Hey!

Feels way too soon for this but I'm sure it will slowly sink in I'm allowed here :) I'm 11+4 with my first. Due date is March 5, 2020.

NHS scan booked for September 3rd. Excited but nervous! Had a private scan already at 8+2, everything perfect. Got everything crossed all is progressing nicely. In the meantime, I love listening to LO's HB on our doppler. Best thing I ever bought. Symptoms like MS, twinges, frequent weeing, overheating & exhaustion are still going strong.

Cris76 - Wonderful to share such a close due date. What a beautiful picture of your twins! After having 2 girls, do you find yourself leaning towards a particular gender this time?

Thank you! Same to you! I bought the doppler with all the same worries & almost felt silly youtubing how to use it, but honestly it's so easy! It's just locating baby for the first time that's the worry. After that initial search it now only takes me 30 seconds. The difference in the heartbeats is so obvious that it comes down to common sense really. Mine is the Sonoline B which I ordered from babydoppler.com because it was on sale, haha. 24 weeks 馃槦 ah I hope mine doesn't last that long. I don't think I could cope! Yeah I live near London. Weather can't make its mind up at the moment. Look forward to wrapping up for winter with a bump. Ah I've dreamed about living in Canada after a few holidays spent there (Whitby, Ontario). Although I'll give it a miss whilst you're experiencing the heat! Sounds awful. I spent 2 weeks of this pregnancy in Vegas & that was horrendous enough.

Ah you're more than welcome. They really do look angelic! You've got us wanting a little girl now. I'd honestly be delighted whatever they announce. DH would prefer a boy but I reckon that will all change once he's handed his tiny newborn. Yes so my next scan on 3rd Sept will be done under our National Health Service so I don't have to pay privately. They'll be performing a nuchal translucency scan and BT to check for downs etc. Quite nerve-wracking. 2/3 weeks after that we have a private scan booked to find out the gender (I'll be 16wks roughly) as they don't offer it on the NHS until 20+ wks. So excited! Are you going to find out the gender? Does your partner have a preference?

Yes definitely, I'm getting on really well with it. I appreciate it can't identify issues or anything so I'm still quite anxious about my 14wk scan but it does bring some comfort to the day-to-day. I absolutely loved Whitby & Toronto. This was at least 5 years ago, we would stay with the sister of my ex. There was lots of new developments going on in and around there and I use to plead with my ex to buy one, haha. No such luck. I have to say though, I do love living in the UK. I know I'd miss it if I left. Ergh, those temps sound horrendous. No thank you. 馃サ You must be so uncomfortable, hun.

Aw your story gives me so much hope that he'll be made up with his little girl no matter what. He picked out a gorgeous Ted Baker dress the other day for his 2 year old niece and he looked like he was in his element. I've got a feeling he'll be just fine. I would have had to wait till 20 weeks too so I completely understand. DH can't ever make the week day appointments so by booking it privately we've managed to secure a Saturday. I'm not clued up on the Harmony/Panaroma tests. I don't know if they're offered on the NHS with this being my first pregnancy. I wouldn't be against having them unless it was 拢1000's privately with a low risk. Might have to do my research, thanks for mentioning them! I completely respect your decision when faced with what tests to have. My sister just had a 4D scan and for some reason, I really don't like them, but I love that fact that she adores it. It's just not for me. Guess we're all different.

The bump is slowly starting to show 馃グ starting to feel more real. I've replaced all my work tops with looser fitting ones made from a cooler fabric as I'm still overheating. What fluids are you having? I can't seem to stomach most things but I'm feeling dehydrated alot.

I'm honestly such a rubbish replier lately. These weeks are just rolling into one.

HD- Lovely to see you here! I felt a little anxious joining this thread too. That's really sweet that you've each used an egg. Like yourself, I haven't had a scan since 8+2 so I'm quite nervous for the one next Tuesday. Really looking forward to hearing how you get on Friday!

Cris- Hope you and the girls are doing well my lovely! Your OB appointment won't be very long after my scan 馃槉

I've recently grabbed some bio-oil but feel a bit silly as the bump is the size of a lemon at the moment. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to apply it anyway...

Hello ladies 馃憢馃槉

Hope we're all doing well & simply watching the months fly by like myself. I'll blink and it will be Halloween, and then I'll be throwing one of these up 馃巹 before I know it.

