I've got a question that is just out of curiosity (i.e. I'm thrilled either way).  I'm almost 19 weeks pregnant and this week my husband and I found out that our baby is a boy.  The funny thing is is that there are literally ONLY boys on dh's side (his brothers, his cousins and his cousins' kids).  I'm wondering if this is total coincidence that we too will be having a boy or if there is some genetic reason....just my scientific side wondering.

The general thought is that it is something genetic as the male bearing sperm are more vigourous then the female bearing in his family. It can be the other way round for other families. How frustrated I get when reading historical novels and all the emphasis is on the female having yet another girl and what she has done wrong, when it was the men all the time!!!
