Hello girls  ;D

Sorry I've not posted for a few days.  Our PC at home is not connected up yet in our new home, so I can only post at work at the mo.

The move went well but we are both very tired.  I'm soooo relieved that I'm not ill and I have to say that I'm fighting fit and managing on a lot less pain killers that normal which is great considering I'm going through 1st af after neg result.

Drew - I hope you are going to give me a blow by blow account of your impending tx.  I cant wait for you to start.  When do you go on holiday?

I've looked at the other girls I was cycling with on the 2ww thread and see a quite few a  ^reiki^.  I'm so pleased for them but feel sad I am not joining them.

I have my review appointment on 16th Nov with the clinic to discuss tx options.  I'm worried they may say my eggs are duff.  On the other hand they may want me to continue as normal in which case I feel there's very little hope, so I dont know what the think.

My pug dogs love our new garden as they only had a yard before.  They are always playing outside on the grass.  The house is lovely but covered in boxes.  I can now walk to work (though I did nt this morning as it was piddling down).

Bye for now

love

Becca

Hi

I am Chick, 23 live with DP called Andy who is 22 (toyboy!!). Have known I have had endo since Nov 2002, had it lasered twice but has now come back with vengence. Have had Zoladex, provera and dansol in my time.
Suffer with pcos as well which can make things twice as bad sometimes.
We're not ttc anymore because of the problems I have in my belly. Maybe we'll get a 2nd opinion one day......

Heya ladies,  :)

Welcome back Bec - sorry there's a bit of confusion - we have actually started another thread under the Inbetween Treatment thread.  But I am happy to talk here as well with you Bec & Chick!!

My EC is tomorrow morning - I can't wait because it means my doctor are going to harvest my babies and hopefully drain that evil endometrioma - have you ever had endometriomas?

Bec I am glad you have settled in your new house (well at least the doggies are enjoying themselves!).

Bec - Don't you worry about your egg quality.  My guitar teacher is 55 years old.  Her youngest (conceived naturally though it took her quite a few years to do so) is 5 years old.  Plus you are still young so don't you worry - it will happen.  But good luck with the appointment in two weeks time.  :)

And welcome to this thread Chick!  I also have bad endo on one ovary and PCOS on the other.  Please don't give up so soon - I know it is difficult but you are still so young.  I have known many people who are told by doctors that they aren't going to have any children to conceive naturally when they weren't even trying.  Can you tell me more about your blighted ovum?  What did they say about that?  Are you responsive when they stimm you?  I was a human pin cushion for ages before they get my stimms right.  Generally with PCOS and endo - the chances are you may be slightly difficult to treat (in terms of getting correct dosage via IVF) - but that doesn't mean it is not going to happen.  It just takes a little while longer.  Please don't give up - it is so nice to see you and your DP are so in love.  It's sweet.  :)

Take care ladies - I will write again Bec as soon as I return to work on thursday to report on my egg collection.  I sure hope there is enough to fill a carton.  ;)

Lv & hugs, Drew

Hi Chick, Emily And Drew

Chick - did you get any Feminax?  I used to use that before I was dx and can recommend it.  It really chills you as well  :).  I took as soon as I woke up before the pain got a hold (but you are supposed to take with food though).  I also find Mefanamic Acid wonderful.  I know it may not be any consolulation but I suffered crippling pain in my early 20s and have to say it improved loads by the time I was 25 and since turning 30 I've only had a few 'episodes' problably brought on by ivf and the odd twinge. I'm not wishing you to get old fact hun but I just thought I'd share that with you so you know that it may not always be this bad.

Emily - how are you doing??

Drew - hope you got my message and good luck with ec  ;D.  I felt really proud of myself last time after ec and got a Burger King on the way home  ^evil^ I had orange juice instead of coke though, does that make it a healthy option??

Bye for now my endo friends.