Let us know how you got on with your scan Evie! Super excited to find out. Glad your appetites back & your symptoms have eased. I'm rubbish with replying on here too so I can totally relate. I'd like to think this is going to be quite a relaxed thread seeing as we're gonna be here for a while so I'm sure it won't matter.

HD - Fantastic news about your scan! Definitely can appreciate the wriggling as we had the same problem. I have to chase our LO with the doppler now as they simply won't stay still very long. Can't wait till your gender reveal! Hope you're feeling OK so far. What would your eldest prefer in terms of a brother or sister? The advice with the cocoa butter and bio oil were perfect btw. Deinfitely made sense to do them in that order. I don't remember everyday but I really try, ha.

Cris - Bless, you must be so busy with your girls. Just hoping everything is well with you. Hope to hear from you soon and find out how you got on with the OB.

Cake - Hi and welcome! Lovely to hear everything is going well so far for you. Our midwife explained that an NT of less than 3mm was ideal. The bleeding must have been so nerve wracking. So glad it's resolved itself. Your symptoms sound identical to mine (apart from the heartburn). It always fills me with relief to hear others are experiencing all the same things, even if they're not always the most wonderful symptoms馃槃. I remind myself that it all very reassuring until we feel some movement. Be lovely to hear your nausea has eased soon. I've just seen we share the exact same due date! Eeek. Have you had your 15wk scan & if so, how did you get on?

16wks Friday and the bump is really growing. I love it! I never reported back about my (near 14wk) scan. All was perfect aside from a shy baby who didn't want to be measured 馃槀. Bless them. The movements the sonographer made me do were a little humiliating but we got there in the end. She called my baby 'awkward' and my hackles went up, ha. Results showed a super low chance of anything like Downs etc which we were relieved about. The thought of being first time parents is scary enough for us. So yes, all looking good so far.

Gender scan this Saturday. Sooooooo excited to share the experience with DH. We both can't wait. Hoping to update you all soon with good news and to confirm if we have a baby with a winkle or not.

Anyway, I'll catch up with you all shortly! xx

We had our private 16wk scan Saturday & everything looked just as it should. Baby measuring perfectly with a strong HB. She confirmed we're having a little boy 馃挋 and we honestly couldn't be more thrilled. We wrapped up a tiny outfit for my Nanna to do the reveal (she's in a care home) and filmed her reaction. It was wonderful.

Now we wait for the 20wk scan. We've promised ourselves we won't be purchasing anything until much later in the pregnancy, maybe catch the Boxing Day/January sales. I just hope work distracts me in the meantime. I might have to grab myself a pregnancy pillow while I wait!

HD - Those ideas sounds brilliant! We'd originally thought of a big family pass the parcel to involve all the nieces and nephews but sadly there's not one moment we're all in the country at the same time what with holidays and such. Might save that idea for any siblings, haha. Best of luck with all your meetings this week. Was the gender scan this Saturday coming for you?

Claudia - Lovely to see you here! There's quite a few of you on baby#2 that I feel like a novice 馃槃. Look forward to your updates too.

Hey all 馃憢

These weeks are flying & I lose track of time. 18+2 today 馃コ. I was woke up today by lots of little flutterings that interrupted my dream. I'm quite slim so I could literally see the skin over my bump moving by a fraction with every 'kick'. Its strange to feel it from both the inside & outside. I wonder if he's a little footballer or a ballerina. Or I have really strong gas?! Who knows 馃槀. Pregnancy pillow arrives today! So excited. Still no 20wk appointment letter. Grrr. I really want to see him again & let them do those really important checks. I hope everything's going to be OK 馃.

HD - I saw from the other thread that you're having a little boy too 馃挋 congratulations! That's brilliant news, hun! I really hope that you don't have any further issues. Is it now a wait and see sort of thing or could they actively prevent the blood pressure issue? Really hoping this is all just your norm and everything's going to be fine. I imagine your nervous but please stay hopeful. Sending you lots of positivity 馃檶.

Hope everyone else is doing well! Can't believe we're all nearly half way!

