My DH has just had a scan, as his left testicle was hurting him, so much so he couldn't bear to be examined.  :'(

This has revealed a cyst in the left epididymis. We are seeing a consultant tomorrow for a follow up to this and also to talk through TESE after an unsuccessful PESA.

Will this need to be removed. Could this be behind the NIL sperm count? I know I should wait until tomorrow but now I am armed with this info I am curious (and impatient I know!)

Has anyone elses DH had this problem? Any advice woudl be appreciated.

Many thanks,

It may be the cause of the sperm situation but not necessarily. I would expect they would want to remove it bearing in mind the pain your DH is in and they should be able to retreive sperm at the same time.

Thanks Ruth.

Urologist said today that the position of the cyst would not cause the pain but thinks it from an infection which may have caused scarring. He has put DH on antibiotics for one month and he is confident the pain will go.

We will move to TESE after that.

Thanks again for you advice.
