Hi Jeanette

Sorry another question for you.

I am feeding J expressed breast milk. From my left breast I can get 100-150ml of milk, from my right only about 50ml. I wonder if I have caused this problem because I always start expressing on the left and fill up the remainder of the jar on the right which would normally be about 50-60ml. Because of this I am having to supplement with 2 formula feeds a day.

Please can you give me any tips to increase milk production on the right breast??

Many thanks

Hiya Di

Ideally you need to be ''double pumping'' ie both breasts at the same time.

It is normal, even when double pumping, for one side to produce more than the other.

So, try and express from both sides for the same amount of time.

If you are thinking about expressing exclusively long term then have a think about getting a double electric breast pump. This will save you time plus help with your production of breast milk. Hopefully then you wont have to use any formula milk.