Becca

I did get the feminax, it was great, was totlally spaced out, it really conquered my fear of flying last week as well.
We got another opinion from our gynae, going for surgery to removed the affected part of my remaining ovary, it could be great or it could be a diasaster, pain wise, it's the only option for me vbecause it causes so much pain, looking at about a 2-4 month wait now, but in the meantime, on metformin.
Wanted me to go back on Zoladexc, though not very keen to do that at all.
Has anyone else been on Zoladex & Livial/HRT? Did anyone find it as bad as I did?

hiya

i too have severe endo. was dx in 2003. had lap/dye then too. sadly was told everything is damaged beyond repair. and that i would never have any children  :(

i was in and out of the hospital in pain every other week. so in the end they decided i should go on zoladex for 6mths. i am still on zoladex 2yrs later and have not hada break from it.

i also am HRT and i take clonidine and livial. i have bad side affects with these. i have completely swollen out and have put on weight with the zoladex.

due to all this i have developed fluid onto which i am now on fluid tablets also..........this is very difficult to deal with all this.

maybe one day there will be light at the end of the tunnel!!

take care.

always here if you want a chat.

Hi Chick66

You asked about others not liking Zoladex.

Well, I was diagnosed 5 years ago (after 10yrs of waiting) I had laser treament for the endo then went on 6mths of zoladex I am now 36.

I can honestly say that it was one of the worst things I have ever done. Not only did I put on loads of weight but i was left very badly depressed (prescribed anti depressants but I never took them). On top of that the hot flushes triggered off panic attacks which have only just stopped.

I did it because I was single at the time and wanted to preserve any fertiliy i may have had but sadly after 3yrs and IVF i still haven't conceived ( I have since being diagnosed met a wonderful man and re-married).

It did howver appear from my last lap 2 yrs ago that the endo hasn't returned! So maybe it was worth it from that point of view.

My doctor at the time said that it wasn't the zoladex or wouldn't admit that it was but it is alla bit of a coincidence.

Is this similar to your experience?

Hi girls
Not sure where everyone has gone  ::) Anyway, I'm off to New Zealand later today for 3 weeks - hurrah  ;D Just wanted to let you all know I'm still thinking of you. Don't know what my next move will be, IVF-wise, but my endo twinges have gone since my last DE cycle with associated acupuncture sessions, so I am just concentrating on having a jolly good holiday now! Bye for now

Hi girls...

How ya all doing!!!!
I am a bit lost!!!!  I cannot remember where the endo girlie post was and then there was two  :-\.  Anyway I am glad to see some of you ladies here.

I had another natural ovulation - which ended up to nothing.  I seriously think I have some immune issues here to be dealt with.  I made the decision to remove my left ovary and tube - after years of gentle nudging from my doctor.  He thinks it is best because there really isn't a need for it anyway.  It doesn't make eggs anymore, and I keep getting persisting cysts which makes me bleed black blood during my AF.  (sorry tmi!).

I am waiting to see doc next week to discuss surgery dates.  What do you ladies think?  I know I am at risk of the endo returning again, but I figured might as well - I am really tired of returning to my fertility clinic anymore.  I didnt even go back for a `final' blood test to confirm what I already know.  It is just too depressing and I seem to have lost my faith in the medical system.  Sorry for the whinge!!!  :(

Have you ladies heard from my mate Bec?? :)

Jaq - hope you enjoy your holidays!  You're be the closest to me if you are in New Zealand right now!!!

Emily - hello sweetie - always nice to read your lively posts.

Hiya to Heston and Tracey and all the other chickies - we will have to unite and share info to fight this evil disease called Endometriosis.

Hi girls

Sorry I've not been about much.

Drew - I'm sorry your feeling so bad but I can fully understand your concerns about immune issues.  I'm not sure if that's why it is'nt working for us but I refuse to spend any more money on tx without being tested first.  I can also understand why you have opted to have your endo ovary removed.  It does sound like you dont need it.  You've got some frosties and your other ovary is producing well.  I'm only guessing but I imagine it could help with stimms.  You've been through so much and have become an expert on your own body!! So I reckon your gut feeling to have it removed is the right one  ;)  They're my thoughts anyway.

Hope everone else is OK.

To add to the great Zoladex debate, I can honestly say I felt great on it.  I also took Livial HRT.  I had no twinges or leg pain and would not hesitate to take it again, providng I could take the HRT.

Sorry I have nt had chance to do personals as I'm at work at the mo.  I'll be back later.

Bye for now.

love

HI Drew,

Thanks for mentioning me.