Hey HD - It is a little quiet! Not always the easiest to find time, I understand. Ah that's amazing you can feel those movements this time round. Aren't they the best? I think they're the most wonderful thing! DH got to feel one yesterday and he was over the moon. They're stronger than a 'flutter' now too so they really draw my attention. I love watching the skin jump about and knowing he's flexing those little limbs. Makes me a little anxious for when he gets more powerful 馃槼 haha. My left leg is numb around the knee when I stand. Like pins and needles. Weird how the nerves are affected.

The letter finally came! Wednesday 23rd, few days before I'm 21 weeks. Can't wait to see him again. DH booking the day off to join me and then take me out for lunch. Just hoping for a wonderful experience and a relaxing day now 馃.

Your son is going to love it! Two little boys 馃挋馃挋. If possible would you like more kiddos in the future? Wow, will they monitor you pretty closely then? Really hoping it's nothing of concern and you'll sail through this pregnancy.

20 week anomaly scan went really well. Our little boy is perfect 馃挋 His movements feel stronger and more distinctive everyday.聽 He was drinking amniotic fluid, hiccuping and moving constantly. Everytime his little legs would kick on the screen, I would feel it and it was just amazing. We have some lovely photos of him sucking his thumb. He was breech and had his head tucked between his legs which meant the heart was checked last, sonographer was so lovely though and let me stay until he uncurled himself for a moment. I really didn't want to leave and come back another day with such an important check left out. When I went over his notes at home, he seems to be measuring a week behind. I'm not too concerned but I'm wondering what others think? Perhaps his positioning didn't help.

Had a few outfits bought for us which is lovely. I'm being really good and only picking up 3-6 months when they're in the sale. I have a feeling he's going to be spoilt with newborn and 0-3 months bits. Especially over Christmas. Had both whooping cough and flu vaccines done so my arms feel like dead weight. I wondered if anyone would think I'd spent the day jacking up with two little plasters on each arm 馃き.

HD - Hope you can really feel LO's movements now. I think it's lovely that your partner might carry next time. What an amazing experiance to be able to share with one another and both completely relate to. Like yourself, the sonographer did a close up on the nose, lips and chin. Was amazing to see. Have you had your scan yet or is it soon?

Yesterday was a complete right off for me. I was in such intense pain. I thought it could be trapped wind as I had a sharp, constant ache on my right side, just below the rib, could feel it in my back too. I barely slept last night so I'm expecting it to hit me at work later 馃槾. Made some porridge today which helped massively. Not only do I now have a more frequent need to pee but also a tingling (not painful) sensation once I've peed. Looks like I could have a UTI again. The pain in my side which is now a dull ache could possible be kidney related?! Ah who knows. The wait to see a Dr is frustrating but I'll book just incase. Knowing my luck all the symptoms will alleviate and I'll end up looking like a time waster. I'm going to drink a ridiculous amount of water to see if that helps things. Thankfully, our little man is kicking all the time so I haven't really stressed about how he's doing throughout all this. He's probably quite oblivious and content in his cocoon.

HD - Ah! He's moving about more for you 馃グ it's the best isn't it! Yeah we had a cheeky fry up after our scan, it was so needed after stressing all morning. Completely understand where your nerves are coming from. I'm sure everything will go smoothly for you and you'll wonder why you worried, like me. Hopefully you can get the jabs rearranged too. Lovely to hear you've had some time off with your partner. Well needed rest. I'm so envious. Ah, we're counting down to Christmas as well. I start my maternity at the end of December so I'm constantly calendar watching! I won't be returning to work either which I feel quite fortunate about. Haven't got that worry about whether I'll be ready to leave him or not. If all goes well, we'd like to try IVF again in the future and keep them relatively close together of we can so it seems pointless to head back in between. Being a SAHM has always been something I've looked forward to but I can imagine if I had a more fulfilling and well paid career, I'd be tempted to return. I should use my time off wisely and invest in my studies!

Not long now till the scan 馃檶 so excited for you. It was such a wonderful day. Cant wait for your update.

What a lovely update 馃挋. Fantastic to hear he's healthy and doing well. It's good that you and your partner have a plan for the future in regards to work & that you've got part time hours for now. These years are so precious to spend with your LO's.

Feeling so much better now. Convinced I was dehydrated and had upset my kidneys in the process. Keeping my appointment with the Dr as I'm potentially constipated & the Lactulose isn't cutting it. I'll keep hydrated in the meantime.

Pregnancy is just 馃憣 sometimes 馃ぃ.

