Hi,
I'm nearly 10 weeks pregnant. I have an atonic bladder which can cause urinary retention, which has been a problem already in this pregnancy, and have been warned I will be more susceptible to UTI's.

About a week ago I started with mild burning while I was weeing, and this has got much worse, and is really uncomfortable today. I tried to make an appointment to see my GP but there was only a nurse available. She did a 'dipstick' test and apparently all is clear, which really shocked me. She checked with a DR who said if the dipstick was ok, I was ok.

I'm not entirely reassured - why is it burning when I go to the loo if I don't have an infection? Is this possible?

Hi,

I think I would have still sent a sample off to the lab, just to make sure. I think, with your history, if it's still bad tomorrow, go back again and ask to be seen and investigated,

It's actually feeling a bit better today, but if it gets any worse I will definitely go back and get it checked out.
