Hi everyone, my clinic have asked me to perform a test here. I did a vaginal microbiome test a couple of months ago and my nutritionist discovered low levels of bacteria. I've been on a mix of tablets and pessaries since. So my clinic in Spain have asked me to perform a test here to see if we can start the DE IVF process.

This is the test they want: ".. cervical and vaginal exudate culture for bacteriological study. They take a sample of the cervix and vagina and send it to the lab to check for bacteria."

Does this sound like a smear test? If not, what do you reckon it is? Thank you! x

Smear is cervical. This sounds like what a strep test would be where they take the sample from vagina and are looking for bacteria. But that’s just a guess.