My thoughts exactly when it comes to childcare! I'm torn between starting my training in the career I want to pursue and homeschooling my LO's. I would love to do both but I'm not sure how it's possible when I hope to throw myself into the training wholeheartedly. In the short-term, homeschooling is the answer but then in the long-term, I haven't set myself up with a career yet that can support my children alongside my husband. Something for us both once they're older (perhaps senior school). Frustrating. I'm sure lots of parents find themselves in these sorts of predicaments. I'll have to make sacrifices I guess. I agree with the max of 4 days a week, that's definitely favourable if you can. I'd love the same.

I have to admit that shortly after writing my post the other day, I actually got over my bit of constipation, ha. Relieved. I cancelled my Dr's appointment too as I ended up drinking so much water that all the pains went and I feel myself again. Could have been anything but I'm guessing dehydration played a large part. Our little boy is moving about so much at the moment, it's amazing. I'm counting down the days until next Friday when I'm officially 24 weeks. For some reason in my head, that's always been the goal. 3 weeks till my GTT, then a midwife appointment and lastly a consultant appointment at 28 weeks. I'll blink and be breaking up for Christmas & my maternity. Woo!

Updates:

I've enrolled our LO up to a nursery that has children from 1-5. My mum works for the church that it's based within & she can't praise them enough. The waiting list is quite long so they recommended I completed his form early. It's not exactly cheap but I've heard so many good things about them from friends & family. It would be lovely to have him socialising and making friendships over those 4 years. I appreciate homeschooling has social limitations but I'm optimistic this will give him the best start.

I'm very grateful for my employer, he arranged a meeting with my husband and I, then we went through the protocol of how best to work the maternity pay in our favour. He's very understanding (he idolises his only daughter) and completely put my mind at ease. I look forward to leaving at the end of December even more now. I stand constantly for my job so I've given myself 2 months off as this is my first pregnancy and I'm not sure how I'm going to feel. Thought it would be best to allow myself time to rest up and actually start preparing for our boys arrival. Got some shopping to crack on with and I might as well use the January sales to my advantage 馃泹.

HD - Hope you're feeling much better m'lovely! So does this mean you have placenta previa? Its amazing how they can know these things & you're given time to prepare. Definitely feels like Christmas is hurrying things along. Won't be long before we have our consultations. My GTT is this Friday and my midwife app is next Friday. So excited! Hope you can arrange your maternity so you have more time with both your boys. How are you finding this pregnancy so far?

Kitkat - hey! I did have a private 16 week scan but this was purely to found out the gender and to have a sneak peak at him. The sonographer made me aware she would not be able to complete the more important checks that we would later have at 20weeks but she confirmed he looked happy and healthy for now. It's such a personal decision for you and because of that you should do whatever you feel most comfortable with hun.

HD - That 1:1 time will be wonderful and I'm positive your eldest will love nursery. Won't be long before they're playing together 馃槏. Ah I'm so jealous of the spa day, sounds amazing right now. Everything crossed that the placenta stays put and doesn't cause you any issues. Hopefully they become a little more efficient with the booking of your appointments as well! I can appreciate how frustrating that must be with another child to organise. How wonderful that your feeling LO move more! I think it's the best. Shame about your heartburn 馃様. Hope this pregnancy will continue differently to your last. I completely agree about the rising organs. Mine feel so squished, especially when I lean forward. On the plus side, my posture has improved! Ha.

GTT went without issues. Got to know the blood nurse well and she gave me a big hug before I left. Had the results since and all clear. Saw my MW today and our son is measuring bigger than expected. Depending on how the curve of the growth graph progresses with each check, it may be that they'll look at other options than letting him get too big. She worked out he would be approx. 10 [email protected] They would potentially induce early or look at a caesarian if he does indeed continue to grow at this rate, he might taper off a little or the measurement/positioning could have been off today as he's very high up. They'll check in a few weeks and get a better idea. Other than that she confirmed he was a happy and healthy baby and she had no issues with anything which was so lovely to hear! Thrilled.

