Hi everyone,

I'm new to fertilityfriends and just finding my way around so not sure if I should start a new topic, so apologies if I'm doing the wrong, but just let me know/direct me to the right place.  I have a quick question as my husband and I are feeling rather desperate right now...

We have just been through our first round of IVF which was unsuccessful. We are British but live in Milan in Italy (weird I know). We did the IVF in Milan for free on the public system (rather like NHS apart from it being in a different language...which was pretty stressful because we got rushed in and out of appointments with little/no explanation of what was going on). We could do another round with the public system here but the waiting list is getting longer and longer and we aren't young and don't want to waste any more time.

We are looking at private treatment options in Italy but also in the rest of Europe that specialise in difficult cases like ours (me: 37 with lowish AMH and highish FSH, husband: low sperm count)?

Ideally we don't want to break the bank (as we earn euros nowadays) but then again we want excellent treatment. I'm wondering if Greece or Spain would be any cheaper (or maybe I'm just making this up).

Any thoughts/suggestions/directions to posts would be gratefully accepted...as we're feeling really overwhelmed right now.

Thanks again!

Hi Frances, I'm new to this too, my DP and I are using a clinic in Poland called invicta, they are English speaking (we have had some communication issues but this was sorted within 5 mins by another nurse joining in on the consultation), we are having ICSI with DE so far its cost us £181 for scans and bloods, also £80 for our drugs estrofem and progesterone then for DE all inclusive programme its £2,200 for 4 to 6 eggs but if we would like all eggs produced then its £3,200 we have yet to decide on this as we can make this choice on egg collection day when we see how many are collected, freezing embryos is £141 per year, of course there is accommodation and food to pay on top of this but its been very cheap, our hotel was £38 per night and flights £25 pp each way, for other visits we are flying out and staying over night as flights are only just over 2 hours from uk.
Our egg donor was found within 6 weeks she is 18 years old and shares my height, eye colour and hair colour also Polands donors are  100% anonymous so this is all we know of her.
I hope this is of help to you we are only just starting our first cycle so I am not able to give you our out come im afraid, very best of luck
