Hi ladies

I am due for my 1st fertility specialist appointment on the 9th of June Yippee! have been waiting for the last 3 months for this and have been told to have my cd21 progesterone done and rubella done which I have done.  What other blood tests would you recommend I take before I go as I know some results can take forever to get back.  I see lots of ladies speak about the CD3 bloods? are these your fSH oesterodial(sp?) what about an HIV.  My dp has also done a sperm analysis but he did that in Jan will he need to have another one done?

Hi

You & your partner would both need to have HIV and Hep B&C bloods done, some clinics will also require you both to have chlamydia tested.  These need to be done before you start treatment but no longer than 1 year before starting.

Your partner will need to have an up to date sperm test done within 3-6mths before starting treatment...your clinic will advise.

You will also need to have FSH and Oestradiol (oestrogen/E2) tested fairly close to starting treatment.  These are usually done between cd2-4/5 and many women do have done on cd3....again, your clinic will advise.

I'd try to get your HIV/Heps done asap as these can take several weeks for results to come through and will last a year but the other tests I'd wait until you have your appointment with your consultant as the clinics usually like you to have them tested close to starting treatment and also have their own results as opposed to you getting them done through GP.

Good luck
Natasha