Eeeeek, not long to Christmas, then only a few short months 馃檲 xx

HD - Ah it would be lovely if the MW was out with her measurements and he was smaller. Her prediction is quite nerve-wracking to be honest. Only have to wait until next Tuesday to get a better idea of his growth pattern. She's confident all will be fine so I'm choosing to have faith. No more NHS scans offered for me now sadly, just MW apps. What about you? I have booked a private 4d scan at the end of Jan, so DH, mum and mother-in-law can all nose at him one last time before he makes his appearance. When is the spa booked for? Excited for you!

Katkat - I find it really difficult to describe the movements. When they first started at 17 weeks, they were mere twitches/jabs just like how & where you're describing. Quick, sudden flickers of movement which felt more pronounced if I laid on my back and put my hands on my tummy. Thrilled to hear everything went well at your last appointment. I look forward to hearing the same about your 20wk scan. Won't be long at all now!

Mummykenny - Welcome to the thread 馃憢. Do you know the gender yet or is this something you're finding out this week? Best of luck with the scan, although I'm sure you won't need it.

Are any of us shopping yet?! I've literally just started picking up some bits. I even questioned whether I should pick up a breast pump in the Black Friday sales but decided against it. Chances are it will be even lower come January. Lots of opportunities over the next few months to grab the most expensive stuff in the bargains.

4x hypnotherapy sessions/birthing classes booked for January - quite excited to attend. Hopeful that DH will get something out of it as he's quite nervous and clueless, bless him. Also looking at 4 day retreat somewhere relatively local to give us a little 'us' time before LO arrives. You've definitely got me all envious booking Spa days, haha. Only 3 more weeks of work. 29th December could not come quick enough!!

Symptoms at 27+3 weeks:

- Short bursts of energy followed by an urge to take a breather
- Quick to dehydrate if not careful
- Cramps in legs, feet and fingers (probably the above causing it)
- Slowing of digestive system (very mild/occasional constipation)
- Gassy 馃檲
- Appetite to consume large meals but limited stomach capacity = rib ache
- Very itchy belly despite application of cocoa butter and bio oil daily
- Migraines (which I have always suffered with) have increased
- Addiction to cleaning has become a bit obsessive. Smell of the products I think
- LO's movements have become really pronounced & at times almost uncomfortable, though I still coo over them

Thought I'd make a note of these as a never did start a pregnancy diary. Perhaps others can relate 馃檶.

*Due to the ocular migraines, protein in urine & rib discomfort, I will be asking the consultant next Tuesday to check my risk of pre-eclampsia again. The MW checked my blood pressure the other week and said it would be abnormal if there was a risk. Hopefully the consultant agrees I don't have it.

Katkat - I'm in a similar position to you where I could be induced earlier and have a February birth but I just about remember to keep up with this thread, let alone another one 馃槀.

Congratulations Ally & Maeve88, and welcome! Lovely to see a more active thread.

HD - How fantastic that he let you get some decent snaps of his face. Very envious that you're getting to purchase the big stuff. Wish we could. I've listed everything that I want so it's ready to click 'pay' and I'll keep an eye on it all to see if it comes under any sales 馃. Sounds like a great excuse to revisit the spa. Think I'll join you.

Appointment Tuesday went well. Baby doesn't seem to be following the huge curve thankfully, though I'm not sure how accurate the measurements are with those strips of tape. He's still larger than expected so I have an NHS growth scan booked for tomorrow. Will update you all more then. Can't wait to see him. He kept me up during the night having a right good ol' jig about. Won't be long before I'm giving those little hands and feet lots of kisses.

Recently moved into our new home so everything is everywhere and we can't afford much of the baby stuff yet as I've gone crazy decorating the new place. DH has asked for some patience, ha. I'm just so excited to be all prepared! Another week closer to our maternity leave 馃コ.

Hey!

Mommykenny - That's fantastic news 馃挋. I'm worried I'm going to be outnumbered by the males in the house. Strong feeling if/when we have another one it will be a boy as well, haha. It's been a crazy year for sure. I think we've coped pretty well considering. Just skint 馃槀. Definitely looking forward to my leave next Sunday. I'm not returning to work either so its going to quite emotional. When are you looking to start your maternity?

HD - Move went really well, thank you! Just need my maternity to start so I can dedicate time to some thorough cleaning and organising. I've only ever heard of really positive experiences when it's elective! Hope it will bring you some peace of mind now. Eager to know the date you're given!!馃榿

HD & Katkat - Scan showed he was 3lb which the sonographer was more than happy with. She couldn't see any reason for needing to keep me on the growth check scheme which would mean a scan every 2 weeks. Instead I'll have another one in 4 weeks just to make sure everything is still on track. He's breach and facing my spine at the moment but plenty of time to swing round. After all that worry with his weight & he's perfectly fine 馃檪.

