Hi Girls

I was wondering if any of you can help me.

I have had 3 cycles of IVF unfortunately each one has ended in a BFN 

The first cycle we had the problem of low grade embryos, but the second and third we transferred top quality embryos-I am starting to think that I may have immunological issues (I halso have endo and know that there are strong links between the 2).

I have a few questions...

Does your ob/gyn/RE support the work of Dr Beer?

Can anyone explain why I get ARGC when I call the number on Dr Beers website?

How and where are all the tests done if you do decide to go ahead with the testing?

Thanks so much-I just feel I need to try everything and am very interested in pursuing this!!

We had treatment through Dr Beer (see my history in profile)- I don;t have endo but other immunological issues- Dr Beer is based in California USA- we saw him at ARGC when he came to London- visit his website at www.repro-med.net You can try the self-assessment tests at https://www.repro-med.net/tests/stest.php Bloods are taken on Monday Tuesday or Wednesday at HCA in Harley St and sent to Chicago Med school- We were actually based at CRM London but to cut a long story short we managed to have treatment via email and tests in London. I actually believe he was responsible for getting me pregnant- but it has not come cheap- tests cost almost £1k and drugs can be quite a bit more- please send a message privately if you'd like further info

Hi Maddy

I too have had treatment from Dr beer- shared care with CARE, Nottingham. DB has led most of the treatment decisions and has certainly been key in terms of which drugs I have continued through the pregnancy.

I saw him in London once and have communicated by email since then, plus a single phone conversation.

Most fertility/ general gynaes think he is a charlatan quack though so don't expect your centre to want to take on board his recommendations. I was lucky that George at CARE follows many of his ideas and is happy to take his advice about treatments.

Kate I see from your signature you have been successful-that is good to see. Its also interesting to read that a number of consultants do not support his work. I'm obviously going to have to be brave if I'm going to do this on my own!!!

Pippa I tried the test and it came back as 2.3 not sure what the highest would be-2nd test I hadn't even heard of alot of it so didn't even try!!!! Were you cycling at ARGC I am at Barts and have an appointment in a few weeks so will be interesting to see what they have to say about it all!!

This is all so difficult-I just don't want to feel as though I have not tried everything and there is something that just keeps me thinking I have to give this guy a try...

PS Did you have any initial immune tests done by your local DR I'm waiting for my result - had the blood tests last week xxx

We had some standard tests done on the NHS. My suggestion is that you get a list of the Dr Beer tests and take them to your GP and ask which ones the NHS can do

My understanding is that most some of the immune tests are very specialist and can only be done with th Chicargo lab - and only ARGC and CARE work with them from the UK. There are other antibody tests which your GP may be able to help you with.

I'm an occasional lurker - I tend to be over on the yahoo immune board more regularly but just wanted to encourage you Maddy that it is possible and do-able to consult with Dr B.  Seems like a maze to start with but its actually easier than I thought.  I've had 6 early m/c and finally got fed up with the conservative approach over here (no investigation til after the third, then an apsirin, then some heparin... always saying immunology is not relevant - turns out it totally is!!!.  Dr Beer sures gets results so I figured why not -
You can register on line and then he'll say what tests he needs - most can be done over here at a lab on harley st, just a few have to be sent to US.  It is expensive but I'm seeing it as an investment!
Its interesting to hear from kate and pippa about how they did it.  At the moment I'm waiting to have the LIT treatment then we hope to get the green light to ttc. I've heard amazing things about him helping women who've failed IVF cycles and then are able to conceive naturally.  HIs tx do sound fairly aggressive but lik eyou say why not....