Although I have endo I kind of put myself in the unexplained category as i have always been told I still have a possibility of a natural pregnancy. What a joke!

After many, many years of hoping I finally put myself through IVF in october and failed.

I cannot put into words how awful it was but also how i admire all you women who have IF to deal with. Only special peole would find the strength to cope.

What I am getting to is that surprisingly my clinic decided to test me for killer cells straight away and the test came back as slightly raised. It is just a simple bood test (cost me more that £300 for 3 diff tests!!).

Anyway my consultant wants me on steroids this cycle to rule out immunology. If I fail again then god knows what the answer is.

Get the test done at least you can rule it out if nothing else. Trouble is we are all looking for answers all the time and never seem to get anything definite. It's a lottery.

He did show me a woman at his clinic in the unexplained category who despite them saying she was never going to suceed went through 4 yrs of continual IVF and other treatment to eventually become the first woman to have twins from frozen blastocyst embryos! You have to admire her presisitance and guts!!! Maybe it is just his latest sales pitch????!!!!

Hope you surgery goes ok if you decide to go ahead.

Take care

Hiya Girlies

Drew good to hear from you honey ^Cuddle^

Lots of luck for next week i will be thinking of you when u see ur doc

Bec hope that ur doing ok......any bowel comments to make ^roflmao^

F how r u doing honey.

Its difficult because altho i can obviously get pg naturally its so bumpy and i have been advised by endo spec my best chance would be to try ivf which i havent been keen on and i think been in denial thats what i need but there comes a time.

Jaq hope that ur having a lovely time in NZ or had one as i imagine u will read once ur back!!

As for me i am having time off from work once again.

I am dodging hospital admission trying to drag myself thru until monday when i see the endo gynae almost there now arent i only 5 days to go!!

I have had such bad pain and havent been able to wee, i saw physion on monday and my bladder isnt emptying so i am gonna be catheterised OMG feel like an old fogey now dont i!!

I am going to see gp later today and we are going to ask to be referred to see the IVF clinic, we are going via NHS so at least will give docs a chance to get me up to full strength as the clinic we chose for location and success rates has a 2 yr waiting list....atm we cant afford to pay private as just buying a new house.

Will keep the endo gynae quiet about suggesting hysterectomy yet again!!

I think i need another lap but think at the very least it will be a hysteroscopy if not to investigate the recurrent bleeding since my m/c of Noah and catalina.

Anyway i am off to bed shortly will try and post in a day or so to let u know how i got on at the drs

take care

Hi Ladies,

Sorry for the long post this may turn out to be   :-\ and its alow post too  :'(

i just wondered if maybe any of you can help with some suggestions of what to do and where to go, heres my history............................

Despite having 2 babies easily and very early  :-[, as i grew older and decided the time was right for another child, i suddenly found i couldn't conceive, how odd...... after two yrs of ttc finally was referred to a specialist at my local hosp for further test, he decided there and then was PCOS and put me on 8 mths of clomid, no joy there so booked me in for a lap and dye and a hysteroscopy at the same time. whilst there he discovered that i had at some time in my life had endo, but it was gone leaving some scarring/partial blockage to my r tube, and had attached my tube to my bowel which he lasered apart, however there was no sign of any current endo, that was 8 yrs ago. i had a HSG 4 yrs ago and was told that they couldn't see any damage and that previous Dr was wrong!!! hmmmmmm ok!

My problem now is still no babies and have been getting pains on my right side mid month/during  ^witch^  and at various other times of cycle for past 12/18 mths gradually getting worse.... saw GP yesterday who said sounds to her like endo and gave me 3 options easiest being pain relief, second easiest the contraceptive pill  ^scared^ (still ttc you know) lastly referral to gynae for lap and dye..... as i am now 35, should i be pushing for an appointment to see the gynae?? or just take the pain relief and carry on half heartedly ttc??  i am so confused with all these dx's that are giving before any tests, (have been told i have PCOS twice but when they investigate there is no evidence of it at all) i just dont know where to go or what to do next and have lost a lot of faith in the medical community  :'( :'( :'(

sorry to whine and moan but just dont know what to do for the best any more any help would be greatly appreciated