Katkat - The itching is definitely real but not to the extent that it feels like a rash. Yours sounds quite severe. Could you be having some form of reaction? I asked my MW a similar question and she replied that they change position quite often whilst they've got the room, until they finally drop and (hopefully) adopt their head down position. Everytime I go, he's hanging out at a different angle. I remember at my 16wk and 20wk scan they said he was 'transverse lie' so it all sounds the norm 馃憤.

Next update will be Tuesday. They've booked me in for a Christmas Eve midwife appointment. I'm working that day too so if I don't manage to message then I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with your bumps!! 鈽凁煄

Hoping everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! 馃槝.

Not a huge deal to report. I'm absolutely convinced LO has swung himself round and is no longer breech. I might be wrong but all his movements have changed. He's no longer standing on my cervix which is a relief 馃憣. Midwife app next Friday, hopefully I'll know for sure then. In the meantime I start my hypnobirthing classes every Wednesday from this week, think I might need them as the bigger my belly gets, the more daunting it all seems.

Boobs are absolutely smothered in veins now, seems like in the last week it's become really apparant. Sleep is pretty disturbed, up every 2/3 hours for the toilet. Good practise I suppose! House is coming along nicely. I've given up work for the foreseeable future so I've had plenty of time to crack on and start nesting.

HD - Part of the mucus plug perhaps? After a quick bit of research it seems to affect a number of ladies with their 2nd pregnancies. They've all said it regenerates and not to worry. Reassuring to hear nobody was concerned about it at the hospital. Can't believe you're discussing the week of your c-section already, are we really getting that close? Eeeeeeek! 2.5 weeks and you'll know when he's arriving. How exciting!! Have you got your preggo pillow yet? Its helped me sleep so much. I know I'll use mine way after I'm pregnant. Bit of a mood killer in the bedroom though as it divides us. Not that I'm complaining 馃槀.

Ally - They've kept me on the growth check list although they're not particularly concerned, so I will be scanned regularly till the end. Pretty sure without the initial wacky tape measurement that I would have had the two, regular scans. I have one last private 4D one booked too which I'm getting quite excited for now. Mum and mother-in-law are joining us so it should be quite special. Just hope LO cooperates 鈽. Lovely to hear you're really feeling the movements now!

Katkat - My mw app went well. I double checked my risk of preclampsia was low. Had a blood test to check my iron levels which I should have my results for this Friday. 馃 the results are all good. Admittedly I've not experienced any cramping or feelings of that nature so I can't give any advice as to how normal it is. I would imagine that due to baby moving about lots that there isn't much, if any concern and you're just getting sensations with all the movement.

Maeve - Sort of spent Christmas at the new place. We were out for so much of the day that it was a fleeting visit home for breakfast and dinner. Was lovely though. Did you have a nice Christmas & NY? Glad to hear the backache has eased! Hope you're finding some time to rest in these busy months. On the flip side, at least they will fly by for you. I fear not working will drag my last 8/9 weeks out.

32 week MW appointment has confirmed our little boy has swung round and into the head down position. Fingers crossed he stays that way and in doing so will keep all my options open. They checked his HB, size, movement, etc and everything is exactly as it should be. I've literally had no negative symptoms since we've moved, so I think entering into the new year no longer stressed has done baby and me wonders. MW has recommended I increase my iron levels, so I'll be booking a Dr's appointment quite reluctantly to get my prescription meds. No doubt I will have given birth before they see me.

First hypnobirthing session (of 4) went really well. Interesting to learn the basic science behind the hormones & how to best wield these to your own advantage during the long hours of labour. They haven't filled us with unrealistic expectations of a pain-free birth which I was concerned might happen. Instead I came away just feeling calmer, more knowledgeable & quite excited for our baby's arrival. I look forward to the next class.

