hi girls I have been changed from long to short protocol. I have started taking the birth control pill this month in preparation for treatment next cycle. My clinic have told me that although I will need a scan on CD2 before starting stims I will not need a E2 blood test - my clinic is abroad and I have just had a long discussion about my protocols etc so I wondered if anyone knew why the E2 blood test is not necessary so that I don't have to call them back if there is a simple explanation.

Some clinics do the E2 bloods and some don't.

If you're having a scan then that's fine.

Our clinic doesn't do E2 bloods as standard....you have scans and will only do the bloods if they feel you need to have E2 done eg if long protocol and womb lining still thick at baseline scan, if have lots of follicles during stimms etc.

If your clinic have said you don't require one then sounds fine as they're the experts after all.
