Anyone heard from your clinic in Spain with any info regarding treatment, plans, whether they are open closed and or how this may affect donor recruitment, FET?

Any ideas on when we might be able to travel

Feel free to use here to vent express how you feel grieve get support or just voice how to feel to get some of this off your chest

Hiya,

As have said on another thread I am in touch with the UK clinic where i was having treatment b4 it was cancelled .  It is impossible to know anything much though they are still recruiting donors and people are having on line assessments with a view to have treatment...but I don't know anything about side the UK with regards to treatment x

my clinic is in Barcelona. The clinic has been partially open since lockdown. According to their website, they won't do any new treatments including embryo transfers until the pandemic ceases or at least European Society for Human Reproduction changes its recommendation. It looks like a long wait... much longer than I had expected...

ESHRE has changed. My clinic in Alicante restarted yesterday. So maybe check back in with yours.

Thanks for posting the updated info! My clinic is very slow updating its website...I was even surprised to see they have a "COVID-19" section on their website lol
Wow, it seems like there's the light at the end of the tunnel! Yay! Now our obstacle is "traveling and accommodation"  ^idiot^

I plan on flying over and back in the same day. Have done this many times before for transfers.
Hotels may not open for ages and I want to be home as soon as possible. But then there are other safety factors to consider.

My clinic has suggested I notify them when my June cycle starts.
I doubt it will be June for treatment but still nice to have something to look forward to.

At least clinics are open.

So looks like no flights from here (Ireland) until August at least. We have just had announcements on the roadmap to reopening the country.
So that’s harsh but nothing can be done about that.

My clinic has reopened too and all treatments including embryo transfer have been resumed. I saw a Ryanair schedule and it'll start flying to Barcelona from the 22nd May (of course this may be push back again). Only problem is that I'm not allowed to enter Spain yet...

Feeling a bit down today after realising I was probably getting excited a bit too early about IB opening again. The logistics of it all, flights, hotels being closed and the fact that we haven’t started coming out of lockdown yet means it’s still going to be a while. Thinking Sept might be more realistic and it just feels so far away :(

I am with IB too and they just opened up last week. The real problem is the travel isn't it. Like when will we be able to go and when we are will we have to self isolate when we return?

Hugs to everyone here, we are in a rotten position as our clinic is abroad, however I do feel lucky no one I know close to me has gotten this rotten virus!

Love Lucy, I feel exactly the same here. I built my hopes up too high and found out that Spain had extended lockdown again until 24 or 25th. Goodbye to another cycle..

Sending hugs to you all too. It is difficult and so many questions like Shoegals said. There are flights scheduled to Alicante from the Midlands around the end of June which is what I initially thought we’d aim for with the clinic now open, but we don’t know if the flight will actually go ahead, if so how will isolation work, will we have to isolate there before treatment, will we have isolate when we come home?

Hotels are still closed so it may have to be a trip there and back in one day but that just sounds so stressful to me.

So many unknowns make this still feel like it’s going to be a while still

Xx

Clinic was in touch
They require covid test gloves mask etc. No idea how the covid test works. But it says at the clinic. And €120. Presume on arrival.

I’m back to thinking Aug Sept now

Oh wow so you have to pay the €120 for the test and protective gear? We haven’t been told anything like that from IB yet. I think it will be Sept time too and it just feels so far away. Anxiously waiting to see what today’s update is from Boris to see if there’s any mention of what’s happening with travel

Test is €120 and just been advised I have to wear gloves and mask. At this stage I would wear a full hazmat suit if they wanted.

I am in Southern Ireland so similar restrictions for travel. Waiting waiting. Tempted to book same day flights July 1st. But I read that Ryan air won’t resume flying until ‘at least July’

That’s great ZC, what’s the travel situation looking like for you? Have you booked a flight and accommodation? We’ve been considering aiming for August but wasn’t sure if that was being too ambitious...i’m hoping not if you’re managing to get there at the end of July xx

I messaged the hotel. Mid July to open. And flights are changeable so I booked some for end July. But I’ve already changed them to the week after due to my daft cycle going haywire.
Flights are available from here from 1st July. But only for essential travel. So I might just push this to September or maybe August too.
But Spain is opening end of June and they are on track.