HD - Glad to hear you're getting on top of the prep work for LO's arrival. I've literally just finished washing all his clothes and accessories today. Makes it all a little more real. Must spend some time working on my hospital bag. Might create a list on my phone so I can just throw it all in last minute & potentially avoid missing anything too important. I honestly admire how you find the energy to be this far into your pregnancy and managing a mini human, on top of work. To think that could ever be me one day just doesn't seem realistic. Definitely sounds like you're over doing it though. Please try and find some time in your day just for you. Get the pillow down from the wardrobe and indulge yourself!

Mommykenny - Thankfully our LO is no longer breech. I have quite a few scans booked in over the next few weeks so I'll keep getting them to confirm he's in the cephalic presentation and hopefully we'll avoid having to discuss any other options.

Katkat - Hope your appointment confirmed it was just a bit of harmless stretching & nothing more. Just taking prenatal vits over here (when I remember because I'm rubbish).

Maeve - Lovely that you're feeling well in your pregnancy, may it continue!

Love the neutral colours you're all picking! Wish our place was big enough for a nursery. We move again at the end of this year and I'm going to insist on one :)

For the ladies that enquired - personally, I would not describe hypnobirthing as entering a state of hypnosis but others might disagree. They provide you with some soundtracks that I would describe as similar to 'spa' music & they can send you to sleep because they're so relaxing and therapeutic but that's really as close as it gets for me. Our classes are run by 2 experienced midwives who talk you through everything you should expect for labour & birth (like a regular birthing class). Here's just a few things we discussed last week:

- adopting a calmer approach to labour by channeling in to all the positives
- restoring feelings of control as you work through your labour
- altering your previous perceptions of labour/birth
- understanding how chemicals/hormones affect the progression of labour (endorphins, oxytocin and adrenaline)
- learning how to effectively shield yourself from any negativity shared by others (whether intentional or unintentional)
- substituting common words that are used (for instance they would call a contraction: a surge and pain: discomfort)
- listening to therapeutic soundtracks (with or without vocals) and practicing breathing exercises to help you enter a deeper state of relaxation
- getting your birthing partners involved which I love! He was massaging my head, neck and along my spine during the last class & I thought I might marry him all over again

We finished both classes by watching wonderful videos of ladies who used these techniques in a birthing pool. Next week it's a 'dry land' birth. It's just incredible to watch them remain completely in control and ultimately boss it. I never thought labour and birth could be such a positive and ultimately empowering experience. I've only ever watched 'One Born Every Minute' as a reference and I don't believe every story-line promotes confidence in a mum-to-be.

But yeah, if you're willing to apply yourself then I really couldn't recommend it enough :) & in 7 or so weeks time I'll let you know how effective it was! Or not, haha.

HD - I've officially packed my hospital bags/travel suitcase. Didn't think I would enjoy it so much but it's all ready to go! Such peace of mind knowing DH won't be running around clueless & I'll end up at the hospital unpacking an alarm clock, 1 flip flop, expired vouchers for a sky dive and cat treats -.- I just know he'll look at me with wide eyes and go "I panicked!". I hope your son settles soon and you get some comfort in that before LO arrives. Can't imagine how quick time must fly when they're that little. Especially once his brother arrives!

missl - Love that you've joined this thread! Don't know how you found the resistance to avoid knowing the gender! I wonder if your hunch will turn out right or you'll get a real聽 surprise on the day. Either way it will be such a special moment.聽

katkat - Lovely to hear that you've felt lots more movement recently. I've had days where it appears our son has got a right wriggle on & he obviously has lots to do and then usually the day after this his movements are much softer and less frequent. I always imagine him probably yawning lots & enjoying a Netflix and chill day in there :)

ally - If you manage to do the yoga then fantastic. I remember finishing work just before Christmas & only ever wanting to crash on the sofa so I completely appreciate what you're saying. When does your maternity start? Sounds as if you need some time in your week to fit this all in. Hopefully your midwife appointment went well today! I'm sure you'll start feeling more movement as the weeks progress.

mommykenny - Yeah pretty much a relaxation method more than anything. I figure it can only be a good thing. Hows your nursery coming along?

Haven't managed to get hold of the Dr's. Our practice has temporarily relocated to another surgery so they're obviously feeling the pressure. I'm going to drive to them tomorrow to try and book an appointment in person. I have some Vit D capsules in the meantime I'm taking. Fingers crossed these will suffice. Have a growth scan tomorrow which I'm looking forward to. Love getting a sneak peak of him & seeing what he gets up to!
