I'm sure it won't matter.
HD - Fantastic news about your scan! Definitely can appreciate the wriggling as we had the same problem. I have to chase our LO with the doppler now as they simply won't stay still very long. Can't wait till your gender reveal! Hope you're feeling OK so far. What would your eldest prefer in terms of a brother or sister? The advice with the cocoa butter and bio oil were perfect btw. Deinfitely made sense to do them in that order. I don't remember everyday but I really try, ha.
Cris - Bless, you must be so busy with your girls. Just hoping everything is well with you. Hope to hear from you soon and find out how you got on with the OB.
Cake - Hi and welcome! Lovely to hear everything is going well so far for you. Our midwife explained that an NT of less than 3mm was ideal. The bleeding must have been so nerve wracking. So glad it's resolved itself. Your symptoms sound identical to mine (apart from the heartburn). It always fills me with relief to hear others are experiencing all the same things, even if they're not always the most wonderful symptoms😄. I remind myself that it all very reassuring until we feel some movement. Be lovely to hear your nausea has eased soon. I've just seen we share the exact same due date! Eeek. Have you had your 15wk scan & if so, how did you get on?
16wks Friday and the bump is really growing. I love it! I never reported back about my (near 14wk) scan. All was perfect aside from a shy baby who didn't want to be measured 😂. Bless them. The movements the sonographer made me do were a little humiliating but we got there in the end. She called my baby 'awkward' and my hackles went up, ha. Results showed a super low chance of anything like Downs etc which we were relieved about. The thought of being first time parents is scary enough for us. So yes, all looking good so far.
Gender scan this Saturday. Sooooooo excited to share the experience with DH. We both can't wait. Hoping to update you all soon with good news and to confirm if we have a baby with a winkle or not.
Omnom - I know, I keep thinking about the scan, can't wait to just know! 9 more days. I don't think my little boy has much of an idea about boys and girls yet. He has a lot of little friends of both genders and plays well with both. Hoping he's young enough not to care about it! He's 20 months now and has finally just started walking, so exciting! That good, I keep forgetting too! I took the Bio Oil away with me in the summer too and now I can't find it!! Just using the cocoa butter for now.
Look forward to hearing your gender update at the weekend!
Good to see you on here Claudia also looking forward to getting to know everyone and following the pregnancies.
Hope your scan went well Omnom!
When we found out my little boy's gender we just told people and showed them the photo where it said 'boy' on the scan. Decided to do something a little bit different this time. Have ordered confetti cannons (had to get pink and blue ones because obviously we don't know which one we need!) and will make a little video of us showering him with confetti. Hoping it's not too loud and doesn't scare him!
For family I'm making some little cakes the night before and after the scan going to come back and either put some pink or blue sweets inside. My work are doing the Macmillan coffee morning on the Monday so going to take some in for them too. So excited!!
Got an appointment with a consultant on Tuesday to talk about what happened at my last birth and to discuss an elective c-section, then got the midwife on Wednesday. Busy week with 3 baby appointments!
We had our private 16wk scan Saturday & everything looked just as it should. Baby measuring perfectly with a strong HB. She confirmed we're having a little boy 💙 and we honestly couldn't be more thrilled. We wrapped up a tiny outfit for my Nanna to do the reveal (she's in a care home) and filmed her reaction. It was wonderful.
Now we wait for the 20wk scan. We've promised ourselves we won't be purchasing anything until much later in the pregnancy, maybe catch the Boxing Day/January sales. I just hope work distracts me in the meantime. I might have to grab myself a pregnancy pillow while I wait!
HD - Those ideas sounds brilliant! We'd originally thought of a big family pass the parcel to involve all the nieces and nephews but sadly there's not one moment we're all in the country at the same time what with holidays and such. Might save that idea for any siblings, haha. Best of luck with all your meetings this week. Was the gender scan this Saturday coming for you?
Claudia - Lovely to see you here! There's quite a few of you on baby#2 that I feel like a novice 😄. Look forward to your updates too.
Lovely news a little boy! Did you have any guesses about the gender beforehand? Another good time that I found to shop during my first pregnancy was Black Friday. Amazon was especially good! I remember getting quite a few things from there and Mamas and Papas. Even shopped ahead and got a Jumperoo for much cheaper because we knew we'd want one anyway in a few months. If you can get yourself to a Baby Show (the big London and Birmingham ones) you'll get brilliant deals too. I'm going to the London one in October. A pregnancy pillow is fab, definitely get one! I got a huge one from Amazon.
Yes, ours is this Saturday, want the days to hurry up! We're having the same issue with family not being together so we're getting most of my side of the family on Saturday afternoon/evening then probably seeing some of my partner's family on the Sunday. People we can't see will hopefully get a lovely video of a confetti cannon going over our son!
