I’ll be the first, I’m currently 11 weeks due at the end of May. This is our rainbow baby, we had a scan at 10+4 and everything looks great and had the Harmony test so just waiting on those results. I hope there are a few more May babies along to join us soon!

We’re due end of May. My friend is our surrogate. Had our 12 week scan last Monday and all appeared well.

I won’t be buying anything until safely past 20 weeks at least which is mid January. I’ve had a previous loss and so I can’t bring myself to buy anything yet although I know there are lots of good deals around at the moment. I’m still very much in the take it each day as it comes mindset xx

Same. I was tempted by some deals today but I just can’t. We’re gonna make a full weekend of it after the 20 week scan and then buy everything

We’re going to wait until after Xmas when we’ll be 18/19 weeks as there will be lots of sales on and I won’t have anywhere to store anything until after Xmas 🤣

Good plan. We have our 20 week scan on the 10th jan so least sales will still be going on

Yes my friend (our surrogate) is consultant led but we’re not booking in any extra scans, she’s super busy so I don’t want to add more to her life by booking in extra scans ha. I think she has to see the consultant every month. How about you? Xx

Yeah we’re consultant led as now classed as high risk due to age(!!!) and as it’s an IVF pregnancy was told out first appointment with the consultant t would be after our 20 week scan but we’ve received an appointment for when we’re 16 weeks so will find out more then xx. Ah that’s really thoughtful of u and very patient, I think I would have to drop hints about having a 30 week scan and gauge her reaction 🤣 xx

Yes I think most ivf pregnancy’s seems consultant led aren’t they? Does it mean more scans?

Hey Audi, good to see you on here now too! Yup looks like it I’m seeing my consultant just after my 20 week scan. I’m not having any extra scans between the 12-week and the 20-week I wanted to but now I’ve been quite anxious all pregnancy (I’ve had a previous loss) so I’m back in my happy bubble and I am scared to have scans in case something goes wrong and bursts it! I have my 16-week appointment on the 13th (I’ll be closer to 17) and if I get to hear the heartbeat then which I should that will be enough to get me through to the 20 week xx

Carrie im not sure I haven’t been previously but am this time, yes I believe it means more scans which I’ll be grateful for, no we’re going to keep it as a surprise, a midwife told me once that you push harder and quicker if you don’t know the sex so I’m going with that theory 🤣

Missl hey lovely, I certainly feel your anxiety and totally get where your coming from we’re planning on having a private scan around 16 weeks a) to hopefully ease my anxiety and b) for our daughter to see baby moving around as children aren’t really welcomed to the nhs ones and I think seeing baby moving will be even more magical for her than the picture 😍

How is everybody doing? I'm sorry I've been so quiet I've been such a bundle of nerves. I had my 16 week appointment today and although the said at the start they wouldn't be listening to the heartbeat they agreed to do it for me because I've been so worried. It did take a little while to find it because baby is sitting so low in my pelvis and my placenta is at the front but we got there in the end so I feel very reassured that today at least, baby is alive and kicking. Fortunately my mum is a doctor and went with me to the appointment and has plenty of experience with a Doppler herself, I think if she hadn't been there the midwife would have given up looking but Mum would have taken over and found it herself if she'd done that!! I'm hoping this will be enough now to carry me through until the 20 week scan after which I hope I can finally relax a bit and believe we're going to have a beautiful baby at the end of all this xx

Hello everyone, am finally ready to join the due date chat. I am 20w2d today and my due date is 03 May. I was told that they would induce me earlier due to my age if I make it till then, so a week earlier means the 26 ish April so I also joined the Mar/Apr thread as am sort of in between  I cannot believe how incredibly lucky we are, I was so so so nervous due to being 43, but all went well at the scan today. Good luck to everyone till waiting for the anomaly scan k x

Hello ladies!!

Sorry I’ve been awol I started getting a bit anxious after not seeing baby from 12w to now. I’m pleased to report all went well today with our 20w Scan and we’ve found out we’re having a little boy!! We are made up.

Have people started buying stuff yet?

It’s quiet here so I’ll just ramble to myself haha.

We saw the head of midwife yesterday to go through our surrogacy paperwork. I have chosen not to be in the room when my friend gives birth. I don’t want to see her in pain and in such a vulnerable position. Il just be outside.

I’m going the dr on Friday to try and get tablets to make me produce milk so I can breastfeed but the tablets have some nasty side effects and it’s hit and miss if people get them.

We went to aldi baby event and bought a few bits - clothes, muslins, thermometer, bath thermometer.
Friends have gifted me loads of clothes and stuff so I hopefully don’t need to buy much.

Hi Carrie if your going to take domperidone/motillum I just want to let you know that I’ve taken it and a reasonably good dose and never got any side effects, are you going to start stimulating your nipples/breasts also to help? Good luck 🙂

Yes that’s what I’m trying to get - domperidone. I’ve read a lot of people can’t get it anymore
If I can’t I’m going to try get it on a private script. What was your dose? Xx
